I was just wondering how to properly delete stuff such as widget or programs I've downloaded to try and didn't like. I have been just dragging and dropping into the trash, but I fear that I may be leaving other files behind by mistake.

They are all stuck at a fixed size (not the same form one to the next) and redownloading has not fixed the problem.
I just bought the 13" Macbook Pro. I love my computer. I am having issues with heat coming from the computer. When I touch the left side of the keyboard, the keys are burning hot. I downloaded iStats widget and it says my computer is running at 103 degress F. Should I be concerned? It makes an outrageous amount of noise. This computer is only 1 week old! (new)THE CPU IS CURRENTLY RUNNING 180 degrees F with 2gb of ram left.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI juts bought a new Macbook Pro and I downloaded a program I would like to use to make music called Sylenth1 after buying this I tried to installed it by first downloading the dmg file on to my downloads folder, then clicking the box which opened up installer. I followed all the on screen commands to install the program properly, and after instilation it made the chiming noise. Now I cannot find the program anywhere on this computer...

How I could delete themes that I downloaded from google chrome. Everytime I downloaded them, while it downloads it'll show up in my folder but once it finishes it, it automatically applies it and disappears from the folder. I checked chrome://extensions/in and it says no extensions. Does the browser not keep themes installed? When I click "reset default theme" does that mean the theme I installed automatically deletes?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Yahoo mail (have been for about 8-9 years). I now read my mail through the web, download it to Mail on my iMac, iPhone and now iPad. I like using the native Mail applications on each device rather than going to the web, but I use the webpage when I'm at work. When I want to delete mail that I don't want. I do like leaving it on the server so I can check old e-mails from any location. Is there a way to manage all of this so I don't have to delete about 20-30 unneeded mail messages from 4 different places? It becomes pretty annoying seeing that same message that I deleted twice before show up on another device (along with 100 others) if I don't check a device for a few days.

My day in history widget has become invisible when I open up the dashboard.. Invisible but not gone because when I click in the icon in the list at the bottom of the page it sort of semi appears on the page but disappears with an effect like ripples in a pond (,which is in it's self a fantastic effect) The cross is still there in the top right corner though.
Any ideas as to what I have cocked up now

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a question about using my new samsung tv as a monitor for my macbook. I have all the cables and such and my TV reads the computer. It actually shows the desktop background, mouse, and the toolbar on the tv...
BUT....when i try and open a program such as safari or itunes it does not display the program on the monitor but rather on my macbook screen. It shows the program open on the tv monitor but it shoots off the screen and then opens on the macbook screen.
Also the mouse disappears from the tv monitor screen on the left side only, and when it does it becomes visible back on the macbook screen! Any tips or suggestions on how to get the programs to show up on the monitor instead of the macbook screen?
About a month ago, a friend who had just purchased his first Mac emailed me and asked why his Dock DownLoad file disappeared. I had no idea why. He still hasn't been able to reestablish it.
Yesterday, I downloaded something and my Dock DownLoad file vanished. I have tried rebooting, using (useless) Help, Spotlight, Search, and several other things. NO JOY. NO DownLoad file.
1. Does anyone know where to find DownLoad or how to bring it back?
I have experienced several idiosyncrasies with Snow Leopard, but when I call Apple support, they are very nice, but haven't a clue as to why it's happening.
2. Another problem is that the Highlight gets anchored on something in Mail, Word, and some other Apps. When I click somewhere else, the whole area between the "anchor" and what I click on is lit up. Apple doesn't know what causes it. I have to go through multiple machinations to shake it loose. I don't know what it is that causes it or specifically how to "shake it loose". Neither does Apple.
3. When typing in Word or an editor, there are times when the type changes to UpperCase and won;t let go.
Another problem is that, at times, when I click on a file, it fills the screen. Apple is aware of this problem and is trying to find an answer. Nothing, to date.
Apple support can't tell me why the MacMail Inbox spinner disappeared or how to get it back.
There are times when I can't access the hidden Dock. After rebooting and trying other things, the Dock finally shows up but any additions that I have put on the Dock are no longer there.
When I put a DVD in the slot, for the first few seconds, it grinds but does smooth out.
I thought that SL was supposed to get rid of the "foibles". "What happened on the way to the Forum"?
Is anyone finding other SL idiosyncrasies? What are they?
If anyone can help with items 1., 2, and/or 3. I'd be grateful.
BTW, Apple says that items 2 and 3 MAY be caused by the wireless Magic Mouse and/or the wireless keyboard; however, when I use alternates, it still happens.
I have 4 weather widgets (the standard one that came with OS X). And after a restart, some of them have gone up a bit, or down. So as you can imagine with 4 of them, it can get unorganized if I don't move them back to their original positions.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm typing from a Toshiba, a sad day indeed. Was hacking away normally on my G4 1.3 with 10.4.11 installed and saw an exclamation point on my currency converter widget. Last time I just clicked it, got an update and reinstalled, or it reinstalled itself after opening. Well, today I downloaded the update, and after clicking the icon on my desktop nothing happened. Opened dashboard and the exclamation point is still there. Since I don't know much and Apple has been so bullet-proof until now I dragged this icon on top of my dashboards in the dock and released thinking that maybe it would put it there. The system locked, and I have spent the whole day surfing an answer since now and I'm still stuck in the login screen loop and can hear the CPU working away.
