Can I back up my MacBook Pro to iCloud?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with iPhoto on my MacBook. I used to have lots of photo streams as well as the standard auto upload photo stream, but recently I accidentally turned off photos for iCloud in system preferences. I immediately turned it back on but it was too late, the photo streams where gone! All that appeared when I turned it back on was the standard auto upload photo stream. The other photo streams did not load back in to iPhoto. Besides losing lots of photos (This might not be an issue as I just put them on to another computer) the main annoyance is that the photo streams I created and the ones I had subscribed to had disappeared from iPhoto. The weird thing is that these photo streams still appear on my iPhone!! Is there anything I can do to get the other photo streams back on to iPhoto?

I have a album structure in iPhoto like this:
20090101 New Years Day Pics
20090704 4th Of July
20090829 1st Day Of School
20091225 Christmas Program etc. (This is just a sample. I have tons more pics than that.)
When I select all, then export so that I can read them on a pc or at a photo store, All of the pics are stuck in one directory. The album names are lost. I normally back up all of my year's photos to dvds, but to use them, iPhoto will be required in the future. I became concerned that if iPhoto isn't prevalent in 25 years when my grandchildren look at the photos, what will they do? So, what's the best way to keep my naming structure in place so that I can export to JPG's?
I'm getting ready to install Leopard, but I want to make sure all of my data is backed up first. What is the easiest/recommended way to back up my photo's that are in IPhoto to my external hard drive?
View 2 Replies View Relatedis there a way to backup iPhoto's faces and places? I'm looking to transfer to a new mac and don't want to go through the long task of tagging my photos again. I don't have a time machine setup or a hard drive free to use with time machine.
View 6 Replies View RelatedHaving a Time machine backup is all good and such - but it's all in one location, so if something like a fire were to strike at home.. Well, both copies would be gone. So I'm looking for a solution to backup my large iPhoto library - I've searched on this forum and on Google and didn't really come up with a solution.. Anyone have any ideas? I'm aware the inital backup will take forever, but it'll be much quicker afterwards..
Price isn't an issue - but rather, if I need to retrive my data, I don't want to be paying out of the nose..
I recently re-install osx 10.5 on my MacBook. When installing, I selected the backup option. I can find all my files, except my photos from iphoto. Fair sure I've searched all folders, still cant find.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have set my seagate to be used through time machine and I am having the hardest time finding things. After reading a thread I found out how to view my backed up photos in iphoto through time machine. The problem is. We reformatted our IMac, and although I can find the other photos that were saved on there. I cannot find any of the photos that were once in Iphoto, as iphoto is now empty. Do you know where those photos may be or have I lost them all?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSomehow iphoto was deleted from my computer. I was told that it is on my installation disc and I should reinstall the disc. My question is do I need to backup everything on my computer to a external hard drive or can I just install iphoto without the installation disc deleting anything from my computer. I have an IMac and I am running osx leopard.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using an Intel MacBook 2.4 Mhz 2Gb RAM and OS 10.6.5. Time Machine has never successfully backed-up so I have been using Backup which works fine. However I now want to restore just a couple of photos from my iphoto library. Is this possible because it only seems to offer the option of restoring the whole library?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a MacBook and use iphoto. I have about 18000 pictures on it and now there is no more free space on my computer. I bought a Time Capsule and thought I would just move the photos to it. I also have other photos on two separate hard drives from an old PC. I moved some of the photos to the Time Capsule, but now I cannot view them like I can the photos on my MacBook. When I had a PC, I would just use the PC viewing program (that came with the computer) and select a drive and view the photos, but with iphoto I cannot seem to figure out how to view the photos that are on a separate drive (Time Capsule). So now I have a Time Capsule with about 9000 photos (half of what is on my MacBook) and I do not know how to view them. Also, I would like to back everything up on a web based platform like Carbonite. If anyone has any advise, ideas, suggestions, comments, etc.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI did something with my iphoto and when I went to look at my pics they were all gone except the black screen had white outlines of every pic but I couldn't see the pictures. It wanted to build my thumbnail and for whatever reason I didn't choose yes. I think I should have. So, I thought time machine would pull all those photos back. I restored from earlier in the day when it was fine. I had about 4000 photos and after restore I ended up with over 40000 photos. It had put all the clipart and all kinds of photos in there from programs.
Also it duplicated every picture I had at least 3 times. I did go in a delete all the clipart pics. Now I have about 35000 pics. The photos now are not all large size when I click on them. A lot of them are really small when I try to open them. I can't even think about going through all of those pics individually. I thought the Time Machine would restore back to what it was previously with my 4000 or so pics. I'm running iphoto 6 so I can't see the pics when I go into the Finder.
time machine does not backup iphoto library anymore, iphoto library is in previous backups, but since a couple of days it is no longer in the folder picture of my backups.I checked in the exclude and it is not excluded?

I'm using iCloud and popped a couple of images I'd just processed into iPhoto on my iMac.
Went to my MBP so I could upload the images to my website - they appeared in iPhoto in very quick time (impressive) but I needed to locate them in "finder" so I could upload them but had the devil of a time finding them, and still haven't.
I used to use dropbox for this - maybe I'll go back. It was so easy!
