View 1 Replies View RelatedSince install of Lion a few weeks ago I have persistent problems scanning. I have an HP Photosmart C3110 and use Preview to Scan. I will get an error message "an error occured while communicating with the scanner". If I disconnect scanner then turn it on it will work but I have to do this after each shut down or sleep on my macbook pro. I have tried trashing prefs and repairing permissions. I keep my large music collection on an external drive connected to an Airport Extreme in my home. I've embedded all my album artwork in the music files, and previously all the album artwork was displaying perfectly in iTunes. After upgrading to iTunes 10.5, however, most of my albums are missing the album art in the album list and Cover Flow. I know that the art is still in the file because it shows up in the "Now Playing" box in the lower left corner of the screen. The only way I have found to get the album art to show up again in the album list and Cover Flow is to go through the following steps: Â Control-click the first track of an album for which the cover art is not displaying correctly. From the context menu that appears, select Get Info.Click on the Artwork tab, then click Cancel.Â
Now the artwork shows up in iTunes in all views. I called Apple Support and asked if there's a faster way to fix the issue with the database. Manually fixing each album for hundreds of albums is no fun. Telling iTunes to Get Album Artwork doesn't work because most of my music was not purchased from iTunes but was ripped from CDs I already own. It's very frustrating because I already spent hours finding and embedding the hi-res album art in my files. I paid extra for Apple products because I expect them to at least avoid corrupting my databases.
When importing multi disc CD albums they will show up as three separate albums, 1,2 & 3 for example. How do I set it up so they show as one, 3 disc album and play through? Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, when I download the album artwork from iTunes for "Music from and Inspired by Spider-Man," it instead shows artwork for "Ethnicali: Music Inspired by the Golden State." I don't even have that album. There was another album of mine that iTunes applied the wrong artwork to as well, but I can't remember it off-hand. In any case, does anybody have any suggestions as to what I could do to fix this issue. I already submitted feedback to Apple about the problem as well.Â

I just finished an original rock album, registered it with Gracenote, and it is being sold through itunes and many other places via cdbaby. The album is also available to download via Dropcards to people that buy or receive a download crad from us in person. PROBLEM is, when you download the cd, the tracks are in the proper order as on the album when they are in a folder from Dropcards, then you drag them into itunes and they are in ALPHABETICAL order in the RECENTLY ADDED folder! Under the MUSIC tab, they however are in proper album order. ?? It's good that the cd is properly registered and is in the right order in peoples main MUSIC list, but when I download albums, the easiest way to find the new album is under RECENTLY ADDED, which in my case would have people clicking on the wrong song to start listening to our record (not the intended feel we wanted to start the record with)Â

I'm new here and about to dip my toe into the Apple pond for the first time. Just placed an order for an i Phone and am preparing my music collection to move at least some of it over to i Tunes for use with the new phone. I currently have it on an external HD in one main folder (CD Collection) and have been using WMP up to now. Stored under that main folder are sub-folders with album titles containing the individual song files in .wav format. I tried to import the files into the i Tunes library by going to FILE and clicking on ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY. I then selected all the album folders and hit enter. It imported them all into one folder. I have around 450 albums. This is not what I had in mind. I had hoped the folder and file organization would have been maintained. Instead I have thousands of music files in one "album."

For those who have done it, about how long has it taken from the time you submitted an order for a book made in iPhoto to the time it was delivered?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been waiting for these Arrandale 15" MBPs since December '09, and in my excitement and haste I didn't assess all the options when I ordered my new laptop.I ordered the base 15" model with no changes to it, but I really need the high-res screen. 3 questions for you lovely people:1) Once I get the laptop, I could return it and change it for a one with the hi-res screen. How long does it usually take to return a Macbook Pro and get a new one back again?
2) If, once I recieve the laptop, I drove to my nearest Apple Store (about 60 miles away- I'm in UK), could I simply hand them my unopened laptop and ask for an exchange for one with a hi-res screen?
3) I noticed a hi-res, anti-glare option. Does anybody know if the anti-glare option still has that ugly grey surroun
I downloaded the Watchmen Soundtrack (not from iTunes) and it imported into iTunes under all the same album art, same album name, but in coverflow each song shows up independently, and it shows an album for each song. (Like, there's ~10 songs, each one shows up on its own in coverflow with its own album cover, even though they're all the same album image.)
I was wondering if there were any applications that would fetch album art for albums not currently in the iTunes Store (the album art is usually posted on [URL])? I had been using a tool called Fetch Art for several years, but it appears that the software no longer does anything, nor has it been in development since 2010, so I'm wondering what would be a better alternitive...?

How do you add artwork to a whole album? When I select an album in grid view and choose Get Info, the Get Info window does not show the artwork tab, like what shows when I select a single song. There is a tiny little Artwork window in the Info tab, but I want to add multiple artwork to this (dragged in from the Finder), front, back and inside album art. If I select a single song in that album and choose Get Info, then I see the artwork tab, but the artwork I drag in applies only to that song (the album art appears in the Now Playing pane only when that song is playing). How do you add artwork to a whole album?

if we're capable of updating it, or where the information comes from. I'd also like to know about iTunes capitalization and punctuation standards, if there's a link to that, a la Wikipedia, and genre listing. Who controls that information?Â

I have 5 separate albums by one artist. All of a sudden all five show up under one album. I am checking info and the correct songs list as the correct albums so why this all show up as one album. They exist in separate folders on my drive. I have itunes 11.3.1 on a macbook running 10.9.4. I have spent the weekend trying to cleanup the 60GB of music I have, removing duplicates and correctly assigning the tracks to the correct albums (personal compilations I just give up on). This is the first time I have seen several separate albums combine like this. I can't see what setting would cause them to combine. I checked tracks against the itunes lists and the correct tracks are set for the correct album. Â
Oh I did get itunes match but I have turned it off since I think I already regret that decision. I first ran it before i realized I needed to clean up my databaseÂ

I have my iTunes songs categorised as "Albums" and then "Title" but with compilation albums I end up with lots of icons each with a single song in each.Â
How can I amalgamate them all together so there is less on display and so I just need to click on one album cover and all the songs from that album are there and not spread out ?Â

I have all the latest Mac and iTunes software and can't figure out how to delete incorrect album art work in iTunes. I've downloaded the correct art work but it adds it to the file and doesn't delete the incorrect one. The incorrect one still shows in iTunes and on my ATV's. I'm new to the Mac as well.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently been looking into how I can get high-resolution artwork for some of my albums, and I was wondering if I can use iTunes to get some. I don't buy music from iTunes so I wouldn't know, I thought I'd ask here before buying and being disappointed.
I know that there have been applications online to grab album art from iTunes that don't work anymore, so I was wondering - if I buy 1 track from an album that I want the album art for, can I then get the high-res artwork from the track? By ripping it using tagging software or otherwise?
I've been trying to figure out how to add album cover to .flac and .aiff files for a while. When I try to add it to .flac, it just shows "Album cover not modifiable" and when I try to add it to .aiff files, it does it, but then when I quit iTunes and restart it, it's gone again.
Is this a bug or it just not possible to add album cover to them?
Btw: Audiophile, would prefer .flac or .aiff over .mp3
