OS X Yosemite :: How To Move Outlook 2011 Email Folders To Desktop
Dec 8, 2014
My office needs to be able to move email folders out of Outlook 2011 and into our documents to free up space.Â
We do however need to ensure that the emails are kept in date order when moved out of Outlook - is this possible?Â
So far, every time I've moved emails into a desktop folder the date created automatically changes to the date that I've moved the emails. Is there a way to retain the original date, aside from opening each email to check the date?Â
how can i recover folders that were "on my computer" . I lost them when my macbook pro shut down while using outlook 2011. i have back ups in time machine but have no idea on where or how to recover

I am fairly new to the Mac world and have been using Entourage flawlessly for my needs. I upgraded to day to Office 2011 and am having nothing but trouble with Outlook. Every time I try to open a new mail or create and email or really just click on anything, I get the spinning wheel. At this point it is rendering it unusable. I have tried removing the account and reinstalling it.
This may be purely coincidence but within the first 2-3 days of shifting over to outlook 2011, none of my emails sent to user@hotmail.com are going through. I get a system mail admin return e-mail saying unable to deliver for 4 hours. Basically saying hotmail.com is not responding. I have never had this problem on mac mail or outlook for the PC. Is this coincidence or does Outlook 2011 get the blame?
I just spent an hour Googling how to do import my Outlook 2007 email messages to Entourage 2008. Everyone kept recommending O2M by Little Machines. And while that seems like a bargain for $10, I wanted a free solution.
I experience a funny behavior of Mail. At times, when I forward emails to Outlook users, they can not see the forwarded part of the mail. This happens both with my iCloud mail address and with a corporate mail account.
On the other hand, if I send the same email from iCloud.com web page, it works fine.Â
This is very bad: I use mail for work and over 90% of my contacts use Outlook...Â
I am running Microsoft Outlook 2011 (14.4.6) on a new Mac Pro with OS X Yosemite (10.10.1). Â
A few days ago I received an email with an invitation (from a trusted source). Whenever I click on that email in Outlook's mail preview pane Outlook locks up. I don't get a lot of emails with invites, but I know I have in the past without any problem. This behavior may have started after the most recent OS update. When Outlook locks up, no other programs are affected. I can do a force quite and restart Outlook and everything behaves fine unless I click on that email. I would love to just delete it, but I can't get to it to delete it without locking up Outlook.Â

When I log off or turn off my laptop and then log back in my folders or files are in different positions then where I had placed them on my desktop previously
I have a user who just switched from Mac Mail to Outlook 2011. Getting a strange issue when sending to users on Outlook 2010 PC.
When sending a message, users on Outlook 2011 and people viewing the message via web mail can see the message fine. It reports that it's a digitally signed message (just one sentence), and the certificates look fine. Via the web, the message appears fine. It says: "This message has a digital signature. The digital signature could not be validated because the S/MIME control is not available." However, it comes up fine.
However, users on Outlook for PC (my version is 2010), cannot read it. I first get a preview pane error "This item cannot be displayed in the Reading Pane. Open the item to read its contents." And when I double-click on the message, I get a pop up window "Your Digital ID name cannot be found by the underlying security system."
Anyone can provide clues why other Outlook MAC users and via the web the message can be read, but just not PC Outlook users for now?
I will be switching from Outlook 2007 to Office for Mac Outlook 2011 for my business email/calendar/contacts. I am pleased with Outlook 2007, but despise my PC otherwise. I will be using Microsoft Exchange as my email server. My concerns: Calendar Syncing, Accessing Archived PST files, Transitioning current mail folders.
I have a couple questions regarding this switch:
- Will Office for Mac Outlook 2011 accommodate by business needs and offer a comparable application as Office 2007 (PC version)?
- What roadblocks or issues should I be aware of when making this switch?
i have an ISP that i am considering 'breaking up' with. of course i have a ton of emails on their servers that i wish to copy to my computer before i do so.
is there an easy way of doing this, la drag and drop? all of my searches end up talking about the application Mail which i don't currently use.
the desktop, from which all icons and folders have disappeared, when I press command shift n, which should create a BLESSEDLY VIEWABLE folder on the desktop, nothing happens. I am a MAC convert, but have built up my hate muscle on this one.
I am VERY new to Macs have always had PC,s. we are switching the house and personal laptops to Macs. My major problem at this time is email. Is there a way to add outlook express email to the mobile me email account?
How do you like it? I am still on Entourage 2004. I do not use exchange so not sure if it would be worth it. At the job we use Windows and Outlook anyways so dont know if it would be worth it to buy Outlook 2011. Is Outlook 2011 worth the price or should I stay with Office 2004? I use Mail a bit, but it lacks a number of features found in Entourage so I switch back and forth between the two mail clients.
I hope I have the right board. Has anyone used Outlook 2011? If so what do you think? I am am still using 2004. Its got allot more features than Mail (although Mail is much faster). I would like to upgrade but want to hear what others say first. I also wonder if it would be worth it, since I am no longer a student and all use of MS Office at the job is done there on a Windows PC. I do not take my work home.
We use Exchange 2007 in our office. My mail, notes, and tasks all work fine in my Outlook 2011 for MAC. The calendar is blank. I have removed and added the account twice. It's been this way for more than a week. My calendar is fine when I go through outlook web access. It is also working on my iphone. Others in the office using the same Lion version have no problems. I added my account to another MAC with 10.6.2 and everything, including calendar, works fine.
I've got a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.7.3), iPhone 4 and iPad 2. I use Office/Outlook for Mac 2011. The email is fine, but I can't figure out how to get contacts and calendar to sync with iPhone & iPad using iCloud. Is there a way to use iCloud to sync contacts and calendars across all devices?

Apple Master Mind's for one more time i need your light for one **** of a mind bogling matter. In Microsoft Outllook for mac it keeps asking me for my password for its and every one of my email accounts, thats ok !!!!!! But every time i enter the password after 20-30 minutes keeps asking again.Â
Not Option to..... Unistall OutlookDelete Account "Company Account" needs 4 hours to sync, im in oman.
I've read around the forums a bit and found some discussion on connectivity for sending / receiving emails via Outlook. Is it true that POP3 support is not going to happen with Outloook for Mac 2011? I have been testing the software and am able to recieve emails from my Godaddy POP3 but can not send anything out.
Is there an email/calendar/notes client out there that is close to Outlooks functionality? I am a nub as this is my first Mac and would really like to know what else is out there that is comparable and combines the features mentioned earlier. So far I love the OS and the speed...My custom built PC has shut down for the last time.
I have just purchased a Mac Pro and will be using MS Office with Outlook. My G4 MDD desktop is running Entourage 10.1.6. Is there a way to transfer the data [emails and addresses] from Entourage to Outlook?
I just returned to the iPhone after 2 years with Android and am trying to sync my calendar and address book via iCal. Supposedly this was made possible by Outlook 11 Service Pack 2, released in April, but I can't make it work. I'm on the current versions of Lion (10.7.3), Microsoft Office (14.2.2) and iPhone (5.1.1). Here's some of what I have tried so far: Rebuilding the Microsoft Office database. Turning sync services off in Outlook by unchecking all the boxes, then turning it back on again. Resetting Sync Services on the mac side from the menu at the top of screen. Going into Library/Preferences and deleting everything related to SyncServer. I also tried creating a new OS X user account then syncing up that account from Outlook to see if there was a problem with my user account and once again could not sync.
I just purchased a Macbook Air and MS Office 2011 for Mac. I setup the computer while I was at work (using a wireless network) and was able to get all my emails in perfect order. Â
However, once I got home (on my home wireless network) when I hit Send/Receive, I get the "Authentication Failed Error 17900" message. Â
I must add that I have 5 different accounts setup, 4 are my personal domains and one is Gmail. Gmail works fine on outlook both from my office and home.Â
I tried changing many settings in Outlook, but nothing seems to work. I'm not really good with these things, but my logic tells me that if everything works in the office and not at home, it must have something to do with my router at home! Could this be the case? My office is an hour away and I hate to go there just to check or send emails.Â
