OS X V10.7 Lion :: Launchpad Looses Smoothness When Scrolling Between Pages

If I open the Launchpad and start to move between its pages, Launchpad loses its smoothness after 4-5 scrolling between its pages. I thought it was because the new update, but just do not notice it before. The more icons, the more noticeable slowdown. But I have a powerful IMac and no running applications. Only 28 icons on the first page and 22 on the second. If I add 5 more icons on the first page, then the slowdown will be even worse. I have reinstall Lion to 10.7.2 but problem will not go away. I tried to reset Lauchpad but it did not work.

i have a early 2008 octo mac pro, with it im using a philips 220ws, the problem i'm having is that scrolling a page be it safari, firefox or a pages doc. it seems to jutter along and doesnt move as smooth as my mac book,and when typing into either msn messenger, pages or even text edit letters seem to lag behind what im typing, ok it may only be for a secon and about 2 letters behind burt it gets annoying worse when back spacing. does anyone else have the problem or possible fix? im not using anything more than than the word processor, safari and msn at a time

i am a newbie with mac laptops. i have a macbook pro 15, core2 duo, 4 gigs of ram. i received this as a gift 2 months ago.i noticed whenever i scroll up/down a web page or in itunes i notice a static noise coming from the top left corner. (its either coming from the magsafe adapter or ethernet )the noise also lessens when i run photo booth in the backgroundi tried to read up on it and i was left asking more questions than i started with.is this a common issue? can it get worse in the long run? because i am sure this lappy is no longer under apple care.

When I open Launchpad I can't see the app icons, only the names. I am able to click the names and the apps will run. I can see the icons in finder, however. Also, keep in mind that my computer has virtually no storage left. Here's a screenshot:

I have a variety of apps in Launchpad and I have them arranged just how I like them but then I shut down my MacBook Pro at the end of the day and the next day my apps are in completely different locations. It is really quite annoying to have to rearrange them manually after I boot up my Mac.

Trying to install Google Earth, I wound up with 2 Google Earth icons in my Launchpad. Why is it so difficult to delete an icon from the Launchpad? I deleted Google Earth from my Applications but there still remains a Google Earth icon on my Launchpad. Why is everything on this Mac so difficult?

I upgraded to CS6 yesterday and could install the programmes properly. Once I launchpad to start using the new Phptoshop though, I couldn't find it anywhere. I moved the app outside the CS6 subfolder and placed it into the actual apps folder. It didn't appear anyway and this way I wasn't able to launch the app neither.

I use Mac OS X Mail and generally have very few issues. However, I ocassionally receive emails which I know are formatted as HTML, but they nevertheless show up as text... and sort of jumbled text at that (i.e., with URL links expanded inline and other issues that cause the email to be difficult to read). It doesn't happen extremely often, but it does happen often enough to be annoying. I have Mail sync'ed to several accounts: one POP3, and two IMAP as I recall. It has happened with emails retrieved from each service at one time or another.Â
As I understand it, an HTML email usually also contains a text version within the content... and each mail client has to recognize a given email as either HTML or text (or RTF). Indeed, I can view the raw source for the email in Mail, and I see in the payload of the email statements such as "This is a multi-part message in MIME format" followed by sections denoted as Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 and later as Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64. It just seems that Mail occassionally ignores the text/html section.Â
Is there a way to force Mail to switch display of a given message to HTML or to text? I see options to select "Text Encoding" under the Message menu bar option, various stylistic choices under the Format header, and even the View Raw Source option under View | Message menu bar option. This last option (View | Message) also has some options regarding display "alternatives" (plaintext, best, next, etc) but all are greyed-out. Perhaps this is the issue and Mail is simply not understanding the HTML due to a slight mistake in the format of the content and it thinks it is only displayable as plain text?

I downloaded a couple of apps that I decided I didn't need, so I moved them to the trash. When these apps were downloaded and installed, their icons were added to Launchpad, but when I deleted the apps, the icons remained in Launchpad. These were not downloaded from the Mac App Store. Is there an easy way to get rid of the icons? It would seem that when an app is deleted, the respective icon should be removed at the same time.

I have two rows of installed apps packed in folders at the moment (and still so much space left on the first page), but Launchpad is putting every App I purchase over the MAS on a new (second) page. Is that a known issue? How can I fix this?

Every time I restart my machine the first page of the icons on Launchpad moves around. There is no obvious pattern to this, just a general shuffling of the icons. Anyone identified a cause/solution for this?Â

It is called "how to remove app from launchpad" but actually talks about deleting the app by means of launchpad. So how these actions are actually done? I mean, there's a lot of apps I do not need in the launchpad - like small utilities I rarely use. Yes, i know I can arrange them into folders and move these to some pages of the launchpad, but still. If they write "remove from launch pad" there must be a way to do exactly that.

I recently installed an application to my macbook pro. However when I installed it the uninstaller also shows in the launchpad. It is so unattractive and I was wondering how to get rid of it? Everytime I open lanchpad I see it. Dragging to the trash does not work, it only works if I want to uninstall it.

I'm running OS 10.7.3 When I first installed, I could rename folders (I know how to do this). Now, I can no longer change the folder names.Â
I searched these discussion topics and found some posts about quitting the Dock process and trashing Dock prefs. I've done all these but there's still no success.Â

For some reason a whole bunch of new icons showed up in my Launchpad all of a sudden. I haven't installed anything new that I know of, but I'm wondering if this happened after an Apple update. Here is a screencap: [URL]. What these little script icons are for? They do not exist on my other Macs.

I want to change the effect of the background of launchpad. I know it is somehow possible... But I don't know how again. I found some websites and they told me to press Command + B, but that does not work for me!Â

Just got my Mac. Know a lot about Windows, Mac OS is new. Installed Adobe CS6 Design/Web Premium and noticed that all applications are shown in the launch pad INCLUDING the uninstall applications. I want to remove those from the launch pad.

I meet a problem in using Mission Control and Launchpad. My system is Mac OS X 10.7.3, and my laptop is MacBook Pro mid in 2010 15". When I open it, use Misson Control it will display like this: Could not add space and no dashboard on the top of the screen. I really don't know the reason why. But if I sign off my account, the mission control will be normal again. And when Mission Control has this problem. The launchpad isn't also normal. Launchpad's background will be transparent. But this problem will come again after some times of restart. It randomly appears.Â
