Dec 11, 2010i have the harry potter movies 1-6 in my itunes library and they are not in order according to how they were made....like it goes the second one, then the fourth is next to it, etc..... so its organizing alphabetically which is fine....but is there anyway to organize them according to movie 1, movie2, etc.

Jul 25, 2009A few years ago I decided to put all my DVD's in storage and rip them in divx/h264 format to an external HD that I plugged into my PS3 for easy access. The problem is that when my GF and I want to watch a movie, I have to explain each movie and we choose one based on the title without access to the movie cover or any meta data. I was wondering if there was a program akin to itunes that would go through my hard drive and (with some help with me) identify each movie and find the cover art etc. I don't know how automatic this will be. I don't mind spending some time assisting the program but I don't want to go and do it by hand.
If you find a windows software I can run it on virtualbox as well.
OS X :: Won't Organize All Music In Finder By Album
Sep 1, 2009I have over 20,000 songs in iTunes, and for some reason, all of them are organized in Finder [Finder>Music>iTunes>iTunes Music] by Artist. And its really annoying when trying to move a folder from one album rather than one artist!! I need to know how to change it so that iTunes organizes all those folders in Finder by Album.
for a lot of songs for eg. one song by Artist A, one song by Artist B, and a third song duet by by both A and B, it makes 3 different folders for all 3 songs, so its uber hard to find what I want.
OS X V10.7 Lion :: Custom Organize Files/folder In Finder?
Jun 22, 2012I don't like the way that finder arranges my files and folders. I have tried all the arrangements and none of them "flow" for me. What I would like to do is to be able to put my files / folders where I want them. I like to group similar folders together and put the most important files/folders at the top. Now this isn't an exhaustive list of how I want to arrange them. Its more about where my eyes go and what I want to see. I am a new mac user so maybe this is a really simple fix that I don't know about.

is there a program, that recognizes all albums with no missing tracks and good sampling rate, corrects the tag information and downloads the covers from the internet. automatically.... I would then delete all other songs and albums with missing tracks.

Mar 16, 2009When I first installed iTunes, I declined the option for iTunes to automatically change the mp3's file names to an organized format. For example, [windows], my 'My Music' folder is very disorganized with files that have the artist first, or just the song name, and even 01 'song name'.
Is there a way I can turn that setting back on so iTunes organizes everything for me? Or was I misinterpreting what it meant?

May 11, 2009Im a little confused with the way itunes organizes songs. Last night I added some of my cds to itunes and I got a little confused after trying to find my songs and not being on one spot which is what I was expecting to see or at least separated by album.
Where does itunes places downloaded songs from a CD? How can I organize my songs (after uploaded) by Artist and Album? Can I create a playlist for each Artist is this the right way to do it? Can someone show me the way the music should be organized in itunes? Can someone explain how itunes organizes songs by default or direct me to where I can get the right information?

Sep 11, 2010Four years ago I bought the iMac I am using right now, I was a PC user (actually used Macs in the 90s) and I never knew if I was doing things properly. Since I am buying a new iMAc next week I need to know how to organize folders.
In my current iMac I have all my applications in the applications folder, I think that is ok. But for example, for my Photoshop and Flash projects I have made a folder in the Macintosh HD with my name and inside that folder I have many other folders. How should I organize my work? Should I put them in the documents folder or what?

May 18, 2012I am unable to import TV shows or movies purchased from the iTunes store to the iTunes library on my Mac Book Pro. What I do, is have a main iTunes library on my desktop Mac, where all my purchases get stored. I will then use the Import process via Home Sharing to put them on my MBP for when I'm travelling or away from home. I tried this yesterday and the files were transferred from my desktop to my MBP but are not showing up in iTunes. I have also tried the 'Add to library' and 'drag and drop' method direct from the MBP library location, but still no joy. It would seem that this has only started since the recent OSX 10.7.4 update, but I can't be sure.....I haven't needed to do it for almost two months.

Dec 14, 2010I was wondering if such software exist. I have a mac pro in my home office and would like to also plug a second monitor (HD TV) in the living room. Is there a way for me to see what is showing on the TV? I want to use that instead of streaming to my apple TV in the living room which is unable to play 1080p movies. Of course I don't want to mirror both monitors, I would like to be able to look at my emails in the office while my girlfriend watch a movie.

OS X :: Unable To Merge Subtitles With Movies / Submerge Not Working
Aug 1, 2009I've been using Submerge for a while to merge subtitles to some movies. It's been working fine. But today I got a problem. I tried several times, with different movies, to merge subtitles, but it wouldn't work. The software renders the subtitles, I can watch it with Submerge, but when I try to export it as a flatten movie ou mpeg4, the subtitles are not there when I use the file in my DivX Compatible DVD Player. It was working until yesterday. In VLC they appear, but in a separated window (weird!)
I've installed PEnGUIn Encoder MP4 this morning (and updated its binaries). Could it be related? Did anyone get this issue, too? What should I do? Any guesses?

Sep 24, 2009Used to run Flip4Mac Pro Version 2.2.3.7 with Quicktime 7 Pro on Leopard.Upgraded to Snow Leopard and got the 'Quicktime must be installed on this machine...' messages. OK, fair enough. Known issue.
Installed the Snow Leopard compatible 2.3.0.11-BETA with Pro licence but now have lost the ability to trim movies once they are opened in the Quicktime X window. However, if I navigate and open with Quicktime 7 Pro I can trim them.
Can anyone explain I should expect to happening and/or if this a bug or what?
MacBook Pro :: Unable To Play .vob File From DVDs With Transferred Super8 Movies
Mar 29, 2012I have an old DVD custom made from old super - 8 home movies. It plays well in a home DVD player meant to plug into the TV. My MBP 15" mid-2010 8x SuperDrive optical drive cannot play this - on calling up the files to be played, I see a folder with grayed-out files. Furthermore, I can't get out of the DVD player easily and have to do the Force Quit to shut down the program and use Disc Utility to eject the disc. (I use Disc Utility to dismount all types of discs, by habit).My SuperDrive works fine for commercial DVD movies, reading and writing CDs, etc. The "home movies" DVD's file extensions are: .vob, .ifo, .bup. The "home movie" files are:
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VIDEO_TS.VOB
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB and so on for the chapters
Do I need to have the "home movie" DVD remastered in a different format?

Even on my MBP when listening to music from iTunes. But Movies in iTunes don't work. The AirPlay icon in a movie playing in iTunes only shows "computer" and doesn't show any other options.
Applications :: Won't Work With Movies In IPhoto / No Longer Movies
Dec 13, 2009I had a bunch of movies that took with my digital camera that were always imported into iPhoto when I transferred my pictures into it. I used to just be able to click on them in iPhoto and the movie would open up and play. Now it seems that my movies are gone and all that I have of my movies is the first frame as a picture and nothing else. Their file extensions used to say .mov but now are .jpg. I've tried changing the extension back to .mov but no movie is there and the file sizes are not what a movie should be.
I'm running Snow Leopard on a 13" Macbook Pro with newest version of iPhoto. I have quicktime X and Quicktime 7 installed.

Sep 11, 2009I downloaded this application for my iPhone which installed itself into my applications folder. Soon after I downloaded it I decided I didn't really want it and tried to delete it, but it kept on saying "Unable to delete" cause it was in use or something. I did look at some threads giving advice on this subject and tried some other ways of deleting it but nothing happened and the file name is now "deleteme.rtf.app". Whenever I try Terminal it says there isn't a file on the desktop and I've made 100% sure all the letters are the right spaces apart etc, so now I'm stuck.

Jul 18, 2010I was trying to burn a few MP3 for a friend of mine today outside of iTunes (ripped from flv). I threw in a CD-R and was prompted to choose what to do. Because it was a simple burn, I was going to use finder. For some reason, I can't. This is the window that pops up when I try to choose "Open with Finder" Code: The operation can�t be completed because you don�t have the necessary permission. Not sure whats up with that seeing as I am admin on my MBP. I have repaired permissions and that didn't work. Weird still, I can burn in iTunes and Toast. Anyone have any ideas of what is going on?

OS X :: Unable To Use Finder / Doesn't Rename Immediately
Nov 27, 2008I'm having a slight problem with Finder, and it's quite annoying. When I right-click and select new folder, it doesn't let me rename it immediately. I have to press enter first.
The strange thing is, it only does this in List view.
All of the other views let me rename the folder immediately after I select 'new folder' on the context menu.
Is there a way to fix this?
