Mar 27, 2009
I just got my hands on a Adesso foldable keyboard a nd am going to hook it up to my IMac. THE packaging and the website tell me that it is a Windows board, but it has a USB connector. Is there any reason taht it won't work on my IMac?

I have just purchased a Mac OS X 10.5.6 (Leopard) and I am trying to install this driver link (Scroll to the bottom). When I do I get about half way and it stops and starts at the beginning of the installation. I've noticed that it stops at info.plist. I have been able to install this driver on a Mac OS X 10.4.11 and it works great. The tablet seems to be recognized by Mac OS X 10.5.6 and I can used all the functionality of the tablet that Mac lets you. Such as write and so on and so fourth. The program Art Rage 2.5 works perfectly fine without the drivers but programs like Photoshop need this driver to detect pen pressure. I have contacted Adesso numerous times and have tried to call several times without any response. I'm hoping that someone may have the solution for me or perhaps could help me figure a solution.

I want to be able to print to my HP 4M Plus printer from my imac that I bought in 2010. Which cables do I need? How do I get my computer to recognize it? I've tried downloading the drivers but it still does not recognize it.

I know that there's a headphone output jack and an audio input jack on the iMac. Is there anyway to hook up my 5.1 Logitech speakers to the iMac? What kind of adapter would I need or is it even possible?

After debating the need vs. want of the iMac and Mac Pro, I'm going to follow my brain and go with the iMac (27" i7) since I use it for work, though my work is in the business side of the music industry dealing more with email, spreadsheets and some minor music/photo/video editing (which is easily done for me via Apple`s iLife).
My real question is with the 3 external hard drives I want to buy - G Tech 1TB G Drives. I read about daisy chaining the drives, which sounds like a good idea. But am curious about it. Obviously if I have 3 external HDD's and want to use FW800 on all three of them, with only one FW800 on my computer, daisy chaining solves the problem. But in this set-up, what is the potential downside to this? Is there an upside or other reason(s) people daisy chain their drives, too?
I`ll use the iMac's HDD, of course. But I also need one HDD for work (important files, contracts, etc). One for personal (music, photo, video). And lastly, one as a back-up for the other HDD's.
What would my BEST and also cost effective option be? Buy 3 externals and daisy chain them? Use eSata (what would that entail)? Increased speed would be the only major plus I'm looking for with setting these HDD's up. Just not sure all my options...
But keep in mind I don`t need them to mirror each other. HDD 1 (iMac) has my minor importance stuff. HDD 2 has my work files and business stuff. HDD 3 is personal photos, videos and massive iTunes collection (300gb). And HDD 4 is a back-up of all the others. Raid seems to be not exactly what I need - perhaps overkill on cost, too. What do you think? Also, I know everyone has their taste in externals. I actually had great reliability in Western Digitals MyBook Studios, and My Passbooks. But some people I know had good time with the G Tech`s - aside from them looking cool.

Is there a way to hook up a external monitor to the 24" iMac as in the same way you can do with a macbook pro? Reason being is that I want the 24" iMac and I want to do photo editing. I'm getting mixed reviews on it due to the glossy screen. Some say yes and others say no. I have a 21 inch LCD display that I am not using. I was wondering if I can use it when I need to edit photos. I can't afford the macbook pro that I want so my next option is the iMac.

My desk configuration for my imac includes a keyboard tray. I am contemplating just not using it, however it really does put the keyboard in a more natural place for me to sit correctly. If I want to use the wired keyboard though, I will obviously need some type of usb extension. I have read these came with the old keyboards, but they don't come with the new ones. Does anyone know where I can find one that is compatible with the aluminum keyboard? Would the extenders that came with the old Mac keyboards work (in case i can find one on ebay or something)?

This is an idea that I have since I bought a MacBook Pro and it's because I love the trackpad and I use it instead of the mouse.
So the keyboard of an iMac can have integrated the keyboard itself + the trackpad in just a single "device".
The place of the trackpad can be where before were a numeric keypad. It can have the other features that have the MBP's keyboard.

I'm trying to using my iMac wireless keyboad for my macbook pro while my iMac is in external display mode but I can't get the keyboad to connect. I've tried disconnecting the wireless keyboard from my iMac but it won't go into target display mode without the keyboad. Can I used my iMac wireless keyboard with my Macbook pro while my iMac is being used as an external display?

I am sorry if this has posted before.
I was wondering if selling parts of the iMac, like the Magic mouse or the wireless keyboard would void the warranty?

I bought my Macbook Pro in Oct 2009 and am trying to figure out which cables I need to hook it up to my new Sony Bravia TV. It's my understanding that Apple made a Macbook Pro that would allow video and audio to pass through the HDMI cables but I'm not sure if that's the one I have. Do I just need the minidisplay port to HDMI or do I need something else?

I am having questions about the 2009 Mac Pro and the 24-inch LED Display from Apple.
Is the connection cable from the back of the LED display much shorter than the 30-inch ACD, so much so that the Mac Pro needs to be positioned on one's desk next to the display rather than somewhere underneath the desk? How long exactly does this cable measure?

I have the latest release of the 13 Macbook Pro. I have searched endlessly on the internet on ways to connect my macbook to an rca inlet on a television but find the information to be outdated or all about hdmi. I would like to run a cable(s) from my mini display port to the rca jack on my television. I only have one HD compatible television so I would like to have a more flexible solution for the rest of the aging televisions in my domicile.

I'm hooking up an external monitor to my 24" iMac. It's being hooked up DVI, problem is, when it's plugged in, the picture on the Dell monitor I'm trying to use just jutters and shakes. I tried different resolution options and none worked, most just left the Dell monitor black. I calibrated the monitor and that stopped the shaking, but when I look at the monitor everything is too big and there are still tons of "bright" pixels in the background, along with some faint lines..it just isn't right.

I have some tv shows downloaded that I'd like to watch on my HDTV. I currently have a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter and a 3.5mm male to male audio cable that I plug into the TV and the headphone jack on my MBP.
1. The audio does not work. Is there a setting somewhere I must enable?
2. Would I be better off buying some other sort of cable?
3. What are my options for displaying my MBP screen on the TV and where do I access these options? When I hook up the adapter it just extends my screen to the TV.
Perhaps I need a MBP to TV guide of some sort. I can get this done easily with my old PC but I"d really like to do it with my MBP.

I have a Macbook Aluminium late 2008 (first gen), and am looking to buy an external monitor. The ones I have my eyes on right now is the Acer 24", which comes with VGA and HDMI.
- Which cable I need to hook my Macbook up to the external monitor? Should I get a miniDisplayPort to VGA adapter or a miniDisplayPort to HDMI adapter? What is the difference?
- Does audio work if I hook it up? ie. will I get sound if I plug my headphones into my new external display (NOT into my macbook)?
- Do I have to run it as dual displays at all times? or can I close the lid of the macbook, but still have the computer running on my external display?
- If I get the new Macbook Pro (when it comes out), do I need a new cable? I heard that it runs using the thunderbolt connection, does that mean I will need to get a new thunderbolt to HDMI or VGA adapter cable?
- And lastly, do I have to buy the apple branded cable adapters? Or will other (cheaper) ones do?

hooking up three external monitors to my macbook pro (mid 2010).
The only serious (not homemade) solution is the Matrox TripleHead2Go DP Edition, but this solution only gives me a max resolution of 4080x768 (3x 1360x768).
Unfortunately I dont believe that would be enough to satisfy me needs.Â
