OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mobileme Server Rejecting Email Password?
Apr 1, 2012When I tried to check my email on my mac this morning I got a message saying the account was offline. It asked for my mobileme password which I put in but it was rejected with the message:
"The MobileMe IMAP server “mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “xxxx.xxxx”
Enter your password again or cancel."
I also get this pop-up message when I re-enter my password:
"There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “MobileMe” or try again.
The server returned the error: Moved: [URL]
I know the password to be correct as I've signed into both my mobileme and icloud accounts online. I switched to an icloud account several weeks ago.

Sep 18, 2010I create my own music and sometimes people ask if they can have it on a CD. Since I really do not want people to be able to rip it to their computer's I have denied these requests. However as the demand apparently grows and more people start asking I feel that I would really want to be able to share my music with them, securely. What I would like to do is burn a cd containing my music that people cant rip. I know there will always be some way of doing it, but fore the average computer user preventing mediaplayer/itunes from being able to rip the music will be enough to keep them from doing it.

Jul 26, 2009Some free fonts that i have downloaded refuse to be saved as PDF's due to copy protection issues. When downloading new fonts I now look for info on this, but I have downloaded many before and some are annoyingly PDF resistant ! Can I disable all fonts that are copy protected in one go so they won't appear in the Font Toolbar? or alternatively, can I disable the copy protection segment of font? Fonts are for personal use but would like to print them off.

Aug 29, 2009Ever since I updated one of my work machines to Snow Leopard yesterday, I am unable to copy photos to the clipboard in Preview or similar apps. The option is grayed out. I usually do this to change icons, but I've had to use third-party apps to do this since the upgrade. I'm sure it has to do with permissions, but I'm not very well versed in that aspect of OS X yet.

May 9, 2012I upgraded my MBP internal hard drive to a Samsung 1TB and it crashed for the 2nd time (will never buy another Samsung). So this time, I purchased a WD and migrated my system to the new drive sucessfully. I just wanted to see if anyone knew if the migrate function simply copies files or if it copys sectors of the hard drive. Basically I just want to know if Mac Migrate will copy the crap from the Samsung drive that might cause my new WD to act up - or if that's possible?

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Can't Copy Folders On External Drives?
May 20, 2012I just can't figure this out. I have several external drives I use to edit video. Most are 1TB drives, and I recently got a couple 3TB drives I was hoping to use to consolodate my scratch drives and reorganize my footage, etc. Ideally, I'd like to just be able to drag the entire contents of the smaller drive over to the bigger one, but I can't, because I keep getting error messages. Sometimes it's "Cannot complete, [file name] is in use" or I get an "error -50" code.
Before I began the copy, I formatted the destination drive in Mac OS Extended (journaled), and zeroed out the data to protect against bad sectors. I've scanned the drives since to determine if there are any verification issues (no), and I've tried turning off icon preview and the preview pane, none of it solves the problem. What the eff is going on here??
(I'm using all firewire800 drives. Currently several LaCie and Western Digital drives, but only trying to copy one at a time)

Jan 22, 2010There is a new bug that has cropped up in the Mac OS X 10.6.2 Snow Leopard version of Apple Mail, version 4.2. This bug was not present in Leopard's version of Apple Mail. If you drag a single email from Apple Mail out to your desktop, it makes a copy of the email message on your desktop. BUT -- if you drag multiple emails from Apple Mail out to your desktop, Mail does absolutely nothing. This used to be a very quick way to archive and/or export email messages out of Apple Mail, and it worked perfectly fine in Mac OS X 10.5. But you can no longer do this in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

The conversion process caused all the new files to have today's date but did not change the file names. I am looking for a way to pull the create/modify dates from the original files and apply them to the converted files so the new files will have their original dates. All of the original files had different dates, so I can't just apply a certain date to the converted files.

Mar 13, 2012Mail has worked flawlessly for me for several years. But this week, it stopped loading (retrieving) my messages from my .mac/me/iCloud service. For some reason, my .mac account in Mail is offline. When I try to take it back online, mail tells me that my password isn't being accepted. (But it works just fine if I go to my iCloud account and use it to log on and check my mail there. And it's no prob retrieving my mail on my iPhone, either.)
(I have several other e-mail accounts set up in Mail, and they work just fine. Only my .mac/me/iCloud account stopped working.)I've tried to change various settings in the preferences for the account, but it's been to no avail.Some of the various error messages I've received after trying to fix the prob:And here are info panels I see when I check the account in Mail's preferences:Note how port 993 is greyed out here; it's not greyed out for my other email accounts (and it's the same port w/ those, too).
