Software :: No Access To Folder On ReadyNAS?

Jul 12, 2008

I was playing around with access rights on folders on my ReadyNas drive. I wanted to restrict access to a folder on the drive, and subsequently accessed the file info window. The only available user was "everyone", and I changed the rights to "No access" (dont know if this is what is says in english, as I have a Swedish version of MAC OS X 10.5). Anyway, after this, I am unable to change it back, so the folder is locked, I can not open it, even as administrator. I cant erase it.Nothing. What can I do to regain control of this folder and the files within it again?

Hardware :: Xbox Cannot See ReadyNas?

Mar 20, 2010

I'm having a hell of a time getting my Readynas Duo to stream content to my Xbox 360. I cannot even see it on the xbox.AT&T router-----ethernet cable---->Airport Extreme------ethernet cable------->ReadyNas Duo

I have both the Airport Extreme and the ReadyNas configured to be in DMZ mode via the system setup on the at&t router. if you're wondering why I'm using 2 routers, its because the airport supports 802.11N and gigabit ethernet. I do have the ReadyDLNA streaming service turned on.The xbox cannot see the readynas downstairs. It's plugged in via ethernet to the STB (set top box) by the TV. It does get an internet connection, but not able to stream media. It did display the ReadyNas under PCs once for about a second.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Access The Library Folder In The Home Folder?

Jun 9, 2012

It appears that the Library folder that is in the Home Folder (e.g./Users/Home/Liberary)has been made invisible in OS 10.7.x. However I have seen it because after converting samples Logic showed me the folder and its contents. I would very much like to move the samples from their present location in this folder on the startup disk to the EXS 24 samples folder  on the external RAID array that is dedicated to this purpose - - but I don't know how to make the Library folder visible.

Within a user account, is there a way to prevent someone from opening a folder (in documents or images, for example) without a password? Ideally, anyone can see the folder, but when someone double clicks to enter the folder, a password pop up would appear before continuing.

MacBook Pro :: Access A Folder That's Not Shared?

Mar 19, 2012

My MacBook pro (snow leopard) has had a major issue and the screen boots up with big colour blocks on it. Rendering it useless.

I've plugged another MacBook in via FireWire and it can see my shared folders. So it looks like its booting up and hard drive may be okay.

However I have vital files in my desktop and desktop is not shared, so i don't have permission.

Us there anyway to get to these files sobi can back them up before I hand the laptop over to Apple to be fixed. Basically I have some really important documents I badly need.  It's my fault for not backing up

OS X :: Downloads Folder Could Not Be Opened - No Access Privileges

Dec 27, 2008

Error message: "The folder 'Downloads' could not be opened because you do not have sufficient access privileges." I get this error message both on my computer and in time machine. I sent in my comp to apple they replaced the hard drive to my surprise; I created a brand new user account without reloading any info off time machine. Then once that account was created I opened the migration assistant utility and restored certain information off of time machine. I then deleted the 'new' account. Now I'm on the restored account and I do not have access to particular folders on the macintosh hd. in time machine I am blocked from accessing them as well. I googled a lot and some say its a MAC address, but I'm not so sure that's the case for my particular situation. Lot of important files are locked up that I need to access asap!

OS X :: Unable To Get Permission To Access Applications Folder?

Jan 15, 2009

So my father got a new Macbook and I was trying to transfer over some of my files. I turned on file sharing (on my own computer, MBP) and accidentally removed myself from the permissions list for the Applications folder. Stupid, I know.

Now I can't access anything: Any application, System Pref., Time Machine, etc.......

Applecare's solution is to reinstall Leopard, not sure where the hell the disk is now. But I know I still have it. Is this the only course of action? Would repairing my permissions solve it? (using the install disk to access it)

Even our other mac can't seem to access the folder, so if any mac makes a folder no one can access it.

OS X :: Cannot Open Disc Image Folder - No Sufficient Access Privilege

I have a password protected disk image that mounts, but when I mount it there's a lock that shows up in the icon and I can't access the contents- "The folder "Disk Image" could not be opened because you do not have sufficient access privileges." When I Get Info it has my account, (unknown) and "everyone" all set with custom access. Ignoring ownership does nothing, and I can't change the permissions. I can't get at it via Terminal, and sudo chmod doesn't work either. How can I get at the contents of this disk image?

MacBook :: Installed Snow Leopard Can't Access To User Folder That Contains Everything?

Mar 12, 2012

I have just installed Snow Leopard on my MacBook, and now all my applications have disappeared from my desktop plus I can't access to my User folder which contains everything including CS4 package. It tells me that I don't have permission to access these folders, which there is only 1 account user on this Mac.

Help!!! What do I do to get a permission to use my old folders from Leopard (10.5)?  And yes, I have backed up everything on my external hard drive before I installed this Snow Leopard! I was assured that I won't lose everything when I have loaded this on, only difference is the software is updated and newer apps but now I can't look into anything I had on my Mac!

OS X Mavericks :: Can't Access Shared Folder On External HD Plugged To WinXP PC

My Macbook runs with Mavericks and I can't access to a folder which is shared on a external HD plugged to a PC with windows XP. That was possible with my old Macbook with 10.5.

For the shared folders which are in the internal HD of the PC, no problem.

I precise that I would like accessing with the "Shared" menu in Finder sidebar. If I use "Connect to Server", I'm able to see in the folder, but not to open the "children folders", excepted if I reuse "Connect to Server", by complementing the path, etc
