Aug 20, 2014my Macbook Pro is not powering up, Yesterday I connected a camera that has the USB cable with the little transformer. And the Computer suddenly turn off! It´s not working at all... I really don´t know what happened..These are some of the characteristics of the problem:
1) Not even the battery Light its on when I press the Power button.
2) Not even the Light in front of the Mac is on when I press the Power button.
3) There is not even a sound of the cooler fan or anything.
4) When I connect a the power cable the first 10 seconds the light of the cable is off... Then it appears a little "Orange intermittent" light but nothing more happens.

IMac Intel :: Unable To Turn On System / Had Soft Power Down Last Night
Feb 15, 2009I just bought my Intel-based iMac last night and it took forever to turn on out of the box. I guess I made a mistake by doing a "soft" power down last night, because this morning it will NOT turn on. I've tried using the power button and waiting. I've tried unplugging and plugging it back in, and then using the power button, and waiting. Nothing works. I've been a PC user for 20 years and just bought this, my first Mac, last night. I think I've made a huge mistake! How the heck do you turn these things on????

IMac Intel :: Unable To Turn On System / Shut Itself Down And Refused To Power Back Up
Jun 19, 2008I have a 20" intel-based dual core Mac which i have had for about since early 2006, i haven't had any big issues with it until a few days ago when it suddenly shut itself down and refused to power back up. I ran through the checklist that Apple Support provides, including resetting the SMC by unplugging everything and waiting 15 seconds or so but none of it worked. Eventually I just left the power cord unplugged overnight and in the morning I plugged it back in.
After having the power cord plugged in for a few hours and the machine turned off, i tried pressing the power button again and to my amazement it powered back on! Immediately i ran the TechTool Deluxe software that came with my extended protection plan (now expired) and everything was fine. Later that night however, I had left my computer on for a few hours before returning to it and realizing it had shut itself off again. Now I am back to where I started, going through the checklist provided by Apple and am really starting to get concerned. Does anyone know of anything else I can do, short of taking it in to an Apple store? Or is something needed to be replaced?

IMac Intel :: Unable To Turn On System / General Power Was Turned Off For Some Minutes`
Jul 1, 2009my iMac won't turn on. The day before yesterday happened the same thing, but after a few tries with the power button, it eventually turned on - and all ok yesterday. Both the day before yesterday and today, the general power was turned off for some minutes, but the iMac wasn't running. So now, I've tried to reset the SMC, removing everything attached, but nothing.
At least I can clearly hear the tic tic tic button, probably of the timer, because I set up a schedule to let it turn on at a certain hour. What can I do? It's a white iMac, never had a problem.
Power Mac G5 :: Power LED On - Unable To Power Up
Dec 6, 2007I just purchased a used Dual 2.5 GHz Power Macintosh G5 in immaculate condition. Worked fine for a couple of days, though I did notice that the fans would spin up loudly for a few seconds every now and then even while the computer was idle.
I decided to reset the PMU (which I have done many times over the years; I was once an Apple-trained systems engineer)I followed the recommended procedure; only pressed once, etc. Now the computer won't power up! The front power LED comes on and stays on when the AC cord is connected, but the computer doesn't start up or otherwise react to the power button. No fans, no video, nothing.

Power Mac :: G3 Won't Turn On?
Apr 2, 2012Recently, I was using my powermac (About 1-2 weeks ago) and I went on vacation. I came back and it won't turn on. Everything's plugged in, and the power buttons and lights on the mobo light up. I can hear the HD spin up, and begin to read. But, I don't get any video. I've read that it could be the battery and so i replaced it, but it still won't turn on. I've reset the CUDA, installed different RAM, took out expansion cards, but it still won't turn on. Also, when I press the power button it immediately shuts off, which it never used to do. I usually have to wait at least 3-4 seconds of holding it down.

Hardware :: Power Mac G5 Will Not Turn On?
Jul 24, 2008I recently purchased a Power Mac G5 Dual 2GHz from ebay. I tested the computer a couple of weeks ago when I first got it, but wasn't able to actually set it up with all of my music gear until last night. I installed Logic Studio and a driver for my firewire audio interface and started downloading all of the updates. While downloading the updates the computer just turned off. I wasn't in the room, but when I came back in it was totally off. I tried to turn it back on by using the power button in the front and it won't turn on. It clicks once then clicks again a few seconds later, but no light and no power. Everything else that is plugged into the same power strip turns on. I reset the PMU, and even the graphics card just to make sure. I still get nothing. I have exhausted apples support page, and I don't know what else to do.

Oct 14, 2009I have a PowerBook G4 1.67 that shut itself down sometime during the day yesterday, and will not power back up. It's completely unresponsive to the power button, with no signs of life whatsoever.
I've tried resetting the PMU. There has been no new hardware or software installed. This has been tried with 2 batteries, and 2 AC power supplies.
There is inconsistency with the color of the AC power supply tip, as it doesn't seem to indicate the strength of the battery. Regardless of which battery or how much charge is left, the tip is Green, and will flicker Yellow very quickly once, when plugged in. It was Green following the initial shutdown, Yellow when I placed a dead battery in it, and then eventually turned Green. Now, it seems permanently in the Green / flicker Yellow state.
It did fully charge one battery while like this.
Intel Mac :: Won't Turn On SMC Or Power Pack?
Apr 13, 2012Using my iMac today working away and all of a sudden the screen went black, there was no power to the computer at all. I have checked the fuse and that is ok. I am getting power to everything else. I reset the SMC as per Apple instructions on their website. Again nothing.
I then left it turned off for a good 5 mins and then turned on the power. The fans turned on and the mac then chimed, the creen came on and I thought everything was ok. Then the computer turned off, fans and hard drive sped It didnt even start booting to the Apple logo or the log on screen.
I am thinking this is a power issue within the computer and this will need to be replaced. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. My iMac is a 2008 21inch iMac. It is connected to a APC UPS which again all power ports are working, as I have tested that with a desk lamp. What I do normally is turn the UPS when I have shutdown my Mac in the evening and then power it up next day. While the UPS is doing is power self test I then boot the Mac, I am wondering if I should just leave the UPS turned on all the time and just unplug my iMac when I am not using it. Sometimes I do pop it to sleep last thing at night, but recently I just turn it off.
It has had heavy use so I am wondering if it is indeed curtains and I need to buy a new iMac. Maybe it is an excuse to buy a 27inch one! (Would be nice)

Due to some unfortunate tampering with the circuits under the right command key on the built in keyboard, a lot of the keys and the power button are now effectively dead. I'be ordered a replacement top case, but was wondering if I could, in the meanwhile, somehow turn the laptop on. I'd prefer to do this without opening it up, though I could if that's the only way.
I read in another thread, can't find the link now, that disconnecting the battery, connecting mains, then connecting the battery would turn it on, but that doesn't seem to work for me.

Nov 27, 2007And then open the begger up to find the Serial number, prod a few things, close up, then it starts? Anyone advise what's going on. Could it be it was too cold? My office gets cold? Could it be that I am turning the plug off at the switch when I don't use it and then it sometimes is bad to start up after a few days. Someone be strict with me and tell me what I am doing wrong (should I even be turning it off at the switch once turned off?)

Apr 17, 2012My MacBook pro (15" unibody, non-removable battery) will not turn on. The battery claims to be fully charged. The computer will not respond to the power button in any way. I had turned it on previously by draining the battery completely of any charge (draining power, then pressing and holding down power button for 60 seconds). When this occurred the computer booted up and ran fine. However, when I closed the lid, it turned off immediately, never to return. I'm wondering if this is a problem with the battery, or if it's a problem with the logic board.

IMac :: 27" Power Button Needs Pressure To Turn On?
Nov 30, 2009Just got a replacement imac 27 stock C2D yesterday for a defective one I had earlier, however, I couldn't get this new one to turn on till just a few hours ago. I just figured out the power button needs quite of bit of pressure to turn on. Seemingly just pressing it until it clicks isn't enough. Should this be looked at or is this normal?

Jun 6, 20141.turn into black screen after running for about 15 mins, but the system is still running because the keyboard is still functional. After reboot, i record the log as below, it shows that it is a GPU Panic.
2. display would not turn on after pressing the power button but can still hear the apple start up chime and the system keep running with the screen off.
3. after erased the hard drive and re-installed Mavericks. Under a new installed system, it can run normally for about 1 day, after that especially after a shut down or restart, the problems above came back.
I am currently working in Thailand but I have no plan to go back to the US in a short period of time. I brought the laptop to the local apple service, they said it is certainly the logic board or GPU failure and the parts need to be replaced. The cost of the replacement is around half of the price that I paid for this laptop.
