I have a problem with safari. Safari quits unexpectly and appear this message : the application safari quit unexpectedly. the problem may have been caused by the flash player-10.4-10.5 plug-in. When i am trying to open again appear this message(SIMBL error. failed to load the safarisniffer plugin. error(1000) creating CGSWindow) and the safari's screen is white Safari's Version 5.0.6 I have the Leopard and 10.5.8 versionProcessor Name:Intel Core 2 DuoProcessor Speed:2.4 GHzMemory:4 GB
Many extensions on extensions.apple.com cannot be installed. However, extensions that I installed before, no problem, such as AdBlock, Bing, Echofon. Others, will not install, it will be stuck at installing. And Safari may lose response after a while. I initially noticed that if I try to install YouTube5 which I downloaded myself, Safari will immediately lose response.
Tried solutions:
- Reset Safari - Run OnyX - Repair disk permissions - Deleting all the extensions; extensions I installed before will install, others won't - Deleting Clicktoflash and Glims
I put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!
Since updating Safari recently to 5.1.5, if I choose the Mail Link to This Page command, instead of opening Mail.app with a new email with the link pasted in, it launches Google Chrome and, in Chrome, goes to the email login page for Google webmail. If I choose the Mail Contents of This Page command, I get an error message stating: "Safari can't create an email message because Google Chrome.app doesn't support sending webpages from Safari. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send webpages." Safari is set as my default browser. This behavior started immediately after the 5.1.5 update.I use these commands pretty regularly and, through many version of mail.app and Safari, there has never been a glitch. Any ideas, folks? Or is this a bug introduced by 5.1.5 or some other recent Software Update? (Software updates are completely up to date and on 10.7.3.)
I too updated my computer last night and now I get a "safari quit unexpectedly" error. I read on a post that I need to go to ~/library/safari, but when i get to ~/library there is no "/safari" so i don't know where to go in order to follow the next steps.
A few days ago my email was hacked into which sent a spam email to all my contacts. I changed my password to that account, warned everyone in my contacts, and haven't had a problem with email since. However, I tried to do the 'delete all cookies' again and when I go to safari/preferences/privacy...there is nothing on that screen under that tab. Not even a question mark. I changed my history items to be removed every day from every week but don't think that would be the issue.

Restored my HD this AM from a TM backup and am experiencing a lot of problems which include (1) Safari and iPhoto crash upon launch, (2) Mail launches but crashes when I attempt to access an email, (3) I have several "offline images" in my Aperture Library and any attempt to access metadata results in a crash.
I've had PithHelmet installed on the older version of Safari, but since I've updated to 4.0 it no longer works. So I've tried to uninstall PithHelmet from my Mac by deleting the "PithHelmet" folder located in /Library/Application Supports/, but nothing seems to happen - I still get this pop-up message whenever I launch Safari. I have tried re-installing Safari but I get the same problems!
What I found was that this behaviour was reset between reboots. That is, sometimes the problem was gone; other times, I would have to restart repeatedly, hoping for a "good boot."In July I found a good boot was hard to find. I was out of town for a month after that. When I returned, there were only bad boots. I tried to update Safari, but "an unexpected error occurred." The next day, the machine chimed on boot, showed the grey Apple plus a progress bar (which never got very far), and turned off. That's all it does now.

Before I get yelled at, I'll get in first, yup, I'm a newbie! Also before i start, I'm a windoz person and is possibly part of the reason I can't sort this out on a mac.I am helping a friend build a wikispace and whilst we can write text to it, we cannot upload any pictures to it any more. it did work a week ago though...it comes up with <URL> picname.jpg error during upload - please try again (io error) in both safari and firefoxuploading pictures to facebook doesn't work anymore- maybe this is a clue too?We are using mac osx 10.5.8.If I use my PC and log in to the wikispace, we can upload pix no problems at all.
all of a sudden my safari won't open it brings up a message that says: Safari cannot be opened because of a problem.Check with the developer to make sure Safari works with this version of Mac OSX. You may have to reinstall the application. Be sure to sure to install any available updates for the application and Mac OSX.
My wife registered my daughter for a school admission process online. We received a confirmation in a safari window and it said we need to print it. But then my mom closed that window in error. Now that program registration is full. Is there anyway I can retrieve that window. It is really important for us as a family.
I have an iMac with the latest Lion OSX. Will that page be saved somewherein the temporary files or cache? I also have full time machine backup.
When using Safari I have begun to notice this box appearing as I try to reach any website: "Safari is no longer responding because of a script on the webpage and then it lists what ever web page I have tried to reach. It then asks me if I want to "stop" the script or allow it to continue. I must "continue" it in order to reach my web page/ If I press "stop" it just keeps coming back and back and I can't continue. What is wrong with my computer or Sarari or both?

I can't get Safari to launch. I keep getting the error message that Safari unexpectedly quit. I am using OS X 10.4.11 and Safari 3.1.2. Firefox works. I tried launching Safari with another user and the same thing happens. Do you know what the problem might be?
I was all set up and running fine for years running safari and getting my files downloaded to my chosen place on the desktop. I am also using Safari Speed and Safari Stand as accessory apps. Everything was working GREAT until a program called GLIMS sent a notice while online that the program had been updated. I clicked on Update and then all the problems Started. I removed GLIMS from my computer but I still can't download ANYTHING as I did before. When trying to download a file like Safari Speed, I get this message in the Activity Window of Safari as seen below:
