OS X V10.7 Lion :: Still Not Downloaded After 18 Hours?
Mar 20, 2012
I'm trying to dowload a lion upgrade and the lion icon drops down to the icon bar, and the download begins, but after 18 hours it is only 25% of the way through. I pause and resume every few hours in case the process is stuck, but nothing speeds this up. My wifi connection has been fast enough to download big installs like this before in a few hours, so I can't figure out what I need to be doing differently.

I recently purchased my Macbook and I noticed that the battery power is jumping at least an hour every time I check how much battery power it has left. I wanted to know if this was normal.

It's barely half way through and it says "148 Hours Left" which is crazy.. Should I just wait? is this normal? what do I do?

I have received 2 Panic Attack reports in the past 24 hours the first was obvious with the little black window message appearing in the middle of my screen the system was idle at the time with several internet window open and a exel workbook. The second occured overnight when I came to my Mac this morning the screen was black i.e. appeared to be asleep as normal I hit a key and nothing happened, I checked the machine and noted that indicator lights on a USB drive I had connected and this copnfirmed the machine was still on, I had my own panic attack! I did the reboot by turning the off switch off, and then restarted a report was displayed indicating a Panic Attack had occured i.e.Â
"Interval Since Last Panic Report:Â 2366911 sec
Panics Since Last Report:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 2
Anonymous UUID: ******"Â
The report is gibberish to me I wish they would provide a clear indication in these reports to help the non tecky gain some level of understanding as to what may be the problem, that was a mini rant!Â

After upgrading to OS X Lion the machine after som hours do not respond at all to either mouse, spacebar or any other keys on the keyboard. Moving the mouse creates a pattern on the display/screen, but no options appear. The machine appears to going to sleep, but is unable to wake up.The only way to make the machine react, is to use the power button.I have changed the settings so that the machine never goes to sleep, but this has no effect.

I installed the new Lion software without any problems, everything runs great. But my battery life has dropped from 8 hours down to 2 hours.I am constantly having to charge the lap top to make it usable - I may have well purchased a desktop machine if I can only get two hours without charge?

About a month ago, a friend who had just purchased his first Mac emailed me and asked why his Dock DownLoad file disappeared. I had no idea why. He still hasn't been able to reestablish it.
Yesterday, I downloaded something and my Dock DownLoad file vanished. I have tried rebooting, using (useless) Help, Spotlight, Search, and several other things. NO JOY. NO DownLoad file.
1. Does anyone know where to find DownLoad or how to bring it back?
I have experienced several idiosyncrasies with Snow Leopard, but when I call Apple support, they are very nice, but haven't a clue as to why it's happening.
2. Another problem is that the Highlight gets anchored on something in Mail, Word, and some other Apps. When I click somewhere else, the whole area between the "anchor" and what I click on is lit up. Apple doesn't know what causes it. I have to go through multiple machinations to shake it loose. I don't know what it is that causes it or specifically how to "shake it loose". Neither does Apple.
3. When typing in Word or an editor, there are times when the type changes to UpperCase and won;t let go.
Another problem is that, at times, when I click on a file, it fills the screen. Apple is aware of this problem and is trying to find an answer. Nothing, to date.
Apple support can't tell me why the MacMail Inbox spinner disappeared or how to get it back.
There are times when I can't access the hidden Dock. After rebooting and trying other things, the Dock finally shows up but any additions that I have put on the Dock are no longer there.
When I put a DVD in the slot, for the first few seconds, it grinds but does smooth out.
I thought that SL was supposed to get rid of the "foibles". "What happened on the way to the Forum"?
Is anyone finding other SL idiosyncrasies? What are they?
If anyone can help with items 1., 2, and/or 3. I'd be grateful.
BTW, Apple says that items 2 and 3 MAY be caused by the wireless Magic Mouse and/or the wireless keyboard; however, when I use alternates, it still happens.

I was just having a browse through my purchased Apps on the Mac App Store. As you can see I am running Lion 10.7.3, however Lion appears in my purchased items but gives me the option to "Download" instead of "Downloaded".Â
I know its months away but I am concerned about this possibly interfering with the Mountain Lion update. Â

Is it possible to reinstall Lion like the following?Â
Download os x lion from app store
Burn the .dmg to a disc
Insert disc into Mac
Boot, holding down CÂ Â (?)Â
There are several types of dvd's. One i found is dvd +r, the other one was dvd -r.Whats the difference? How do i boot up with the dvd which contains the os x? Holding down C, like the real disc? My original disc is broken after moving my computer while the disc was spinning. It got scratches from it. My computer won't boot for some random problems I know. ive been using my mac to unzip zip arhcive files ive downloaded from the internet and for the past few months ive had to troubles at all. but more recently my mac wouldnt actuallty zip the files. so i started using a free application in the app store called stuffit expander. but now even stuffit expander wont unzip my files. what is happening? the stuffit expander just says it is unable to recognize the file type which makes no sense, and when i use the default unzip application already on my mac it just turns the zip file into a file with the extension .cpgz
