Oct 25, 2009Ive just installed Windows 7 via Bootcamp on a MacBook. When I go into 'Computer' in Windows, I can see my Macintosh HD drive and most of its contents, some pics and other folders etc are all viewable and draggable into Windows. What im thinking now is, can I setup iTunes or even Media Player to see my iTunes library on the Mac side without actually copying it to Windows?
Ive been searching for the Library whilst in Windows but cant find it.
ITunes :: Sync A Mp3 Player To It?
Jun 10, 2012I have an old, 4 GB sony mp3 player, and I'd like to transfer my videos to it. With the music, I can just drag it into the drive that represents the player on the screen, but it won't let me view the movies if I transfer them in the same way. I'm thinking this might be because iTunes has to recognize the device, since the file type is a protected MPEG-4.
Just fyi, yes the device is m4v compatible. how to sync a non-apple device to iTunes?

Sep 1, 2006I searched the forums and couldn't find anything on it. I recently reinstalled Quicktime, now everytime I download an .MP3 file to my desktop or wherever, it has Quicktime as the default MP3 player..... Even when I right click it and do Open With... and select Always Open With (iTunes) it just selects that one file to open with iTunes everytime. I was seeing if there was a way to make iTunes my default MP3 player for all mp3s..... It seems to only be occuring with newly downloaded files. All my older MP3's still open in iTunes.

I figure there would be two ways; it could just copy the Itunes directory which always has things sorted by artist, or it could try and duplicate my playlists as folders. I'd prefer the latter. Jun 9, 2012I have tried burning my iTunes purchases onto a CD, and when I try to play them back on my CD player, nothing happens. It will play back in iTunes on the Mac, but not on my CD player or in my car.
I suspect it has to do with the speed at which they burn, but I have no idea how to change that?

Sep 10, 2009I became accustomed to using CMD+Z to switch iTunes into Mini Player and normal view. Not sure why I started using CMD+Z (I'm pretty sure it was the original shortcut before it got changed..?). Anyway, in previous iTunes versions, the green button would take it to and from Mini Player. So, to get the CMD+Z shortcut to work, I created a shortcut in Keyboard (in System Preferences) for iTunes, and assigned the menu title "Zoom" to CMD+Z. Well, that obviously doesn't work in iTunes 9 since the green button, or "Zoom" now just does what the green button does for everything else in OS X. So to get around that, all you have to do is add two new shortcuts. One for Switch to Mini Player and one for Switch from Mini Player and assign them both to CMD+Z (or whatever you prefer). Thought I'd share that if anyone else was in the same boat as me.

Sep 13, 2009So, back in the day (last week actually) I always had my iTunes in "mini player mode" on the right hand side on the bottom of my screen, just above the trash bin. When I needed to select a song or a different playlist, I would click the green button, apply my settings, and click the green button again and go back on about my business. However, with iTunes 9, you have to hold the option key to switch to the mini player. I am severly bothered by this, is there any way to hack iTunes with the terminal fix this? I liked it the old way. Who's with me? Also, when iTunes is not the active window, and you switch to mini, the active screen is automatically hidden (like when you push Cmd+H)

Jun 13, 2012I have a slightly older Macbook Pro, on OSX 10.5.8.I have a bunch of video files on a wireless networked hard drive and the directory mapped to my desktop for easy access.I also have VLC installed for video playback.All the files are *.m4v.
When I click to open one of these files it starts copying the whole file over the network to my iTunes, and insisting on opening from iTunes.If I click on File -> Open With -> it shows iTunes as the default.I can click on File -> Open With -> VLC and this works just fine.But how do I change the default video player?All I want to do is stream it over my internal home network, I don't want copy the darn file every time I want to play something.

I know how to change this in preferences. I don't know which file is best to choose that would play in about any cd player. Apr 22, 2012My music library is on my iMac, located in a different room of the house than my home theater system with a decent Denon receiver and good Infinity towers. I have an iPod connector to the Denon which I can use, but the iPod has a limited library of songs, so I would like to somehow access my iMac music library and be able to play it through the home theater system. Hard wiring the components is out of the question due to length of run through several rooms of the house, no basement and cathedral ceilings. I already have my iMac and my Panasonic Blu-Ray player both connected to my wi-fi, and it seems there should be a way to connect both of them using the wi-fi. The blu-ray player is DLNA, but the Mac isn't, so that is out of the question. Is there any other way to get these components to talk to each other over wi-fi?

Sep 4, 2010have in the past few weeks uprgraded from tiger to leopard.Everything has been ok but i think i might have deleted some vital part of Quicktime player when i tried to clean up.I only realised this when i decided to get Quicktime player pro which i have paid for and have the key..I have tried to download quicktime from apple support website and just about any other website for that matter but zero.zilch.Installer takes me through the process but i get no player.
I have tried to remove all components of quicktime but to no avail.the download intalls but goes nowhere.Have tried to maybe 'jumpstart' it by double clicking quicktime time movies but there is just nothing going on.

Oct 23, 2009I got my new 13" MBP two weeks ago and I've been using the F8 button solely for playing and pausing songs in iTunes. I think it's great to have this because I can easily stop my music when I want to watch a youtube video and the audio is coming from somewhere else and not iTunes for example The problem is, whenever I press the F8 button now, it stops the song in iTunes but it starts playing a video in VLC...I checked both system preferences and VLC preferences but couldn't find anywhere to control what the F8 button controls.
