Similar to the threads of inquiries regarding error 3259 in the Entourage, I'd like to know why I can't send out mails using my default server at work from home. I used to be able to do this with no problems at all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble sharing an iTunes library over my wireless connection at home. This error happens on my iMac G5. I can see the shared libary on my PowerBook. When I click on the shared library after about 2 minutes this error pops up.
The shared music library " Ray's PowerBook" is not accessible for an unknown reason. (-3259)
Check that any firewall software running on either the shared computer or this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689.
The firewall is off on both Macs. I can't seem to find anything on the net about this error. Any idea how I can fix it?
I have Entrourage linked to my bigpond and orcon accounts. For some reason it has suddenly started not being able to send messages, but can still receive messages. I have not changed any of my settings so don't understand why it suddenly says "An operation on server timed out. The server may be busy...."
I can still send emails via my hotmail account though which is also set up through Entourage.
I have recently changed internet providers so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.
I changed my settings Default SMTP from 25 to 587 as per response on your site to same problem in 2007.
I am running Mac OS X 10.5.7 2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo with 1gb 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
I am running a wireless internet connection.
After update to iTunes 11.2.2 i get the error "3259 stopped" when i try to get my potcasts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've seen lots of threads go by about importing e-mail from one program to another, and my case is seemingly simpler, but I have had no luck so far.
I want to import into Entourage the e-mail from a backup of the disk. I know how to import mail into Entourage from other e-mail programs and I know how to import mail into Entourage from an archive created by exporting from Entourage, but I cannot figure out how to import from a backup of the folders under the "/Users/(username)/Documents/Microsoft User Data" folder, under which is where Entourage stores mail.
I have Entourage for mac 2008 and im trying to transfer to another app the emails that i have sent and the ones that are sent to me. How can export those emails and to what format? Im not interested that those mails can be worked in Entourage again pdf would be fine!
View 3 Replies View RelatedReally struggling here to figure this out. I had success with Mail but at work we are required to us Entourage. If someone can give me some guidance. I am able to set the rules but when I view the folders I assign them it does not repopulate latest emails that fits that criteria.
Hopefully I make sense and someone can give me some guidance.
I recently switched from PC to Mac. I have Entourage and Address book, but I really really prefer the format of Outlook. I will only be using it for the contacts/notes section, not an email database. But I love the ease of the contacts. Can anyone suggest a similar program for Mac that I could adapt to?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSeveral times a day, Entourage will launch by itself. It's quite annoying. I haven't noticed a pattern either. I do have My Day running all the time (so I don't have to look at the huge Entourage!) and I have alerts on. Everything in iCal is off and I don't have Mobile Me. I tried turning off everything in Entourage (save the Office daemon which I use for Word, etc.) and using iCal but it still launched by itself. I use Mail, not Outlook.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn entourage, I used my username, pw, domain, exchange server, ldap, and public folders server. This worked to allow me to get contacts, sync perfectly etc.
However, when I try to enter my username, pw, and put the incoming/outgoing server from the 1 exchange sever in entourage, I get an error that says it can't connect to the server. Is there a way to find out how to find where the info is that I need from entourage? My school isn't supporting mail, only entourage.

I have the Student ed of Mac Office 2008. The only thing I can't do with Entourage is Exchange right? Every time I try to send an attachments. It lets me pick the file(s), no problem here. Then I tell it to send it. Once the mail has been sent, the attachments don't open on the original or the sent copy. If I try to open it though Entourage I get "Entourage Error Unknown". If I save the file and try to open it that way. It will launch the right app to open the file correctly. But the App will tell me this file is corrupted or incomplete. Now it's not allowing my to save the attachments. I get some "Entourage Error Unknown". I get this on both sides with the original post and with the sent file.

There are like a total of 1200 and I really don't need all of them on my new iBook so I've limited it to 200 of close contacts and saved them as vcf. Then I emailed myself the vcf file and try opening it on my new iBook which happily imports them into Address Book instead of Entourage (it also seemed to lose alot of the details, like categories).
I look for option in Entourage to import a VCF and it doesn't seem to have it. How do I import a VCF into Entourage? Or how can I these select contacts onto my laptop installation of Entourage?

I have been going around in circles, in the office 2004 identities there are 4 Main identities? I have switched users and still cannot retrieve any data, also I have just found out that I should have Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Entourage Preferences & Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.DatabaseDaemon.plist they are not in Library Preferences?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi had a mobile me account....i migrated to iCloud. i still use my email address with [URL]. iCloud works on my iphone and i get the email pushed to my iphone. however, i now get server time outs from my computers when accessing the emails. i suspect it has to do with the mobileme shutting down. so what should my settings be now in Entourage?

Removed and reinstalled MS Office 2008 and I still get the error and cannot open Entourage and it is affecting Word, Excel and PowerPoint
I have rebuilt the database but still get errors:
ERROR: Failed to open database [Head]
ERROR: Corruption opening database [16003:""]
I have a network of about 40-50 Macs running Tiger or Leopard and they are all using Entourage 2004 configured for Exchange.
This means that their mailbox email is backed up on the Exchange Server.
However, in Entourage users can archive email out of their mailbox into an area within Entourage called 'Folders On My Computer'. Once the emails go in there its removed from their mailbox. My concern is that this area of Entourage is on the local hard drive and we don't backup local hard drives. We tell all users that their documents must be on the network fileserver to get backed up nightly.
Does anybody else here look after networked Macs running Entourage with Exchange and have a backup plan for the local Entourage database ?
I've never had to do a return receipt before. I needed one today and could not find a place on the menu system to allow this.

I work for IT Support in a company and i've been handed a Mac that gives 9 beeps (3 short, 3 long, 3 short) which signals a system board problem. I am trying to get the user set up on a Windows laptop as we have no spare Macs for him and i am transferring the data from the Mac HDD to my laptop. The problem is, the emails on the HDD are in the database format and not the .mbox format. How do i convert it to a useable PST?
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy wife runs all her emails through entourage. This is a HUGE memory hog and just generally a big and bulky mail client. She has an 07 black macbook running snow leopard. Is there an easy way to simply import ALL her mail to a apple MAIL. I get that I would have to reconfigured where her email accounts dump their mail in the future. But I'm just wondering how I would get her THOUSANDS of emails over to MAIL, and if it is even possible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a switcher so sorry if this is a dumb Q (and yes I searched first) but Entourage keeps getting the same emails from my POP account. I have it set to leave messages on the server for a few days (3 I think) before deleting b/c my Blackberry pings the account for emails and if I leave for a weekend I want the BB to find the emails.
But whether I sort the emails into folders, delete them from Entourage, or leave them in the inbox, Entourage retrieves them - again. And I then have to delete them all.
ALso somewhat strangely, it doesn't retrieve them every time it checks the POP account (which it does every minute), only every once in a while.
