Since I restored from a time machine backup, all the programs in the "open with" for media files are showing up twice (except QT for some reason). What needs to be done to get them back to normal?

I have a question about using my new samsung tv as a monitor for my macbook. I have all the cables and such and my TV reads the computer. It actually shows the desktop background, mouse, and the toolbar on the tv...
BUT....when i try and open a program such as safari or itunes it does not display the program on the monitor but rather on my macbook screen. It shows the program open on the tv monitor but it shoots off the screen and then opens on the macbook screen.
Also the mouse disappears from the tv monitor screen on the left side only, and when it does it becomes visible back on the macbook screen! Any tips or suggestions on how to get the programs to show up on the monitor instead of the macbook screen?
I have recently updated to Lion. How can i stop mail and other programs showing on startup?

I have spaces enabled and most apps are set to a specific screen (iTunes in 2, Mail in 3, etc.) but when I'm in space 1 and I want to open itunes, I click the icon and it pulls me into space 2, as opposed to leaving me in space 1.
Is there any way to set the apps to just open in the background without becoming the active app, thus pulling me into a different screen.
I'm looking for a way to open 2 programs at the same time when I click one from the dock. My example is opening Spotify, and I want Airfoil to open at the same time to stream the audio.

I tried to reinstall the Adobe applications and before I can I get the message:
"Adobe Illustrator 13.0.0 [k] (Universal) cannot be opened because of a problem."
without getting the option of installing an update. I also tried to copy the programs from the Old to the New HD with no luckÂ

the programs were working fine untill about a week when my computer crashed during an update to 10.5.6. I had to reset the NRAM and PRAM, and then it started up working fine. now when i attempt to open and office program or photoshop, they dont open and it says it has closed unexpectedly.
Also, when i try to reinstal it from the disk, the intallation app closes unexpectedly as well.
Since the crash, safari and firefox open, but i have to reset and relaunch it every time.
This happened to me once before, but i ended up bringing my computer into the mac store and hey fixed it, but i am wondering if there is a way i can do it without having to bring it and not have my computer for a day.

When cursor is moved to bottom left corner- screen will program icons, but programs will not open

This week I have several programs that are quitting unexpectedly, or will not open all of a sudden. Photoshop CS, office 2004, and even the Appleworks programs. They all refuse to open. I uninstalled PS and the office products, and then tried to reinstall and couldn't even do that from the install disk. I did do a disk repair scan, but it said there was nothing wrong with the disk. And I'm getting some SymSecondary launch(whatever that is) failure as well.

My mac is freezing all the time. I can't have more than three programs open at the same time, like forefox, word and spotify. If I do that, it crashes and have to turn it off with the power button. I have some big programs on it, like all the Adobe programs. The mac is just over a year old. It have a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, and have 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR 3 memory, also running iOS 10.9.4. The Mac OS X on the system has suddenly frozen her out of everything but the finder and the desktop. It boots fine and pops up on the desktop, and everything looks completely normal. But when you want to run an application and click on it, a big fat question mark appears over the icon in the bottom menu, no matter what application you click on. Further more it appears that all applications has been wiped from the system when you enter the applications folder. It is completely empty.
Now I've tried to click on different stuff, such as the internet, to turn it off, but nothing happens. I've also tried to enter the OSX preferences, but nothing happens when I do. At times it comes up with the message that you don't have permission to open certain programs, even though the programs apparently dont exist on the Mac. I've interrogated my girlfriend about her activity, and she swears she has done nothing out of the ordinary like download shady software or anything, and apparently all of this has come like lightning from a clear sky.
How do i get programs to not automatically open when i power on my laptop? I tried system preference > General and unchecked the box "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening" that didnt work.

I want to have OpenOffice as the default program to open .doc, .xls and .ppt files, but when I try to set that by chosing the check box that confirms, "Make this program the default program for opening these files?" my choice doesn't "stick" for the next time I open these files. Is there another way to make OpenOffice the default program for these files, or does OfficeMac not play nicely to allow that?Â

After install of OSX Lion (from Snow Leopard). I receive every 10 seconds a message: "Cannot open program ExpressAccountsAgent, because PowerPC-programs are no longer supported". I have a macbook air and everything was working fine until all of a sudden my computer froze. I then rebooted my computer by holding down the power key because it would not allow me to open or close any programs. After i rebooted whenever i open safari, itunes, or ichat the computer freezes. i don't know what is going on because firefox and other programs seem to be working fine but certrain programs i open freezes up the computer. the dock stops working and the clock does not even run. i am able to move the mouse around but i can not click and open or close anything.
