obviously this makes me look like an idiot, but I downloaded the demo for worms 3D and when I opened it there were just lines of code. I have leapord operating system if that helps at all, I just think im missing an installer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I opened safari my homepage was apple and it opened using the middle of the display with the desktop screensaver visable on both sides of the page now it opens adn takes up the whole screen I don't know how to resize it and save it where it will open to the same all the time. I'm a very new owner of an IMAC and to apple so I'm completely in the dark to mac systems and just stumbling around. I'm a 70 year old guy that's ben drug into the 21 century and trying to keep up (not very good )

Did anyone else notice the app Jobs used when he demoed Core Animation? I'm going to assume it was a custom app for internal use only but I was suitably impressed with it. If Apple doesn't release it in some form can someone else write it or something pretty similar? That thing was awesome.

Having done so, however, a popup message appears when I fire up my eMac: "Network SpyAlert Protection Expired! The installed demonstration version of Internet Cleanup has expired. To purchase the demo, run the Internet Cleanup application for details".
It's a minor nuisance, but annoying nonetheless. I've searched for possible suspected plists and logs, but can't seem to find whatever needs to be deleted to rid my Mac of this popup. Anyone have any ideas on how to remove this fragment of the program?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout a month ago, a friend who had just purchased his first Mac emailed me and asked why his Dock DownLoad file disappeared. I had no idea why. He still hasn't been able to reestablish it.
Yesterday, I downloaded something and my Dock DownLoad file vanished. I have tried rebooting, using (useless) Help, Spotlight, Search, and several other things. NO JOY. NO DownLoad file.
1. Does anyone know where to find DownLoad or how to bring it back?
I have experienced several idiosyncrasies with Snow Leopard, but when I call Apple support, they are very nice, but haven't a clue as to why it's happening.
2. Another problem is that the Highlight gets anchored on something in Mail, Word, and some other Apps. When I click somewhere else, the whole area between the "anchor" and what I click on is lit up. Apple doesn't know what causes it. I have to go through multiple machinations to shake it loose. I don't know what it is that causes it or specifically how to "shake it loose". Neither does Apple.
3. When typing in Word or an editor, there are times when the type changes to UpperCase and won;t let go.
Another problem is that, at times, when I click on a file, it fills the screen. Apple is aware of this problem and is trying to find an answer. Nothing, to date.
Apple support can't tell me why the MacMail Inbox spinner disappeared or how to get it back.
There are times when I can't access the hidden Dock. After rebooting and trying other things, the Dock finally shows up but any additions that I have put on the Dock are no longer there.
When I put a DVD in the slot, for the first few seconds, it grinds but does smooth out.
I thought that SL was supposed to get rid of the "foibles". "What happened on the way to the Forum"?
Is anyone finding other SL idiosyncrasies? What are they?
If anyone can help with items 1., 2, and/or 3. I'd be grateful.
BTW, Apple says that items 2 and 3 MAY be caused by the wireless Magic Mouse and/or the wireless keyboard; however, when I use alternates, it still happens.

In a behind the scenes video covering the making of the motion cover that was sent to planet5D, Alexx Henry and partner Andrew Gant describe how they were able to "put motion into print" in ways never seen before.
The living art interactive motion spread was shot with Red Digital's latest RED ONE camera and new Mysterium-X sensor, allowing them to capture the energy of a still-life action shoot with the motion of a blockbuster film. In addition to action spreads, this enables them to "present a story" to readers before the final frame of their motion covers.
The production team shot all of their living models on a green screen at a high frame rate and slowed them down, so when the action stops, the textual article can appear. I previously installed a demo of iWork and life but after the trial period uninstalled it. Well I've now bought the licensed copies of each. Upon install and trying to launch iWork or iLife I'm getting prompted for my serial number, and of course the discs do not require a number.Do i have to call Apple or is this a common, easy fix?

If I do a re-install of Logic Express 9 will this wipe out or affect my other projects in any way? I really don't want to lose any of the work I've done so far, but would really like to have back the original demo project as a learning tool.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was about to lose my mind.A couple of days ago I found that I couldn't empty my trash.I kept getting the error message in the title of this post.I have a program called "Smart Trash"...nope.I tried "Super Empty Trash"...nope.I ran some terminal commands followed by a Repair Disk Permissions.Option-Empty...nope.I booted VMWare Fusion / XP, and did a CHKDSK.I tried creating an empty folder and dragging the files (17 of them) into the empty folder, then deleting the empty folder, but my computer wouldn't let me pull the files out of the trash and move them to the new folder.I put the files into A Better Finder Rename and tried to rename them.Then, I did something that you'd never think would solve the problem, but for some reason it did.
I opened up the trash, did a Cmd-A to select all, then a Cmd-I to find out how (collectively) big all of these files were and when my Mac tried to access the files to see their size, they disappeared.
I have no idea why that was the thing that worked, but my Trash is empty and the paper in my trash icon is gone.Just thought I'd share this because I know there are others out there that have tried everything as well. I'm not promising this will work for you, but what have you got to lose, right?

View 20 Replies View RelatedWhenever I'm searching for a file and I use 'last opened date' as one of the options, it presents files that I know I didn't open within that timeframe (and I'm the only user here) as well as not including files I know I opened.
Any ideas? I don't know if something indexing my files is causing this, I do use Launchbar, but I can't imagine that's it?
I sold my friends my eMac, and he is having a problem with Warcraft 3. Now, I own it too, and have reinstalled it and downloaded patch on the machine so many times over the years. Now, when he installs the latest patch, it says TFT could not be opened. Could using my discs fix the problem? Regular Warcraft 3 still works after patched.

Should I worry about this? I didn't even touch it and it had a scratch on it. It's very small but it still really bugs me. It just bugs me that I just turned it on and there's already a scratch.

I did some searching, and the only info I could find was for other applications, but nothing on Finder.
I get it from a fresh restart, with only Safari and iStat Menus running. Whatever is causing it is also hammering the processor to 100%. It's taken me almost 5 minutes just to type out this thread.

I attempted to install the FCP update on August 20th. Since then I have not been able to open FCP.I click on the icon in my dock. The mac app store opens and this warning message pops up: Final Cut Pro can not be opened while it is being updated.
FCP is not listed as a recently installed update on my list of updates (compressor worked fine). There are no other updates in my mac app store to be installed. I have restarted my computer.
