Can someone tell me why when i try to download some from itunes it takes to long to download. For example when i download a movie with a length of 1 hour and 25 minutes why does it it take 5 hours to download.
View 10 RepliesSorry for the title but I couldn't think of anything better. Hopefully I'll be able to explain my problem. I have a MPR 2.53 ghz, 4 gig ram, I'm using Safari 4.04. I am using the WIFI at a guesthouse in Thailand (but I had the same issue in China, Vietnam ...). I ran a speed test and it said download 7mb/sec and upload about 1mb/sec. I have an "app" that says bandwidth in 1.3kb/sec out 1.0kbs. I thought maybe it was Safari so I downloaded and installed Firefox. firefox gives me similar speeds. When I downloaded Firefox though I had a download speed of over 1mb/sec. But as soon as it finished downloading the speed went back to around 1kb/sec. I have rebooted my MBP many times. I did some Google searches but didn't find anything helpful.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently started doing a bunch of music importing on my rev. a 1.8 ssd. I must say I am quite impressed with the ~24x apple lossless import speeds I am seeing. this ssd kicks butt. Its quite a bit faster than my old 2.4 imac or white macbook.

I even went on youtube and played the songs simultaneoulsy and it isnt just one song it seems to be that my entire itune library plays back faster than it normally would.

I can't click in the next/previous buttons fast. I mean, if I click once (e.g. to skip a song) I can't click again until about 1 sec later. If I try to click again before 1 sec after the first click, it doesn't do anything at all, as if there's not even a button there. And no matter for how long I keep making several fast clicks, it just won't skip the song. I have to stop clicking, wait 1 sec, and THEN click. This happens either using the trackpad or a mouse. Quite annoying.
There's no problem though if I skip songs fast using the Next/Previous key in the keyboard.Â
I'm using a Macbook Air 2013, iTunes 11.2.2 (3).
I used to watch streaming video podcasts in iTunes and they would popup in a separate quicktime-type window. Since a recent update streaming podcasts appear in a non-adjustable window over iTunes and I am no longer able to select which portion of the podcast I would like to view. This is irritating.
I've looked through the settings and can't find anything that fixes this.
This is 10.6.2 on a Macbook Pro (Spring 2009?), with iTunes 9.
My iTunes 9.02 has become slow and wonky. Tons of Beach Ball. Running OSX 10.6.2 on a 3Ghz Quad Mac Pro and have about 8000 items in the library.

I just did a clean install on my Mac mini to clean out old unwanted files. When I got to the point of redownloading all my iTunes purchases I checked to see if everything was downloaded and it keeps showing that 1 movie and 1 tv show need downloading yet they already are downloaded both SD and HD. Why do these videos not go away under the Not on my Computer tab once downloaded?

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently, iTunes has started to become completely unresponsive while it downloads things such as music, podcasts, etc. It doesn't freeze. the downloads still download, and then iTunes becomes responsive again once the downloads have finished. Not the end of the world, but I do subscribe to a lot of podcasts, so having iTunes constantly become unresponsive on me is a huge pain in the neck. Possibly relevant?: My iTunes library is on an external RAID array. But I don't think it's a problem with the array, since everything else I use it for seems to be working just fine. And I don't see why downloading data to the array should cause iTunes to lock up, in any case.

I noticed there was an issue with the last update (11.2.1) where podcasts were unexpectedly downloading. The new update (11.2.2) states that it "fixes a problem where certain podcast episodes may download unexpectedly after upgrading". However since installing the new update it has not seemed to have solved the problem. As soon as Itunes opened up again once the update was complete about 7 podcasts were downloading???

The space is very limited on the work computers otherwise I would have kept it on there. Since install of Lion a few weeks ago I have persistent problems scanning. I have an HP Photosmart C3110 and use Preview to Scan. I will get an error message "an error occured while communicating with the scanner". If I disconnect scanner then turn it on it will work but I have to do this after each shut down or sleep on my macbook pro. I have tried trashing prefs and repairing permissions. I am on mcp OS 10.7.3?

After years of downloading single songs from iTunes, today I downloading an entire album. I thought that a Playlist would be created for this album, but itwasn't. So I manually created a playlist with the album name and then added all the songs. Is this the correct way? Or did I do something wrong? Is there a way to download an entire album into a playlist of the same name?

digital copies have an expiration date (most of them anyway) & I really don't have much space on my computer to fit all the movies (I think I'm literally down to 3GB). So am I able to download the digital copy to my Mac, delete it from iTunes & the computer to free up the space & then re-download at a later date as long as I'm using the same iTunes login? Also, would this work if I got a new Mac & tried to re-download to that?
