I've found a very rough way of shutting it off by going into System Preferences->Sound->Sound Effects and turning off "Play user interface sound effects" but ideally I'm looking for a way to turn off specific UI sounds not just all of them at once.
View 2 RepliesLast week in the middle of my work day nothing special, the system started playing the camera shutter / screen capture. I started timing between the shutter, every 30 seconds, very annoying - the camera shutter sound - same as the shift-4 screen capture sound and same as the sound that occurs when you press the back button in terminal. I have a 15 inch mac book pro. 2009 model.
I wondered whether someone had installed a hidden shell script or apple script program and is capturing my screen and maybe sending it over the net. I don't know where to look or how to turn this off.
I have checked activity monitor and did not notice any programs running like "screencapture" or anything else like that. I have also turned hidden files visable on, but i can't find any screen capture directory or files: .jpg, .pdf, .png files I should be seeing lots of them for every 30 seconds per capture.
I have also installed little snitch, nothing strange seems to be going out by way of connections. Only dropbox, i have deleted that but the noise still keeps going. I will have to reinstall again..
Does the new Quicktime capture on screen video with sound? If not is there a way to do it? Other good reliable programs out there that do what I am looking for?
I'm not too sure about the correct terminology but I'd like to record what's being done on my screen with iMovie using CamTwist. Reason being that I want to record myself drawing something from start to finish.
Yes, I did launch CamTwist before iMovie, but it doesn't show up in the camera drop down.
Does anyone what to do? - or even a different application that can get the job done for me.
Lastly. I know there's a sound control option on PCs that allow you to transmit what sound is being played on your computer; for example: playing a song on your computer for someone to hear on Ventrilo.
i was trying to get a screen capture of an issue with itunes when previewing tv shows/movies..etc but it appears you can no longer take screen caps of iTunes movies/tv shows (well ones you didnt import yourself).... or is there a work around?

This is the image I get on my iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo OSX10.5.4. I have repaired permisions and removed all login items. Once I move the cursor or open up a window the screen clears behind the cursor or window etc... It freezes up at least once or twice a day...
I started up again and attached another screen, the image was normal on both screens. But alone the iMac still starts up with the pixelated screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is unnerving. At random intervals, my screen flashes. It more like "winks" - as though a screen capture was being made. Actually, when you make a real screen capture, the screen doesn't wink, but that's the impression I get. The screen doesn't flicker or flash like it's a hardware bad connection, but goes through a fast, but continuous normal-white-normal cycle. I'm looking at my activity monitor to see if something is unusual, but I can't tell. Everything I look up seems to be real.

Out of the blue 'shift+Command+3', and 'shift+command+4' are not working. I can hear the camera clicking sound and a .png is saved on the desktop but it is always a stripy image.

When I try to take rapid fire screen captures (5-7 caps/sec) using the shortcut keys, only a 3-4 of these captures will show up on the desktop, and it generally takes 5-7 seconds for them to call show up. I never had a problem doing this until I reformatted/reinstalled snow leopard over the weekend - even when all programs are shut down this lag occurs.

I wanted to fix this hardware problem with my iMac G4 20". Basically the LCD screen has a redish tint in the corners, only really visible when displaying something bright/white. Also, when looking at the screen from an angle when displaying a black image, it looks completely red. What's the fault here? Is it the panel itself or the backlight?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having a regular problem with my MacBook screen. Every time I put it to sleep, when it starts back up again the screen stays blank / black. The way to remedy this issue is to close the lid and open it again immediately. Then the screen comes on and no further problems.
