Is there a way of finding out weather my mac has the Mac OS X 10.7.3 Supplemental Update installed. I can't see it in the Installed Software section of Software Update.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this is a coincidence or not, but my scroll ball on my Apple Mouse (wired) will no longer scroll upwards since applying the OS 10.7.4 Supplemental Update on the 1st June 2012.
I have a Mac Mini with a 27" Thunderbolt Display running 10.7.4. There are no software updates available and I have tried all the settings available in the system preferences.
The update could not be expanded, and may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs. I seem to get this every time Apple update Mac OS X. Eventually after many many tries it will work , but come on!

Does anyone know if there is a file I can look at on the system to determine what version of the OS is install? I'm no longer able to boot once I updated to 10.7.3 and I want to restore from Time Machine back to 10.7.2 but I don't remember the exact date that I did the update. I want to be able to look at the Time Machine backup files by attaching it to another machine in order to determine when I did the update and restore from that point.

The App Store is showing that an update to Facetime is available, but the update is v 1.0.2 and the installed version is newer; 1.1.1. When I click the update button I get a dialog that "FaceTime can't be installed on "Macintosh HD" becuase the version of Mac OS S is too new." The App Store continues to show this update is available, how do I get rid of it?

Lion 10.7.4: "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access" when compressing folder On Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4: I am trying to compress a large folder to move to an external RAID. When I try to compress on the same drive location I get "The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access...". It seems certain files in the directory permissions are not set properly. I have tried changing the folder and all contain files permission through "Get Info" and it appears to complete without errors.

Update could not be expanded, and may have been corrupted during downloading. Does anybody know how this can be fixed, since the error message appears every time I try the update. Other updates run smoothly.

I was shutting down my MBP and i noticed it started performing a software update. After that I powered it back up and tried looking for what update it had performed. I looked in the System Preferences/ Software Update/ Installed updates. Nothing listed in the updates. I fired up software updates and it found a bluetooth update. I figured i would install that and it should come up. I was wrong. Is there anywhere else in OSX 10.5.7 that i can see what updates have been installed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAre you able to update one computer (iMac) and send to either another imac or laptop? E.g. Installed update 10.6.3 on my iMac, and I able to use that same update on my MBP without having to download it again? Like using the update file I downloaded and installed on my mac and sending (via say bluetooth) to laptop and installing?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThe Mac App Store tells me there's an update available for one of my applications, however, the install button is disabled and indicates that the new version of the app is already installed. The version number of the app (About...) shows v120...., the update in the App Store shows v121, so there's something available, it seems. How can i either download the update, or get rid of the update indication in the App Store?

I've been successfully running Leopard on 2 different drives on the following computer
G-4 (digital audio) 733 {model before Quicksilver}
upgraded to 1.47 GHZ....processor. 1 gig of memory
Computer has been handling Leopard fine up to now. I was updating one of the drives to 10.5.3 when the screen activity locked up. After quite a long time and ceasing of drive crunching data....I did a hard restart. Since this time, the drive wont start up,. just the spooling rotor underneath the apple on the gray screen, which doesn't stop. There is no time-machine backup on this drive. I've used the Leopard install disc to run the disc utility and repair permissions but this is a case of an update, half installed. Of course, with Leopard, booting with the install disc does not show the drive, disc image on the desktop...so access for re-running the update isn't there.
I updated a Mac G5 desktop from 10.5.2 to 10.5.8. When I finished I realized I had used the server version of the combo updater instead of the regular one. The machine seems to be running OK. Will this cause problems and how should I fix it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just installed the latest securtiy update, clicked restart and normal shut down, start up ok, apple in middle of the screen and then the sun burst icon just spins and spins nothing further than that. have tried restarting several times but it always stops in the same place. It's had a half hour to think about this now and nothing, so off to mac doctor tomorrow. [URL:...]

I installed the software update on my MacBook and it never restarted. I have tried most easy fixes but nothing seemed to help. I pulled the drive and then tried to update the software back to Snowlepord but I thnk the install failed. I've seen others with the same problem but can't seem to figure this out.

I've installed the Boot Camp drivers that came with the Snow Leopard dvd. Then after everything is installed, I look in the Apple Software Update program for the 3.1 Boot Camp-Update. I try to install this, but during installation several errors pop-up from the bluetooth, trackpad and keyboard driver.
After restarting the laptop, I can't use the functions (like brightness, volume,...) on the F1-F10 buttons anymore. The only solution to make it work again is to reinstall Windows. System Restore or trying to install the original Boot Camp drivers doesn't work. I thought this was just some corrupt download so I reinstalled Windows, but the problem still occurred. I then did it again, but still.
I have Leopard 10.5.4 installed and would like to update my graphics with the new patch. I'm getting this message when I try to install: You cannot install Leopard Graphics Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update.
My system is as follows:
1.8ghz PowerPC G5 (Single Core)
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
Mac OS X 10.5.4
When I attempt the update, I get the following error:"The Update "Java for OS X 2012-003" can't be installed. The update could not be expanded, and may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." This is on a new Mac Mini (purchased in April 2012) that has been kept updated with all other software updates. I have tried to do this update several times over the last several days with the same error. The computer has been powered off/restarted several times, no effect.I have checked for the Flashback malware, not on my system.

The full message is below. I already have updated to 12.2.7 and running the latest Mac OS but suffering continual Entourage crashes, which I'm hoping this will fix.
Office 2008 12.2.8 Update can't be installed on this Disk. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume.
I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro 13" running Lion. I installed the recommended 2.7 EFI update (which was advised by the system update utility) and after the reboot, I could not access any network resources (couldn't ping the router). The information provided showed that I was connected to the WIFI AP and had a good IP Address (provided via DHCP). I connected an ethernet cable and got a new IP address in both cases, I was unable to ping the gateway IP address.
I tried clearing the PRAM and NVRAM but no success. I booted into the restore console and the wifi access there showed my Time Machine backup (connected to my Airport Extreme). I was confused by this as when fully booted, it wouldn't show anything on the network, but in the restore mode it could.I have begun the process of restoring from the previous backup which will take a few hours.

Ever since I installed the Safari 5.1.7 update, my trackpad does not functing well. I know its not a faulty trackpad because it also malfunctions when I install a different mouse. The malfunction happens when I launch the Safari application. How do I fix this? Is there a way to undo a software update?

I installed the Mavericks 10.9.4 Update a couple of months ago, and it has reappeared in the App Store. I went ahead and reinstalled just in case there was a legitimate issue with my files, but the update continues to appear in the App Store updates section. Rebooting does nothing to change matters. How to shut off this message display?
