Intel Mac :: Cannot Install Adobe Flash Or Shockwave On OS X 10.7.3

Mar 21, 2012

I purchased my imac in late June 2011 and updated software to Lion in July. Everything worked fine until December 2011 and the flash player disappeared. I have tried to install the adobe flash player they recommend for Lion and it will not install. I then read a post from Klaus 1 who gave the links and said to install adobe shockwave which I did and it worked for about 1 hour then it disappeared.

Windows On Mac :: How To Install 7 64-bit Supported On Mid-2007 MBP

Feb 9, 2010

Just thought I'd let all you out there know I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on my Mid-2007 MacBook Pro (2.4Ghz C2D[Santa Rosa]; 2 GB DDR2; 160 Gig HDD) - and I did it all for about 40 bucks. It was a bitch, but after two days of messin' around and countless Google searches later (gotta love the Touch), viola: full 64-bit Windows 7 on my "unsupported" Mac.

First thing I had to do was get rid of that old Tiger. Snow Leopard for 30 bucks is a great deal, and installing is easy. My original intention was to do a clean install, but I actually accidentally upgraded directly from Tiger to SL, which I didn't think was possible. I went with this at first, but ultimately opted toward the clean install for various reasons. Now, with the easy part behind me, it was time to install 7...

Applications :: Shockwave Speed Up ?

May 13, 2009

I have an iBook G4 using 10.4.11 and the newest version of shockwave 11.5. My problem is that running a shockwave site eats up my CPU cycles and nearly overheats my iBook. First, what is the difference between hardwave and software rendering? Second, with the full install instead of the slim, what can I do differently in the full?

The most important thing is: how can I get shockwave to not eat up CPU cycles and memory?

MacBook Pro :: Quicktime--Shockwave--eating Up RAM

Apr 5, 2012

I have a program called Free Memory. It shows you how much available RAM you have left to use.  Last week, my available RAM, which is usually somewhere between 3GB-5GB, was down at about 250MB!  I checked the RAM usage in Activity Monitor, and it showed that Quicktime was using about 5GB of RAM.  Yes 5GB.I closed Quicktime and the RAM jumped back up.I reopened it and I could actually watch as my RAM just poured off.  In less than 2 minutes, it went from 5GB available to about 100 MB again.Today, the same thing happened, but the RAM sucker was Shockwave.  Has anybody heard of this happening before?  If so, what is the solution? Here is some more info.  In the "console" I often get these --- Exception Type:

EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)A few months back, the Genius Bar people wiped my hard drive clean and we reloaded my stuff from a back up.  Maybe there are still issues.

OS X Yosemite :: Clean Install Running Very Slow?

Nov 30, 2014

I recently had a new hard drive put in my 2007 iMac and have been experiencing some problems.  I did a clean install of mavericks, then upgraded to Yosemite and the machine has been very laggy, finder and all programs included.  I saw a few posts about FileVault being an issue but I checked and it is turned off.

I should also add that the machine was running fine on Mavericks, slowness only started after the Yosemite upgrade.

I want to re-install Snow Leopard, from DVD, and do a clean install to remove Yosemite.

When I boot with DVD, in the drive the DVD drive, and holding the Option key down the Mac sees and starts to boot from the DVD.  Then it all goes quiet and nothing further happens.

I have a 2012 Mac Pro.  I thought it would be just a case of using the Snow Leopard DVD and got a new DVD in post today.

I'm downloading it from the ap store now, My question is this, I purchased ilife 09 and ilife 11.  This shouldnt be a problem should it?  I should do the custom install on 09 (opting only for iDvd) then do the same for 11 right?
