OS X :: Uninstalling Programs On Mac?
Sep 6, 2005I've just switched over from XP and have been problems with uninstalling programs off the Mac (osx tiger). In XP there would normally be a control panel which would show a list of programs on your computer which you could either modify or uninstall. There doesn't appear to be one in mac osx so I decided to drag the file from the applications folder to the trash. It appeared as though everything was fine until I ran a search in spotlight to still find some of the files still on my computer. I was uninstalling Limewire if this helps. I would like to rid my computer of everything associated to this program.

Jul 9, 2009I am new Mac users so I am trying to find alternative programs to the once I used under windows. Some are ok some I 'move to trash' and look for easier to use. When I don't need program anymore I 'move to trash' the program in my applications. Is that enough? I know mac is different, but under windows you needed to run several cleaning programs regularly to clean up all the bits and pieces left behind.

Nov 23, 2009How in the world do I uninstall programs. I downloaded a program called DIVX and it was working for what I downloaded it for but it is nowhere to be found on my harddrive to uninstall it and it is not in my applications list. Does anyone know where it might be on my hard drive? But aside from that alot of programs that are in my applications list do not even have an option to uninstall. I use firefox but if I ever wanted to uninstall it there is no uninstall option, same goes for programs like AIM or Yahoo Messenger.

Jun 28, 2012I suddenly cannot access the several thousand photos in my iPhoto Library. I believe my computer must have automatically downloaded and upgraded the version I previously had. Now I get an error message that reads: The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process for very large libraries may take an hour or more to complete. I still need my images able to be read by previous versions since I go back and forth editing between older desktops. Is there a way to access the photo library without okaying the upgrade? If I reinstall an older version of iPhoto, will I lose the existing library of photos?

Feb 15, 2012I'm using iCloud and popped a couple of images I'd just processed into iPhoto on my iMac.
Went to my MBP so I could upload the images to my website - they appeared in iPhoto in very quick time (impressive) but I needed to locate them in "finder" so I could upload them but had the devil of a time finding them, and still haven't.
I used to use dropbox for this - maybe I'll go back. It was so easy!

Mar 27, 2012New Macbook pro have the latest version of iphoto but it has online file sharing with MobileMe and not icloud. My new ipad has iphoto and it has projects and photo sharing via icloud. Does anyone know how to get the version for the macbook pro that has projects and icould publishing/sharing. I have checked for updates via the app store and downloaded the latest update 9.2.2 but get messages saying this version can only be updated via the app store. I have deleted the app and re downloaded from the app the store yet the version is still the same and mobile me is the sharing option.
