I've had my iMac for a few months now and the printing has always annoyed me. Even though I've set the default page size to US Letter in the Printers and Faxes System Preferences, when I try and print from Safari it always initially sets it up in a 12x12 size! Also, when I try and print out soemting from a website the text or whatever else doesn't fit on the page.

I downloaded the latest Snow Leopard driver for the printer from the apple site. Fax and scanner now work, but now I can only print (single copies) with the HP from any application when I use the "print" icon; but when I try file>print to print multiple copies or switch to another printer, the application crashes (Entourage, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Mail, Word for MAC, Excel for MAC, no matter).

Running 10.9.3 at the moment and having unusual printer issues at the office. Basically, when going to the print dialogue box and clicking "print" to any printer that is turned off or that OSX doesn't recognize, it will crash the app. The unusual thing is that even after turning the printer back on, any app that tries to print won't even make it to the print dialogue box and crashes immediately on clicking File>Print or Command-P. Clicking on Printers in System Prefs crashes System Prefs. Most of the time even a restart won't solve the issue.  It does seem to resolve itself the next day after I go home and come back to the office.

When I go to print it either the preview is totally blank or one page that I was viewing at the time previews and the print dialog box shows the additional 8 pages but they are all blank. I'm baffled. If I use Chrome and go from its interface to preview it works perfectly.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden out of nowhere, one, and only one PDF, will only print on 1/4 of a page. Everything else prints fine, other PDFs print to full pages, anything outside of Safari prints as it should--it's just this one PDF in Safari, it's driving me crazy. I've logged out, logged back in, restarted my MBP, even reset safari--and nothing at all. All printer settings/scaling are as they should be, and the preview shows a full page document, but what comes out of the printer is 1/4 page. Here's the PDF: It prints fine in FF, but for some reason it's coming out super light/blurry/grayscale/crappy, so it's no good.

when opening a pdf in Safari I used to be able to press the right mouse button and could choose between printing and opening the pdf in Preview. This dialog seems to have disappeared (a new dialog with loads of unusefull crap like choosing tools is now shown instead). Most importantly, however, I can't print the pdfs anymore when using Safari's menu print (the pdf is o.k. it all works in firefox and opera). While the dialog opens correctly, only a blank document is printed. Also the export as pdf option does not work anymore.I'm running an Imac with mac os x lion, most recent updates installed. I have an HP 7510 installed wirelessly on my mac. I use USPS.com to print priority postage labels and the barcode part of the label does not print. Also some web pages with info contained within boxes will print info outside of box , but leave info in box blank.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOS loads very slowly...then once it does load, regular apps load okay, but safari and firefox and finder will not show up. it goes to sleep much faster than it usually does. i get spinning beachballs all the time. strangely, if i click a link in adium, it will come up in safari just fine.

Under purchases I'm getting "you have not purchased any apps." Under Itunes in the Cloud all my apps are listed as hidden but when I click "view hidden purchases" it says I do not have any hidden purchases. I have three Macs and all are experiencing the same issue so this is an account problem and not a computer software problem. The funny thing is that it's still recognizing updates.Yes, I've tried signing out and back in to view my account with no luck. The only thing I did weird last night was I disabled the Itunes store and automatic downloading on one computer. This morning when I had the above problem I put all the settings back.Â

I have a new 21.5" iMac and have been playing around with everything. When I started two weeks ago I had an Apps folder with the Apps logo on the dock to the right of the dotted separation. All the applications are there lined up with the first application showing but for my consternation I cannot put the Applications in there folder like it was when I started out two weeks ago. This is the Snow Leopard OS.

There are two reasons for this:
1. I have deleted apps in iTunes that I don't want, but not on the iPhone. I don't want to transfer the apps back to iTunes because I want them gone.
2. I have bought apps on the iPhone that I do want to keep. I want these transferred to iTunes.Â
So if I have both types 1 and 2 then there is no good answer. Preferably iTunes should offer to sync and choose which apps to transfer and what not to transfer. Is there a way to change this behaviour? By the time I sync I don't know what I've done so I'm usually not sure how to answer the question. Sometimes I like to bulk delete apps in iTunes--it is easier than doing it on the iPhone.

I have just upgraded my laptop to Windows Vista and I am beginning to get everything back onto the computer after a fresh install. I am now attempting to setting up the shared printers that I have on an eMac and an iMac (both are 10.4.9). I got the file sharing to work between all 3 computers. In XP, I used Bonjour and that was it. I used Bonjour and it found both printers, but it said that it could not find printer drivers. Does anyone know how to get this vista computer printing?

So I decided that I wanted to print wirelessly to my printer (which is connected to my XP PC via USB) from my MacBook. When I set up the printer, it finds it and everything, so i go to Word and try and print a Word Document. On the jobs manager on my XP PC, it says the document name is: 'Remote Downlevel Document' and it says spooling, printing, the either sits there forever or just vanishes. My Printer is a Canon PIXMA iP1800.

I have followed set up from about site and it seems all set up, but its not printing, I check the printer jobs and it seems its sending them as the jobs appear both on my mac and then on my p.c very briefly, but nothing prints.
