OS X :: Open Picture - Can't Press Next
May 17, 2009how come when you open up a picture file preview opens it and you cant press next to see the next picture when trying to browse through a folder full of pictures?

PowerPC :: IBook G4 - When I Press Power Button, Power Fan Comes On, But No Picture Shows
Feb 10, 2008I have a iBook G4 laptop and there seems to be something very wrong with it. It started a few days ago just randomly. I was reading something on the internet and the screen went black on me, but the power was still on (I clicked CAPS LOCK to see if there was power). I then proceeded to push the power button and the power went off. When I pressed the power button again to turn it on, it made that internal noise it always makes and then the fan came on, and wouldn't turn off. There was no picture on the screen at all. Completely dead. But there was power, because when I clicked on the CAPS LOCK, the light came on). I tried pressing on the power button for at least 15 seconds and even went as long as a minute, and the power didn't go off.

Dec 30, 2008I am a recent Mac user and there is one thing that is bugging me. In Windows, if I wanted to view all the pictures one by one in a folder, I'd just double click and Windows Picture Preview will launch and you can hit the left / right arrow keys to go to the other pictures. In the Mac side, to achieve this, you have to select every picture file for you to be able to hit the right / left arrow keys to advance. You can't just open one picture and have it open everyone in the folder. Anyone know how I can make this work?

Apr 11, 2009I've been using my macbook for a few months right now, and primarily use it for recording me and my band-mates on Logic express, but now, I've not been able to use my iSight on my mac. I don't know what's wrong with it, because I've always been able to take photos with friends in Photo Booth and take movies with it as well. Up till now that is. A few days ago I tried to open up Photo Booth and snap a picture, but all I got was a blank screen. The program would count down, but the screen would just be white instead of showing what it would take. The little green light next to it would go on as well, but it wouldn't take a picture, and nothing is blocking the screen either.

Mar 29, 2008Ok I have been trying to find the reason why this is happening. I am having an issue with the icons disappearing, the file is still there and you can click on it if you click on the words, but the icon is not there just the icon is gone. The icon that is not showing up is the folder icon primarily. I have searched several different sites and can not find an answer to my problem. I have tried to do the equivalent of a (rebuild desktop) desktop reset which was a program I downloaded from apple: URL
It did not help either and after installing that and doing the reset. Now when I go to open a picture, it opens in color sync instead of preview. The only way I can open a picture in preview is to open preview and then open a picture through it. It is like color sync is the default for some reason. Does someone know how to fix this? But my main concern is tis icon issue I am having. I don't know what to do as it is making it very hard to work. This even carries over to my external drives when hooked up. I need help as I do not know why it is doing this. : (
As far as other information, I just installed Tiger a few months ago if that helps any and this is on a mac mini. Other than that everything has been the same. I have relaunched the finder through opt+cmd+esc but it is not available to relaunch through right clicking the icon on the dock. Also it no longer allows me to drag a picture file over a program like Photoshop in the dock to open it in Photoshop. What is going on here? This getting crazy!!

OS X :: Cannot Copy And Paste In Word Press
Sep 29, 2010I am switching from blogger to Word Press and am frustrated in Word Press because I can not copy and paste. I can't do it with my command c and v or my mouse. I can highlight with the mouse but then can't paste it anywhere.
Occasionally I can copy a full paragraph and then try and paste it and only the first sentence will paste not the entire thing.
My designer is also on a mac and is not having any problems in my wordpress.
MacBook Pro :: Clinks When Press Trackpad?
Jan 4, 2011I have a new Macbook Pro 15' (MC372). Its a very nice computer, I'm just having some annoying sound when i click with my trackpad. From time to time I can hear some kind of metallic echo (on realase), it sounds like something is a bit loose, clinky/rattling/jingling sound. A bit like in an old mouse when you can hear the spring working.
I know many people complain about trackpad being noisy etc. but this is a bit different. Except for the proper click there is this second sound, when the trackpad is going back to its position after clicking. I had it checked by Apple and they replaced the trackpad - but it didnt help. I don't hear this sound on either of demo computers, so it can't really be normal. If replacing trackpad doesnt help then my guess is - its something else. But what can it be?
The rattling/clinky sound comes rather from the right side of the keyboard area. It sounds a bit like the sound that laptop makes when im putting it on a hard surface (the keyboard then rattles a bit).
I attach an mp3 - maybe it will help. It's a bit too amplified (its not that loud or strong normally) - but try to hear the sound that comes at the very end of each click.

May 30, 2012I've been using my MacBook Pro for about 9 months now (and I love it), but suddenly some keys (enter, f11, disc-eject-key) won't press down properly. It's like there's something underneath it, preventing it from going down. I could have spilled breadcrumbs or something like that on the keyboard, but only in really small amounts; I try to eat and drink as little as possible with my MacBook around, 'cause I'm always afraid of spilling something in- or onto it. how to get rid of it? The keys still work, but I just don't like it this way.

My native language is Spanish and I use the Spanish ISO layout in my computer keyboards; anyway, my new macbook has an English keyboard and, though I changed the keyboard layout to be used as a Spanish one, I did not find a way to enter the backslash. The other characters [including � and accented vowels are working properly].
Do you know what key combination must I press to enter the backslash?
OS X :: Unintentional Email Launch (Press Tab Then Enter)
May 21, 2010I have a Mac AIR Book with a French keypad (laptop purchased in France). The tab key is at the left end of the keyboard, next to the "A" key and below #,@,1,&. I unintentionally send/launch an e-mail when I (unintentionally) press the Tab key and then press Enter. This usually occurs when I don't press down squarely on the A key, thus pressing both the A and Tab keys virtually simultaneously, and then press Enter. I do not see in system preferences (keyboard) that "tab+Enter" is a shortcut, and I seek your advice on whether I can change the response of the laptop to the simultaneous pressing of those two keys. I use Yahoo mail, but I do not know if that matters.

Aug 4, 2010So I got my Core i5 2.53 GHz MacBook Pro back in April when they came out, and it has had some problems. All the the issues have been minor, but still annoying. First of all, I get the scroll wheel all of the time. Way more than a new computer should. Also, I have to press the Caps Lock key several times before it actually comes on. In addition, often times when I open iTunes, it just bounces for a long time until I have no choice but to force quit. After a few attempts it opens, but I feel like it shouldn't do this. Also, when I put headphones in the head phone jack, they don't work right away. Either they don't work at all and I have to pull them out and try again, or it takes several seconds to come on. Again, these are minor issues, but I still don't like it.

Mar 20, 2012I'm trying to automatically convert Excel files to PDFs using Automator. Although, every time the Excel file is opened, I get a message about links to other workbooks. I really don't care about these links and just want to convert the file to a PDF. I just can't get Automator to press the "Ignore links" button on the Excel message.Now I've found out that pressing the escape key on my keyboard activates the following buttons on the Excel message about the links:
- "Update links" (then there's a Finder window popping up)
- "Cancel" (the search for other workbooks) (another Finder window pops up)
- "Cancel" again
Then Excel opens up the file I need to convert, so I can actually convert it using Automator and do whatever I want with it.I have absolutely no experience using AppleScript.Is there a way to make a AppleScript that presses the escape key three times, so that Excel just opens my file?

Oct 6, 2010recently, my mouse has been having a lot of trouble holding its "click". By this I mean when I, for example, attempt to drag a file folder to folder or even drag a window around, it loses the "hold" and usually ends up dropping the file and clicking something else. Oftentimes if i right click hold it will lose the hold and select something else in the menu.Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be? I'm not certain that it is a hardware problem either, if maybe it is something to do with my iMac itself?

I have a mac key board and only Control and alt is on it, not DEL.
