when I'm using Mac Mail, I've found that when I remove a flag from an email, I can no longer find the email.Does any one know where these "unflagged" emails go?

I read this thread [URL] but it doesn't help me. Where could I double-click a flag? In which sidebar? If I double click the sidebar shown in the screenshot there, nothing happens.

However, the file is NOT LOCKED in the "Info" pane.
I tried using a "sudo" command in Terminal to unlock; but was unsuccessful. I do not know enough about Terminal to use it well.
I have seen in several places online that you can set the extended attribute of file or directory to keep it from being backed up. This would be a useful feature for me in preventing various .targets directories in my many Subversion snapshots from being backed up. These .targets directories just hold .o and .a files and are not worth backing up because they are easily regenerated during compile time and do nothing but waste space in a back up.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOSX's Mail.app used to display the actual colored flag in the (classic layout) viewer's flag column; visible and compact. I've noticed recently (since the iOSemite update?) that it displays the words (Red/Orange/ etc.) instead. With a narrow column that used to accommodate the flags, this now shows "R…/O…/ etc. instead. Since my Mail window is only a 1/2 screen wide, there is simply no room for an inch-wide column.
Is there a way to make Mail show the actual flags in that column, rather than the verbose names of the flags?
If not, I can of course rename the flags into a single-character name, so it fits

as an extension to my question regarding RAM utilization, I've decided to upgrade my RAM. I went through the process of removing the underside of my MBP. After taking the screws out and mentally marking which slot they came out of (some are of different size), I pulled the lid up at the black trim area (the "neck" of the display mount) as this was the easiest way to get a non-damaging grip on the metal underside -- read: I avoided using a screw driver on the lid. As I started to lift, I was surprised at the amount of force I needed to use in order to remove the lid; something near the center of the cover was still holding the lid to the underside of the body. In fact, the amount of force I needed to use made me pause to question if I missed an important step other than simply removing the screws. I decided to "go for it" and applied more pressure while pulling the lid up and away from the body and heard a "pop" noise.

When I right click on a group, and click "send to...", none of the email address show up in the TO field, only the name of the Group appears.Previously, I used mac mail and clicking "send to" group would result in all email addresses going right where they're supposed to go.I don't know how I changed the client to Gmail, but if I can't get it to work, I'd like to switch it back.

My wife just called in a panic. She opened an e-mail from Verizon Wireless. The e-mail noted that we had a bill of over $1100 which was completely wrong. Unfortunately she clicked on a graphic within the email and then decided to forward it to me. At that point, her mail app stopped functioning. I have two sets of contacts in my address book, one on local drive and one from iCloud. How do I delete all the contacts from my local drive as they are all out of date?
I have tried deleting the contacts but they keep reappearing. I have tried to create a new group and they keep disappearing! I have read forums and some talk about removing the two addressbook.plist files but I don't even have those in my preference folder...
If I do not have those files, where is my address book storing these contact information and how do I get rid of them? It is driving me nuts having to deal with two lots of each contact and not being able to create groups or delete contacts.

Recently I have not been able to send email using my Verizon outgoing server on the Lion email client. I can receive OK, but the server keeps rejecting something and a window pops up asking me to select a different SMTP server. Before I called Verizon, I decided to see if there were any free eMail clients I could use as a test and the new Eudora showed up when I did a "Bing" search.
I just installed Eudora and after a very quick setup, I sent a message using the Verizon server without any problem, the mail coming into both the Eudora and Lion mailboxes.So the problem is not with Lion, but with the Lion eMail client. I know Verizon does not officially support Macs, but since Eudora works, I have localized the issue to the standard Lion email client.
Anyone else have a similar experience with Verizon or some other ISP in not being able to send eMail?
First, Eudora is an answer. Second - I would like to resolve the problem with the Lion eMail client - it must be some obscure server setting. I know that it used to work, but I am not sure whether it was with Lion or Snow Leopard. Usually when I send an eMail, I use Cloud and was using MobileMe so I did not notice whether or not Verizon's SMTP server was working.
I noticed it today when I could not reply to an eMail that came in on one of my Verizon accounts.

On my old system I had diferent User Name and 3 email accounts under that user. Now if I want to check new emails on this accounts I have to switch users.
Is there any way that I can have all the emails under one user?
