If anyone on here uses aim, have you had issues since using Leopard sending files on AIM(AOL instant messenger)? I am unable to send anyone any type of file on there. I can receive, but I am unable to send anyone anything....any suggestions? I can send files through yahoo...so I'm not too sure why AIM hates me so much.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI like to send pdf files that I am looking at to Mail using "mail selected image". I have done so thousands of times.
Yesterday something strange started happening - the pdfs or images attach fine but all have a thick black 'frame'.
Doing the same from Acrobat is completely normal and as expected.
The only thing I can think of is that I recently installed Safari 5.
I would be interested in finding out if anybody else is seeing this.
I'm pretty new to Mac (4 months)..having finally come from the "dark side". My question is: when you install software (OS X 10.6) does it send files all over the place like Windoze does? And, to uninstall something, is all you do is right-click and "send to trash"? Will that delete any and all files associated with that app?

My mail has stopped being able to receive email from yahoo. Everything is set up properly and it was working fine up until a couple of days ago. Mail seems to have problems connecting to the server.I can receive but not send. When I use the connectivity doctor it stays for ages trying to connect to the yahoo server, sometimes it connects after a few minutes, sometimes it doesn't connect at all. I have no problems sending or receiving emails from my ipod, other computers or yahoo itself, the only problem is with Mail.

I'm unable to send attachments using a either of my 2 Gmail IMAP accounts, one @gmail.com and the other is a business email (ie not a @gmail address). I can send them with no problem via my studio Mac Pro, but my MacBook Pro won't even attempt to send the attachment, with the email popping up saying it Cannot send message using the server.
At first I thought it was because I had Gmail's 2-step authenticaion but again, I've never had problems sending attachments from my Mac Pro. If I log on to my webmail, I can send with no problem on the laptop.
I've removed the account in Mail on my MBP and readded it to Mail with no joy. Does anyone know what could be causing it? I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out why! My MobileMe account can send attachments, though the Mail seems to constantly forget the MobileMe passwords which is also really annoying!
Is there a way to stop Mail from trying to send? (Poor thing has been trying for a day and a half. I'd like to put it out of its misery.)

After the latest iPhoto update a week or so ago, my ability to e-mail from iPhoto has stopped.I get an error: "Your email did not go through because the server did not reply.Check your Internet connection. If the connection is working properly, the email server may be down. Try sending your email again later." This is not the case, standard mails work fine and I have removed and added 2 different types of e-mail addresses in iPhoto and its the same (one a .me and one a sky.com) I have diabled the firewall (just in case) but still no joy.

Under Lion, 10.7.3, on a 2.8GHz Quad Core Xenon.
Have checked, rechecked, deleted, recreated, rebuilt, and did the ancient ritual of the chicken dance, but am always greeted with the Cannot send message using the server smtp.covad.net. Been through all the "resolutions" that I have come across, to no avail. This began two days ago.
I am also unable to send via my iPhone 4 (running iOS 5.1). I can send via the webmail interface for Covad, and the Connection Doctor generates all green.

I have created a new distribution list (contact group) in Address Book. I have tried selecting "Send email to 'group name'" from the contextual menu. The mail window that opens does not have the To/CC/Bcc fields populated at all.I have also tried typing the name of the group in the To/CC/Bcc fields within a new Mail message. The group is recognized, as it shows up in the dropdown, but the fields remain empty once the group name is selected.
