Since i've upgraded my 27 iMac to Yosemite my trackpad looses connection. i'm not able to establish a connection, the only thing that seems to work is delete the item in BT management and install it another time.
It works, but when i restart the OS the trackpad does not work another time.

I have problem with my brand new Apple LED 24:In order to manage brightness (by keyboard or in the preferences pane), I must have the USB-cable plugged into the computer.Now, it seems as if the only USB-port my 24 likes is the top front one! (Mac Pro) If I try the lower one, or any one of the three in the back, nothing happens.
And as if that wasn't enough: after a while, it looses the connection, and I have to re-plug it.My first thought: could this be due to the fact that I'm using an USB-extender (5 metres)? Is there a signal loss or something?.
My G4 MacBook Pro keeps losing its connection with my wireless Airport extreme base station. Non of my other macs do this, and this is a failry recent problem. It doesn't seem to remember the network. I've played with all the settings I could find.

I got my Mac on Saturday and since then I have had 2 instances of the mouse ceasing to work.I have checked that bluetooth is on, which it is, and MM is listed there as an attached device. However, when you move the mouse, nothing happens, the cursor stays put.I end up connecting a spare mouse. Disconnecting MM from the bluetooth menu, then re-connecting.The batteries are new and I've tried a couple of sets.

It doesn't ask for my password but it connects again. I am quite irritated with this, and it is embarrassing when my friends who have pcs come over "you have got a stupid Mac!" I love my Mac I don't want to ruin its great reputation.

My iMac i5 2.7 10.7.4 looses connection with both Magic mouse and trackpad everytime I switch to my account. The Mac reports nothing.
After the mouse switching of and on, it takes a few minutes to build up the connection again.

I have a strange issue with my TimeCapsule (firmware version 7.4.2). The TimeCapsule is connected to my router, an AVM FRITZ!Box 7140, via an ethernet cable, and I connect my MacBook Pro wirelessly with the Time Capsule. Every few hours or so (but sometimes once in every 10 minutes), the light on the TimeCapsule blinks yellow for about 10 seconds, and during that time the MacBook Pro looses connection to the internet. My best guess is that the TimeCapsule somehow looses its own internet connection.
Two more details: the TimeCapsule is in Bridge Mode, and I do not see any relevant entries in AirPort Utility's logs...
Once in a while the trackball or the keyboard loses its connection to the computer. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had a number of problems after installing Yosemite. One is that when I click on a drop-down item in the main Finder navigation, the first click of my trackpad seems to "release." I have to click a second time to take action.
Other problems after installing Yosemite have included booting only to reach a gray screen with the cursor in the upper left corner ... that's as far as it got. I've also had my screen images become something like a pixel puzzle ... rips, tears, and disintegration. I've done clean installs and reloaded content from a Time Machine backup and that has mostly, but not completely, resolved the problems. These problems, including the need to click twice described above, have occurred on both my iMac and my MacBook Pro.

I have a brand new MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014). Shipped with Yosemite pre-installed, the version I have is 10.10.1 . I don't have any software installed except Google Chrome, so it is clean/new OS.
I noticed sometimes the keyboard and trackpad become completely unresponsive after waking up the laptop from sleep. Happened several times, the last time it happened I could not reset PRAM or SMC as keyboard was unresponsive even after restarting or shutting down so I had to Re-Install OS.
Right now I have the laptop next to me, again the keyboard and trackpad are unresponsive after wakeup from sleep, and I did SMC reset but did not work. Trying to reset PRAM or go into Recovery mode .. etc, it is not responding to the keyboard, as it is unresponsive at that point as well.
What should I do ? How can I tell if it is Hardware or Software problem ? I ran the apple test diagnostics test and there was no problem reported. And I am not able to install Mavericks because it is shipped with Yosemite pre-installed so it is not allowing me to downgrade.

So, I have a Wacom Intuos-3 4x6 tablet, it's about a year old now, and never given me much grief. I use it as a gaming mouse mostly, as I never got good at drawing with it...
However, it has recently (since about a week ago) begun to make my trackpad act very strangely.
The symptoms are a little hard to summarize, but I will do my best.
My track pad is not working after i upgraded my os x to yosemite and surprisingly just the double click is working!
Also i have checked my trackpad setting in system preferences.

After a few hours of uptime, certain keys on my keyboard stop working and I have to reboot: both command keys and the zero key. Sometimes, after the computer has been in sleep a long time, the keyboard and mouse don't respond at all. I can get the computer to wake up again by pressing the power key, but the mouse and keyboard don't respond, so I can't do anything except hard boot. This problem first appeared after the update to 10.10.1. (I'm dealing with it right now, so I'm getting the '0' through the keyboard viewer, but there's no way to access that from the password screen.)

Since the dreaded Yosemite upgrade my mac has ground to more or less a total halt trying to open the internet in any number of browsers (safari and firefox to name but two).
I have been able to run a speed test and says my wifi has my 60+gb download speed and about 6 upload so no issue there.
I am confused to say the least what has gone wrong as my phone and iPad seem to work ok. simple terms if there are any solutions what the problem is as i am really crippled and my business is suffering.
PS Apple i am really not impressed by this totally botched upgrade and when going into a store to see one of the technicians they will only see you if you pay.. this is your fault i might remind you.

Ive updated safari to 8.01 this morning, and now when using safari, after a few minutes the multi gesture functions on my trackpad stop working. I can scroll down pages, flick across windows etc. even the accuracy of the cursor is limited (in editing this i tried to highlight some text to delete, but i had move about 10characters the left to get the ones i wanted).

I have updated my 2009 imac to Yosemite but with my ethernet cable plugged in I cannot access the web. The wireless works when the cable is unplugged but no internet when I plug it in. The ethernet is shown as connected with an IP address etc when I check network preferences.

The iPhone is recognized but I can not get a connection. It says Bluetooth connection is not available. When I look at the network prefs, The "Bluetooth PAN" says not connected and will not connect. They are on the same router and my Bluetooth mouse works fine. I simply can not get them to pair. Advanced for Bluetooth PAN has to configure using DCHP for IPv4 and Automatically for IPv6. Nothing else is on that sheet. This is a late 2012 iMac. New iPhone 5 (warranty replacement). Phone shows it's on my network. Checked computer and it's on my network.

Since upgrading to Yosemite I'm experiencing the following issue:
- After some time Safari stops opening URLs via Wifi connection. Restarting Safari doesn't work.
What works is switching to another Wifi connection (sometimes switching back also solves the issue)

I have a Mac OS X, Version 10.5.7, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, iMac desktop computer. I have looked high and low for a way to prevent my screen from dimming after about 2 minutes and have found nothing to help. The screen doesn't go completely dark, it just loses brightness. Here's what happens: I load a guitar chords page and begin to practice the song on the computer screen. After about two minutes the screen goes dim, which is very annoying and is difficult for me to see.
Every proposed solution I've come across refers me to the Energy Saver in the System Preferences. The problem is that the Energy Saver in the System Preferences for my desktop computer does not have the same selections as an Energy Saver in the System Preferences for a laptop. As is seen in the picture below, I don't have selections for dimming preferences that a laptop has. I don't want to install some third party program (like Caffeine) if I can avoid it. How I can disable this dimming feature on my computer?
If I open the Launchpad and start to move between its pages, Launchpad loses its smoothness after 4-5 scrolling between its pages. I thought it was because the new update, but just do not notice it before. The more icons, the more noticeable slowdown. But I have a powerful IMac and no running applications. Only 28 icons on the first page and 22 on the second. If I add 5 more icons on the first page, then the slowdown will be even worse. I have reinstall Lion to 10.7.2 but problem will not go away. I tried to reset Lauchpad but it did not work.

I have a MacMini (about 3 years old, running OS 10.6.8).
Ever since I got it I have connected it to the internet via WIFI (using an Airport Express connected to a switch - connected to a router). No problems.
But now I have pulled a cable to my office and want it connected via ethernet.
But as soon as I plug in the ethernet cable I loose my internet connection. The DSL light on my router (Zyxel Prestige) flashes a bit and turns off.
So there is no internet connection.
But the network works (i can connect my XBox to the MacMini - which are both connected to the switch)I have tried removing everything (Switch, Xbox and Airport) so it's just the the router with my MacMini connected to it. Still looses internet. The routers DSL light goes out, and I have no internet connection.

my MBP with SL 10.6.2 keeps loosing the bluetooth association with my Magic Mouse after a reboot. As a result, MagicPrefs does not work either. Only way to get working is to delete "com.apple.Bluetooth.plist" from the Library folder and restart. It's very annoying.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an late 08 unibody Mbp and a 11 mba, I have noticed the glass trackpad on the air is much closer to the glass on an iphone in the way your finger reacts to it... the least bit of moisture and your finger doesn't glide as easily. On the pro it seems to have more of a coating to allow for smoother use under these normal conditions (humidity). Has anyone else noticed this? bottom line the air trackpad almost seems more polished.

However, I ocassionally receive emails which I know are formatted as HTML, but they nevertheless show up as text... and sort of jumbled text at that (i.e., with URL links expanded inline and other issues that cause the email to be difficult to read). It doesn't happen extremely often, but it does happen often enough to be annoying. I have Mail sync'ed to several accounts: one POP3, and two IMAP as I recall. It has happened with emails retrieved from each service at one time or another.
As I understand it, an HTML email usually also contains a text version within the content... and each mail client has to recognize a given email as either HTML or text (or RTF). Indeed, I can view the raw source for the email in Mail, and I see in the payload of the email statements such as "This is a multi-part message in MIME format" followed by sections denoted as Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 and later as Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64. It just seems that Mail occassionally ignores the text/html section.
Is there a way to force Mail to switch display of a given message to HTML or to text? I see options to select "Text Encoding" under the Message menu bar option, various stylistic choices under the Format header, and even the View Raw Source option under View | Message menu bar option. This last option (View | Message) also has some options regarding display "alternatives" (plaintext, best, next, etc) but all are greyed-out. Perhaps this is the issue and Mail is simply not understanding the HTML due to a slight mistake in the format of the content and it thinks it is only displayable as plain text?
