I'm running 10.6.3 and I've been using connect360 to get media to my box for some time. Since the latest software update, I am now getting the (seemingly not uncommon) 'ports 1900 and/or 9335 in use' error.Scouring the internet, the more common fixes don't seem to help... I don't have any TwonkyMedia process, and turning off the OS X firewall doesn't help.
View 1 RepliesHas anyone else experienced problems with the USB ports on a wired keyboard since you installed the latest Apple system update? After I ran the update, the keyboard USB ports are getting just 100 mA total; they can't even power a simple flash drive anymore.
I searched the Apple forums and noticed several users complaining about the same thing. The update seems to have made the keyboard USB ports absolutely useless.
I'd love to see CNET look into this; and if the underpowered ports are a common issue, I hope enough people complain for Apple to acknowledge the error and fix this in a subsequent update.
I have version 10.6.8 I just updated the latest firmware release. My macbook pro now freezes after a few minutes of operation.

Updated to latest security download and now MacBookPro cannot connect to wireless router.iPad works on the router and MacbookPro works on other wifi networks, but it will nolonger work with the actual wireless router that I used to download the latest security software? I can't print to my network computer after 10.6.3. I can however print using Parallels, but I can't print from say preview or any other OSX based software.
The printer is an HP 4200 Laser jet that I access through an ethernet on my work network. I'm the only Mac in the office and am getting ridiculed for not being able to print from OSX.I tried downloading the HP drivers and re installing them but no luck...
So I've been thinking about how i am going to be using my new MBA as my main machine for a couple of months and i currently use an external monitor with it.
The MBA is advertised to run an external, such as an ACD.
I jut looked at the ports and i find it really strange that the MagSafe connector is on the left, but the mini display port is on the right... Now you will have cables on both sides? How does this work with the set of MagSafe + display port + USB in an ACD? I don't think they are long enough to go around? Or would you have to plus in the other MagSafe and just use the right side for display port and USB. That is silly though.
I intend to purchase a wired keyboard on my BTO iMac and I understand that there are two USB ports, one on either side of the keyboard. Are these ports USB 2.0 as they are on the rear of the iMac?
View 11 Replies View Related I got my first iMac last week so I'm a newbie to OSx, however I've come across something.I've not been able to find an answer to via a search engine.I have a port open for the program 'Transmission' in my router's settings. I've tried several, and I've followed several different guides on how to do this, and yet it always tells me that the port is closed. Now, I know Mac has like infinitely better security than Windows does, but does it also mean that all the ports are going to be closed all the time? I have no idea, so I thought I'd ask here. It's a Netgear router, and I've followed a specific guide on it via. I've allowed the program to go through the Firewall too.

Can I use Mac OS 10.5.x successfully? Does this computer have what is needed? Out of ignorance and bravery, I have already loaded 10.5.x on my hard drive, and am having problems. So, I'm considering reinstalling my back up. Should I?

2) my scanner software also crashes.

I have set up a static ip in Network and then I followed [URL]'s guide to setting up a port forward for my router.
Transmission keeps telling me the port is closed, and when I check on random port sites, they also tell me it is closed!
Using imac OSX. Had handbrake installed worked o.k till I downloaded latest version. Now it wont open. deleted from applications and secured empty trash. Downloaded it again still wont open. Icon appears in applications and nothing happens when you click on it.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've got a lion 10.7.3 server and several Lion client boxes all attached via ethernet to an airport extreme.
I've got a bona fide certificate that seems to have installed correctly, and the client is talking to the open directory server
Without fail, I get a message "unable to log in the user at this time" on each of the clients...
UNLESS I open up all ports on my airport extreme to the server.
I've tried opening individual ports for AFP, profile manager (1640, 2195), open ldap (389, 636) and even kerberos (88). Even with all of these open, it still doesn't work. I have to open up everything to get the error to go away - then the users can log in just fine.
Note, I'm logging in from the local network to a server on the local network, so this just seems bizarre.
I don't have the logs on this computer, but I recall that the error was occurring when it tried to mount the home directory, after authentication. It was an error 64 from homedirmounter (if memory serves).
If so, do you use them and what sound system do you have?

I was unable to download the latest Aperture update because I do not have OS 10.7. I want to delete the red App Store reminder. I have problems since applying the latest security Update 2009-001 and Java 10.5 Update 3, I have 10.5.6 on the new unibody 2.4ghz and have completely lost the ability to connect to my wireless access point which is an apple airport extreme base station.
I can sometimes se the base station but cannot connect to it and sometimes cannot see it at all. I have three other apple computers at home all less then a year old running the same build of 10.5.6 but have not updated them and they all are fine.
This one was perfect untill I applied the update.
The machine I am having problems with is partitioned with windows 7 beta on it which has no problems connecting to the base station, which indicates that its not a hardware problem but more then likely the update which is causing the problem.
Is there a way to uninstall the last update or delete it? Any one with a similar problem or know how I can fix it, I have googled but cannot seem to find anyone with similar problems.
The Mac Pro only has 2 400 and 2 800 ports. and I was wondering if there was a way to get more, or split them. I have a lot of externals and an isight, etc. Or maybe a solution is daisy-chaining harddrives, does anyone know anything about this, or how to do it.. I'm afraid to experiment with my data.

I've also heard that I can format it by putting it in the phone and accessing it as an external storage device, but I have no idea how to do that either.

I've opened the required ports except for 88 in my router because it uses that for services (friggin belkin). I'm still getting a strict NAT on my xbox and I should have a Moderate NAT if I have every port but 88 open. I know that Tiger had a setting for port forwarding in system preferences, but for the life of me I cant find it in snow leopard. Does anyone know how I could forward the necessary ports?
