Safari :: Any Option For Smooth Page Scrolling For Win 7?
Apr 26, 2012Is there an option for smooth scrolling in Safari for Windows 7? It is very hard to on the eyes to see the text page jump around. Mac OS seems fine.

Safari :: Highlighting Text While Scrolling Down To Page
Feb 8, 2012In safari for macbook pro, I can't seem to highlight text while scrolling down through to the end of a page. (Start at the top, click, hold, drag down). The highlighting stops at the bottom of what I see on the screen and can't go past to the bottom of the page. However, it works going upwards (start at the bottom, click, hold, drag up. I don't think it's a problem with the computer because, the highlighting works with all my other programs. It's just safari that's not doing it. I'm aware of the hold shift and click method, but I'm just used to the other way.

Apr 6, 2012Scrolling pages is jerky. It can't even keep up with my typing speed. When I am done writing a sentence, I wait and watch it type back to me. This list of websites that don't work completely correctly also is growing. These do not happen in Firefox...I hate to abandon Safari and lose all my bookmarks. What can I try to do?

Nov 6, 2009Anyone else think there should be an option to invert the up/down scrolling on the Magic Mouse to make it like the iPhone? Try it for yourselves - just flip the Magic Mouse around and try to scroll. You'll find that it's surprisingly natural and intuitive.

Oct 22, 2010Sometimes when I'm using Safari, and I scroll the page up and down, its not a very smooth scroll, it kind of lags a little. Especially when the page is still loading.
Actually this happens on both my iMac and Macbook Pro, so I'm starting to think that this is normal, and it might be because I don't have the fastest broadband connection. Because when I take my MBP to my mom's house, Safari is always smooth, and she has a pretty fast connection there.
Also, when I go to certain forums, and there a lot of GIF. images, it lags a lot.
OS X :: Can't Get To Google Search Page And Get Error Message Safari Can’t Open Page
Jul 13, 2010I seem to be having a hell of a time with all google related things. About 50% of the time I can't get to the google search page and get the error message Safari can't open the page [URL] because Safari can't connect to the server. When I am able to get into gmail, I am constantly being disconnected from gchat, like every 5 minutes. When it disconnects, it will try to reconnect, most of the time unsuccessfully. I then get the error message, unable to reach gmail please check your internet connection. This happens no matter what browser I use. However, when I try to connect from my husband's PC (same network), everything is fine. I've tried emptying my safari cache, tried uninstalling and re-installing both safari and firefox, and I am out of ideas. Any ideas about what is going on, and how I might fix this issue. I searched through the google help, and there were similar problems posted (none recently), but no answers on how to solve the issue. This has been going on for about a week now, and it's driving me up a wall.

Safari :: New Page Opens With Last Page
Feb 10, 2012using my white macbook, everytime i fire up safari it opens the last webpage that i visited, eg facebook or the login page of my bank account.
i have checked in preferences pane - ensured that the new windows and new tabs open with "homepage" and set the homepage field to [URL]( i even manually typed it in and selected "set to current page" to make sure it was ok ). then i go onto facebook, quit safari, re-open it and .. it's the facebook page again!Â
i reset safari and this has no effect. it didnt always used to be like this, just recently.
ps - so i used no capital letters, i broke my shoulder last week

I'm running 10.5.2 ... and i've only seen the problem on macbook pros, but the apple support doc implies that it's an os x issue with ATI video cards.

Jun 10, 2009While scrolling in Safari 4 the windows stutters or tears. I didn't have this problem with Safari 3, and I have reset Safari and cleared the Cache. I also get "Keychain Not Found" popping up when I load a new page. It IS out of beta right.

Jul 6, 2010Since installing Safari 5, I encounter the spinning beach ball when I try to scroll down a webpage or scroll between tabs. It appears that I cannot scroll/switch until the webpage is fully loaded.
This is extremely annoying because when my gestures are finally registered, Safari goes wacko trying to catch up with the previous gestures/commands. For example, if I use a swipe gesture to navigate between tabs, when Safari becomes responsive again, it will register all previous swipes and rotate between tabs until it 'catches up'. I hope that makes sense.
When I use Firefox, there is a slight lag, but I'm still able to scroll with only slight choppiness. By contrast, Safari 5 literally freezes for about 5 seconds. As a benchmark, I tried using both browsers while loading [URL]. Firefox worked fine, Safari 5 was crippled.

Sep 22, 2007Before I installed the Logitech software, it was perfect. But without the Logitech software, the other buttons didn't work.
After installing the software, I noticed the scrolling to be very very slow in Safari. Even after maxing out scroll speed in system pref. and the logitech soft, it's still slow!

Closed all webpages with Flash on them and the problem's still there.

I'm sure there's a proper term for it, but what I mean is when you press down on the scroll wheel and a circle appears on screen with two arrows, when you move your mouse up or down it allows you to scroll through long documents quicker. I think Firefox and Internet Explorer have it.
I read that USB Overdrive might be of use, but it wont recognise my mouse (Logitech MX 620).

Dec 4, 2014Ive updated safari to 8.01 this morning, and now when using safari, after a few minutes the multi gesture functions on my trackpad stop working. I can scroll down pages, flick across windows etc. even the accuracy of the cursor is limited (in editing this i tried to highlight some text to delete, but i had move about 10characters the left to get the ones i wanted).Â
