OS X :: Haven't Found Out What Precise System The EFI 1.3 Is Intended
Nov 2, 2009Am trying to understand why, lately, I have to use install DVD 1 for minor boot disk repairs on my Intel iMac (late 2006-17" - OSX 10.4.11) almost every week. And why, when I right~click on a file to open it, all applications are proposed twice. Makes the list sort of long!Not knowing what to look for I first thought I might have missed a firmware update. My computer says I'm up to date with EFI 1.2. I make all updates proposed by system as soon as they appear, and regularly use Onyx for privileges repairs, particularly before and after DLs, use Automation weekly, etc. (But I still haven't found out what precise iMac the EFI 1.3 is intended for).

Jun 5, 2010alrightyyy so basically my unibody 2008 macbook crashed a short while back, needed to re-install OSX, files were saved, applications were not. I had been using iLife '09 off a copy that my mother got with with her 2009 polycarbonate macbook. After the crash I upgraded to 10.6 and attempted to install iLife '09 again. It told me thus: 'Alert: this software cannot be installed on this computer'. And that's it. I can't access any of my pictures in iPhoto or upload any(3 wedding albums :3), and I can't access any of my old Garage Band files, simply because they were created on '09 and since the reboot I'm stuck with '08. Major bummer. Bottom Line: is there any way to get iLife '09 on my computer without wasting $100 just to access files?

Aug 31, 2010I,ve got a 2007 MacBook Pro running the Latest Version of Snow Leopard, with no problems. It originally came with OS X 10.4 (Tiger I Think it was called). I still have the original OS X 10.4 Installation disks.
I would like to install and play some early Mac games which no longer play with OS X 10.6, Snow Leopard. For example, the original Myst, which, I understand will play on OS X 10.4.
My question: Can I install OS X 10.4 on my MacBook Pro without overwriting or interfering with OS X 10.6, so that I can play some of these older Mac games. In other words, can I have both operating systems installed at the same time and choose which one to boot up and use.
Applications :: ILife Won't Install?
Oct 30, 2010I just got my update disc, but when I put it in, it just sits there cranking for a minute or so and then ejects the DVD. I made sure my software was updated first, and did a shut-down ... but it still just ejects it.
I zapped the PRAM ... and then it did hold on to the disc a lot longer, but it just cranks and cranks and then ejects. I did put in a music CD just to make sure it wasn't the CD driver, but the CD opened and played just fine. Any ideas on why iLife '11 won't install?

Nov 24, 2009When I open iPhoto on my new iMac it tells me that there is an update available and that I should goto Software Update to get it. I go there and it says that my software is up to date. I go back to iPhoto and it still tells me there is an update for 8.1.1 but it also gave me a manual install link. I manually downloaded it and it won't install because it needs iPhoto 8.1 from iLife 09'. I even tried rebooting and repairing hard drive permissions. I am using iPhoto from iLife 09 that came on my brand new Mac.
