I have an Epson NX 510 printer that I have been able to print on easily up until a few weeks ago. I have upgraded my Macbook Pro to OS X Lion so I got new printer software and still my computer wouldn't recognize the printer all the time. Sometimes I can print and sometimes I can't. What can I do?

I upgrade to Lion after being told that it would upgrade my iLife to iLife 11. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'v been running Leopard on my wife's MacBook Pro since we got it in May. We have a Canon MF4150 attached to it via USB and have been sharing it out from the Mac. I have been using Bonjour and have been printing just fine from both my XP machine and my daughter's Vista machine. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard. I upgraded the drivers to the Snow Leopard compatible drivers from Canon and everything prints fine from the Mac. However, whenever we try to print from one of the Windows machine I get this popup on the Mac: "Canon UFR II Printer Driver key value specified for ticket does not exist.: 15512" And the printer is now "paused" whatever that means. When I try to unpause it, I get that some popup error. I end up having to delete the printer and re-add it to get printing (from the Mac) working again. I've deleted and re-added the printer many times. I even went to far as to remove the drive on the Mac manually (according to Canon's directions) and reinstall. I've deleted/recreated the printers on Windows using the Bonjour wizard.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI had read an article explaining how to configure a Windows 7 PC to print to a shared Mac printer (in Snow Leopard, but I assume it's the same in Lion).Â
So I shared the printer (an IP printer) on my Mac, then followed the instructions to add LPR Printing to Windows 7. I went to 127.0.0.1:631 and saw the CUPS page on my Mac, and the setup the LPR port on Windows 7 with the IP address of my Mac and the Queue name listed for the shared printer in CUPS. Unfortunately, when I enter the port info and click OK, it comes back with the error page listed in the article.Â
I've tried this on two different iMac's (a new 27" and a much older iMac with Snow Leopard). I also used three different Windows laptops (Windows 7 and Vista), and all three gave the same error. Basically, when I setup the LPR port, it cannot "talk" and confirm the settings with the Mac.Â
I've turned off Windows Firewall, tried basically everything I can think of (and I'm a tech, so I've tried a lot!). Anyone successfully printed to a shared Mac printer from a Windows 7/Vista PC? Â

'all of a sudden' (so it seems) my 2 printers in my network do not print printjobs from other macs in my network. It dit work. Nothing really changed, exept some system-updates.
print-share is on, awake out of sleep is on (network-tab). Really there is no reason that it would not work. Still, ... it doesn't.Â
config:
- imac 27" 2011, software updated
- macmini 2010, software updated
canon ip4200, works standard on imac. brother HL-2030, works standard on imacÂ
The charm of the set-up was that I could have my printers in the office and still print from the livingroom (mac mini)Â Â To try to solve the problem I moved the mac mini temporarily to the office, so I have it next to the imac.
Opening the section 'printers and scanners' and then pressing the '+' does however give me 2 differentviews:
- on the imac I get a sub menu, dropping down from the '+'
- on the mac mini I get a new window named 'add new printer' (this is hopefully the right translation - I am on a Dutch system)
This strikes me as odd. I never noticed this before. Maybe this is where the problem lies?Â

Evidently through automatic upgrades my iTunes has upgraded itself to version 7.7.1 - I just tried to open it and got a pop up window telling me that in order to use iTunes I need OS 10.4.9 (I have 10.4.6). How could it have downloaded for an OS that it won't work with? I don't feel like shelling out the bucks for the OS upgrade, and when I tried to install an older version of iTunes, I got another pop up window telling me I couldn't because a newer version was already installed. I'm afraid that if I dump the newer one I'll lose all my tunes.
View 7 Replies View RelatedLast week I got my RAM upgraded from 512MB to 2GB on my Mac mini Intel Core Solo 1.5GHz 2006 model, and I wanted to reinstall Mac OS X Tiger (using the original discs that came with my machine). Just wondering if the RAM has changed (i.e. since mine is now 2GB) the original discs won't work? Cause right now I try slotting in DVD 1 of the installation discs and it just stays on the Apple splash screen with the continually spinning icon underneath the Apple logo - won't go any further. At first I thought it might be either the DVD drive or something else but a friend suggested it may be the RAM that's not making the discs work as according to him the discs will only work with the original hardware and specs (i.e. 512MB RAM) of the machine (unless its a retailer version).
Found out it was partition related that's causing the disc not to boot past the Apple splash screen. I accidentally deleted the hidden OEM partition when messing with partitions (and this is what makes the grey discs ability to boot into the installer). I went to an Apple authorised service provider near my area and they tested a retail copy of the Mac Box Set of Snow Leopard and it booted into it fine - purchased Snow Leopard Mac Box Set yesterday, installed perfectly . If you have Tiger or don't have leopard currently installed, you need to purchase the Mac Box Set of Snow Leopard at approximately $129/$169.
I just purchased a set of Mushkin Apple 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333MHz SODIMM 9-9-9-24 (976647A) RAM for my mid 2011 27" iMac and everything ran great for a few days. I was able to sleep and wake the machine with no problems. Last night I was doing some graphic intensive work on my machine and when I had finished, the fans were still running high but I was going to bed so I put the machine to sleep. Normally the fans would stop at this point but they kept running. I assumed the machine was still hot so it was just cooling after sleeping. The next morning the machine would not wake. I had to do a hard reset to get it to boot up again I tried resetting the SMC and PRAM but it still doesn't wake from sleep. Am I have issues with my RAM?

Just bought a Macbook Air running 10.9.4 and was trying to transfer iPhoto library from our old laptop via an external HD.
After I copied the old library to Pictures folder, iPhoto prompted me to install and run upgraded.
I did that but when I try to open iPhoto it still prompts me "The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto." after I click upgrade it shuts down immediately. When I try to access the library as described above, it only opens what I believe is called a package.
reading "Pictures-bash-80x24"
Do I delete the Pictures folder and start over? if so, how?Â

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was having problems printing from my Canon LBP6000. Print jobs remained held in the queue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac CAPT Ve r340 driver from Canon's website, no improvement. The printer works fine with my Windows laptop. I found an option to remove all printers from the Print preferences section. I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed. I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options. And no idea how to get printer options.

I have an iMac 27" (intel 3.4 GHz, Intel core i7, and 16 GB memroy) purchased a few months ago. It is running the latest version of Lion 10.7.4 I run this computer on our network along with a iMac 24" 3.5years old and a Macbook Pro 2.5year old.Â
This computer seems to have a beef with the Hewlett-Packard printer (HP colour laser jet CM1312nfi MFP) which I have had for about 3 years. I can not get the new computer to work with the printer properly. It allows printing but it pauses all the time when you resume the print it starts printing from the begining of the document againIt will pause any prints sent to it across the network after the first 1 or 2 pages are printedIt won't allow scanning at allWhen you launch the scanner it takes forever to connect (3 - 4 mins)If you try to scan using any of the scan options (if it loads the devise) it then states it can not connect to the device, or all the scan buttons apear but greyed out. This is odd as it will still allow printing??Â
Also, all the other PC's have the same version of Lion 10.7.4 and have the latest HP Driver installed (these were released on the 14 Dec 2011). Other useful infoThe scanner is hard wired to the 27" machineYou can only use the printer if one scanner is hard wired as it does not have wirless capacity.I have uninstalled and installed the software more times than i can count trying all different trouble shooting etcI can only conclued that there is somthing the 27" machine is doing to prevent the scnanner registering properlyNone of the other computers can use the scanner correctly either. As you can only scan a page at a time using the "Scan" button. If I wish to scan multiple pages on with either of the other computers I need to use the "scan to folder" button.Â

I have to say the "upgrade" to Lion has been the most frustrating ever.
I'm considering uprgrading my MacPro from Snow Leapord to Lion, but am concerned about some of the negative reviews I've read.My machine was purchased in 2008 and currently runs OSX 10.6.8, which runs all of my software with no flaws or incompatibilites.I'm a music composer with projects always in rotation.I compose with MOTU's Digital Performer and can't afford a lot of downtime as a result of a "bad" upgrade, hence my apprehension. My machine's specs are below: Model Identifier: [code] If anyone out there has upgraded a machine like mine to Lion with either positive or negative results.

I do remember that I tried both an upgrade and a fresh install, but both were unsuccessful. Problem is that there are games and software that are coming out now that are only compatible with 10.7. It is time to get up to date, but either I get an dupgrade working or I buy a new iMac. Buying one just for the upgrade, seems a little counter customer centric.
