I forgot my username to login to my macbook.
Yesterday i changed my full username by adding my telephone #. today when i started my macbook i had to type the username and pasw.
I might have mistyped my telephone number yesterday so i want to find out what the users are right now.

My laptop won't accept my username (or the old username) since I changed it (I wanted to shorten it). I originally thought it was the password so went through the process of reinstalling the system with the original disk (with apple support help over the phone), but that wasn't the problem. How do I get the computer to recognize my username?

Mail on my Pro suddenly says incorrect username and/or password. Resubmitting password does not help. Mail is fine on my iPad and Phone. I can also log into the mail's website with no issue. Until now mail has never been an issue on my Mac. I tried deleting and re-adding the account. Get the same message when it tries to verify the login during setup.

I put in the incorrect username/password when asked to by iPhoto when i upgraded to Iphoto11, i want to send a photo from Iphoto, now it will not send as it states i have the wrong combination. Where oh where do i reset or input the correct details? Error message states username/password are incorrect...... but option to reset or change them or try again.

My MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8) was going slow. I decided to reinstall OSX. All my data was backed up to my compatible external HD. I then erased my MacBook HD, and reinstalled OSX off the install disc and bundled applications disc. I went through the steps to set up the administrator account, and did all the other things in the instal process. I then did all necessary software updates. When all that was complete, I connected my external HS and opened migration assistant, and imported all the data from the latest backup.  I now find that all my backed up data from before is under a different user account - named as in the old OSX set up. How do I populate my newly installed iTunes and iPhoto with the imported data stored under the 'old' username? Shouldn't this have happened automatically?

Suddenly my 'Mail' program does not 'Get Mail' when I clik the button or choose the command in the menu. Nothing happens, no sign of downloading anything.Â
But the red dot on the Dock icon shows I have 8000+ unread messages.Â
I haven't added any new software or upgraded the OS for a number of days. Worked OK this morning. I've tried restarting both the program and the computer.Â

Is there a way I can retrieve my mac mail password? I keep getting asked for it but I've forgotten what it is as I haven't had to use it for years. I've tried keychain but I have no mail password in it. I tried using the same password as my isp's webmail, which I never use, but it didn't work.Â

Mail has worked flawlessly for me for several years. But this week, it stopped loading (retrieving) my messages from my .mac/me/iCloud service. For some reason, my .mac account in Mail is offline. When I try to take it back online, mail tells me that my password isn't being accepted. (But it works just fine if I go to my iCloud account and use it to log on and check my mail there. And it's no prob retrieving my mail on my iPhone, either.)
(I have several other e-mail accounts set up in Mail, and they work just fine. Only my .mac/me/iCloud account stopped working.) I've tried to change various settings in the preferences for the account, but it's been to no avail. I am trying to retrieve an iPhoto file from a week ago.Â
One week ago I attempted to upgrade to Lion, then realized that was not what I wanted to do and rebooted from my clone to restore to Snow Leopard.Â
When I opened iPhoto however, I realized that the iPhoto library was way further back than I had remembered.Â
I used my Time Machine backup to get my old iPhoto library back (not to try to merge, just to retreive the file) and I get the error message: "This operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access "iPhoto Library."Â
I already repaired permissions on the volume. What gives?

Now, I didnt know that my computer would have this as its directory. Because I use my e-mail account as my username on iTunes.When I click on the finder, it shows my e-mail address under "Places" but without the [URL]and etc.So how do I go about changing that to something else? when surfing to websites where a username and password is required, the first time you fill in these data keychain access will ask to remember the password.
If U click 'never for this website' keychain access won't ask this again.How can I change this setting? I'm trying to autolog into facebook but it won't work.I keychain access I added it manually but it still doesn't work.

I've recently purchased a 2nd hand Apple Powerbook G4 A1104 and the previous user details and password are still on the system and to reset it has asked to install the Mac OS disc.The powerbook suffered minor damage to the aluminium casing causing it non-economic to repair, therefore i had successfully tendered for the item.

I bought a computer that was on display and thus already configured to the store's settings (i.e. username, Mail, etc.). I've managed to change every setting to my liking except the username that appears on Terminal and the one on Sharing & Permissions; I keep getting the store's username on those fields. I changed the home folder's name using a tutorial on YouTube but that change does not affect Terminal or Sharing & Permissions! I don't want to re-install Lion...
