I have an iMac G5 (Power PC) with OS X version 10.4.11. I also have an Epson Stylus Color 1160 printer and an Epson Stylus Pro 3800 printer. Last August I lost access to the Utilities in my 1160 driver meaning that I could not make nozzle checks or cleans. I was emailed a lengthy procedure from Epson that would overcome the problem. Expecting this to take some time, I delayed following the advice until yesterday. Apart from the inaccessible Utilities for the 1160, both drivers were working OK. As instructed by Epson, I removed both printer drivers and first reinstalled the 1160 driver but my Printer Setup Utility could not find it. After several fruitless e-Talk sessions with Epson I contacted Apple. They told me that I had been doing everything correctly but they discovered (through Google) that the driver for the 1160 does not work with OS 10.4.11. Knowing that I had been able to use an Epson driver before I discovered through Google that a later version was available on the American Epson site. I downloaded this and the 1160 worked fine with access to the Utilities as I needed. I then reinstalled the 3800 driver but when I attempted to use it from Photoshop it did not give me the Print Settings and Color Management options that I need. I still have these options with the 1160. I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this problem and now I have even lost the access to the 1160 Utilities again. I have run the Disk Utility First Aid many times. It shows an ever-increasing list of Permissions (all problems related to Epson) but although it 'repairs' them when I verify again they are still there. I seem to be creating more problems rather than solving them.
After the last software update my printer wasn't recognizing ink cartridge. So I uninstalled its software. Now I can't find its drivers anywhere. Epson's website says check your Mac software updates and doesn't offer to download the driver directly. But there are no available updates for my computer as of now. How do I find and install the driver?

I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard and at the end of the upgrade the printer drivers failed to load. I have since updated them myself (Epson BX305) but still get an error message 'rasteroescpll failed'. I have an IMac previously running 5.8.0 and now running 6.3.0.
I purchased an Epson CX8300 recently to work with my iMac and MacBook. It works fine with both via USB connection. However, when set to print wirelessly via an Airport Extreme Base Station, the print jobs don't ever appear in the print queues on either systems. I tried switching to the Gutenprint driver but this just spits out one blank page after another.
I have just upgraded my Macbook 2.2GHz Intel with 2 GB RAM and 250GB HD from 10.5 to 10.6 My Epson stylus photo R1800 printer has stopped working. I have downloaded the 'drivers & utilities combo package' from the Epson website, installed, restarted etc but still nothing being printed.
I am having trouble installing my new espon artisan 730. When I add the printer to the print queue selection, it says that software is available from Apple for download. When I click download and install, it then tells me that the software isn't available and I can't install the printer.
Hi, my brand new iMac 21.5" (just 2 weeks old) does not have the appropriate driver for my printer. My printer is a Samsung CLX-3160fn. The iMac has lots of other Samsung drivers, including one that's close (for the 3170 series), but the close one does not work.
Went online to search for driver but was not able to find one for Mac. Does this mean my printer is just not compatible with my iMac?
I reattached my Epson Perfection 1650 Photo scanner to my Mac G4 (Sawtooth) desktop today after updating the drivers and all to OS 10.4, which is what is on my computer. (The updated drivers also work for 10.5, which is on my laptop, but that doesn't matter here.) When I hit the Smart Panel icon on the desktop, the computer went to Classic mode, for some reason, even though the updated software is for OS X. I was able to get a Twain window, but when I clicked on any of the options for scanning, I get a message saying that the scanner is not recognized (something about a bus). I looked at all the available FAQs at the Epson Web site, but they are not helpful or relevant. For example, one told me to turn off Scan Monitor in Extensions, but of course, there is no Extensions Folder in OS X. One other FAQ suggested reinstalling the software that came with the scanner, but that was way back when I used OS 9.2.2, so how could I then bring it up to 10.4?
Most of the other FAQs were for people with Windows, so of course, those didn't help at all. The Ready light is on; all the cables are plugged in properly. I'm ready, willing, and able. I can't get Epson support, because the scanner is out of warranty, and the Epson online helpers (private) want a good deal of money to provide an answer. Granted, I don't have to pay them unless I am not satisfied with the answer, but I'd rather not have to sell the farm, when I could get a new scanner for only about twice what they are asking to give me an answer. OR (breathlessly hoping) if I can get some ideas here. I have a lot of pages to copy and send to someone, and now I'll have to copy them manually at the local store or across town, at my mother's, and then send them through the mail. It all seemed so straightforward and simple: scan and send to the eager recipient.
I have a Epson Stylus C45 printer USB and It is not fully compatible with Mac OS X 4.4 specially ref. printing preferences, so I have searched over the internet and found a driver. I am able to choose only Standard, for example. Is there any other driver better than CUPS+Gutenprint v5.0.0-rc1?
I have and old and useful printer -Epson Stylus Color 440- and just bougth a cable for connecting it to USB port. Add a new print on its Print and Scan Preference Panel and it was recognized inmediatly, but I was told there was not any driver to that printer.
Tried to set "Epson Stylus Color Series" on its driver but when I went to print, printer seemed to work but does not eject any ink. It seemed as if I were ran out of ink; its car moved over the places occupied by the photo and sounded as normal printing, but not a drop of ink. I checked on an older windows pc, and ink is full, printed normally. I also looked for its drivers on Epson pages, but it seems there are only available for previos Mac OSs, not for X.
A son told me that in his Snow Leopard MacBook White there's a dirver called "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" on his Print and Scan Driver Menu; haven't tried to print from his MacBook yet, and as I searched, those are open drivers.
I wonder if I can download and install that "Epson Stylus Color 440 gutenprint" from the web, of if there's a way to copy it from my son's Macbook, when he comes and check.
I have a Mac OS X with 10.6.5 version software. The Guttenberg (excuse spelling) driver works but the graphics printing has faults. So I would like to get the Epson (Epson Stylus Photo r200) driver working on the Mac. The Epsom software is the latest easyprint 2009 and after installation it was available for selection in the list of available printers and seemed to install okay. I have tried reinstalling, rebooting and have followed Epson's troubleshooting pages including resetting the printers and repairing permissions.
If I click "options supplies" on the "printers and faxes window" and then "utility" and then "open printer utility" it tells me that Epson printer utility 4 cannot be executed or the printer is not registered for this software and cannot function properly using the current connections. Is there somewhere else on the computer where I have to tell it to use the USB to print or do I have to register it with the computer or with Epson?
I have Mac OS 10.7.3 I keep getting the message 'there was problem connecting to server epson 6649b7. I go to that printer, which was never an active printer, but it will not allow me to delete it. The only option I am given is resume printing / supply levels / printer setup. Even if I correctly choose Epson WF600 as my default printer, I still get that message popping up constantly.

Just out of the blue, I can't print using my epson 600, a multi use printer that I have set up on my network.
The strange thing is my scaning driver is there and working, but my wireless printer is not there. I can see my Epson Printer, but its not the wireless driver, its the older driver for using the cable.
I've been using the Epson R340 printer w/my g4 forever. Now all of a sudden I can't print. I've reinstalled drivers from epson's website, nothing. Then I found some existing epson drivers on my HD using spotlight. Tried installing those, but repeatedly got "could not install hardware, there were some errors". What's strange is that via Epson Printer Utility I can do nozzle checks, ink level checks, etc., which tells me the computer is connecting w/the printer. Except when it comes to printing.
Have macbook running OS X 10.5.7. Bought an Epson NX100 printer from Target for $30, it says Mac compatible, but my macbook won't recognize the printer. I tried installing the new printer but there is no "Epson NX" from the drop down menu.
Usually with new printers you can just plug it into the USB port, install new printer, and you're set.
I just got the Epson workforce 615 and after hours of trying to connect this printer to my airport I give up....
Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to do this?It just does not want to connect to my airport network no matter what I do. I have downloaded all the drivers/software off the epson site to no avail.
I have an Epsom PX-V630 printer (a Japanese model) which comes with two types of connecting cable - one the standard USB and the other a scuzzi type with about 40 pins. The cable plug is labelled USB Printer Converter by-Direction. I can physically connect the printer to my Mac Mini (running Leopard) with this cable, but I get a "communication error" message when I try to print. Is it possible to use this port with Leopard so my wife can connect her PC (running Vista) to the printer's USB port? We were able to network the printer this way when I was running an older Mac with system 9.2.
Can anyone talk me through connecting to an Epson printer through EpsonNet?
- basically a mini print server like the ones you used to see a lot of before HP JetDirect etc took off.
We connect to any number of HP and Canon printers, but one of my art departments has an Epson Stylus Color 1160 which is connected through one of these. One mac is connected to it, I cannot connect the other three macs to it, I have tried everything, every kind of printer connection, and putting what meagre information I can get into all the windows in the printer connection dialogue. Is it even possible to get an IP address from this thing? Because entering the queue that shows up in the Profiler of the mac that is already connected does nothing.
All Macs are running 10.4.11. I understand Epson have issues with 10.5 but it doesn't apply in this case. I pride myself on being able to connect anything to anything but I've got to say I'm stumped here, it might as well be in Swahili. Also, I have downloaded the Epson 1160 Driver for Mac OS 10.x from Epson, it asks for a re-start after installing, after the re-start it doesn't appear to show up, just the Gimp-print driver that is bundled with Mac OS, which would be fine actually, anything would be fine. I already bought an Epson R1800 to replace this thing but the color on it is atrocious so we're back to the 1160 as the only decent real-color-proofing we have.
Went to print out on my Epson C62 and got the message 'Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. Contact your dealer for replacement.' Having Googled I find the ink pads need cleaning, but then you have to reset the print counter. To do this you use a utility which is for a PC only. So I'm stumped.
I can't print or even find my Epson C86 printer(s). I tried to add the printer and got the message "successful-ok-conflicting-attributes". I tired to reinstall the printer driver and got the message that i needed Administrator privileges.
I've just loaded mac OSX 10.5.1 onto my Powerbook G4, and I've lost my Epson Stylus Colour 860 printer driver?
I've gone into the Print & Fax Pref's to add a printer, but there are no printers listed? I've also looked on the Epson printer drivers to download and there doesn't seem to be any to support any OS later than 9?
I recently purchased a mabook pro and would like to make it wireless printing with my espon printer...the epson has already been installed by putting the usb cord in but i wish to make it wireless so I don't have to use the cord all the time, how can I go about this...
I have a Apple mac and currently my Epson deskjet printer is connected to it via usb cable. My wife and I both have Windows XP laptops and I would like to know if it is possible to send word documents to the printer over the home wifi network. This would save having to take the usb connector out of the imac and plug it into the laptop, also the imac drives the Epson so much better than the HP laptop my wife uses. Then just to be brave is it possible to print documents directly from my iphone for super braveness, my wife's blackberry.
I recently reinstalled my operating system (OS 10.4) from the original system disks in a vain attempt to stop a problem with Mail (it has started demanding my password repeatedly before it will send any mail). I then had to download and reinstall all the various upgrades since.
Since then it no longer recognizes my Epson SC740 printer. It won't let me install the driver from the original CD - it comes up with the error message "You cannot open the application 'Installer' because it is not supported on this system."
Well, after sitting on the snow leopard fence for a while, I decided to install it this weekend. I now am unable to print to my Epson Artison 800 printer. Apparently I need a Driver for it, but the Epson site is a bit confusing when trying to select exactly what I need to download.
