Jul 5, 2010I am emailed an excel spreadsheet each day. I can receive it on my eMac, but cannot on my new iMac. I've tried deleting Office 2008 and reinstalling. No luck

Dec 9, 2009I get an error message that says the file cannot be accessed because it is a "read-only" or in a read only location. I tried both opening it from the email and saving it to my desktop and opening it. Both ways I get the same message. These are files that I believe were created on Excel for Windows.

When sending an email on my MAC, I'm trying to attach multiple excel (or word) files - let's say 10 excels in a row.So I click on "attach files", and a box opens up, showing all of the files on my MAC.On a non-MAC computer, I'd select the first file, then press "shift", and then use my down arrow to select the next 9 files. That doesn't work on my MAC.How do I attach 10 consecutive excel files when sending an email?

Jan 11, 2009I'm using MacOSX and Mac Mail. The cub scouts send a weekly newsletter via Scouttrack. When I view this on the Mac, I cannot see any attachments; it's like they are not there at all. When I view it from Outlook on a PC, it doesn't show the little paper clip, but when I open the email, then I can see that the attachments are there.
Is there any way to get the mail application on the Mac to recognize that there are attachments in the email??

Dec 9, 2014Two days ago started finding about 50-60 "Mail not delivered" emails a day in my Junk folder. Appears to be countless emails sent from me and returned undelivered back to my IP administrator and then a notice sent to me. I called them- they don't seem to know or care. These get stopped by the Junk filter at Bell support / Outlook.comSame message - different names over and over. Changed password. Computer is off. Access email on remote computer and they keep showing up. Is this coming from my computer system, my IP or some 3rd party? Here is a a typical email 13 just showed up. I have grayed out my address..

Feb 12, 2012Not sure why this is happening, but I'm not getting all emails on iPhones and iPads. I've had several emails addressed to my me.com address that show up on my iMac and MacBook, but never show up on our iPhones or iPads. This applies only to my me.com stuff. Even an iTunes marketing email doesn't show up on my iPhone. Â
I just transitioned to iCould last week and that's when it started. All devices were converted to iCloud and the iMac and MacBook are set up as IMAP accounts.Â

May 11, 2012Why are my attachments not showing up as attachments when recieved. They are sent from Mail as windows "friendly" - but never the less always show up inlaid in the mail. The recipient then have to ctrl clik on the documents, save them on the harddrive before being able to fx print.

Aug 24, 2014My mail program has stopped receiving mail from the server, Cincinnati Bell, zoomtown. I have had numerous weird sent items that come back as undeliverable to people not in my contacts. When i try to log in it tells me that my password is incorrect. I tried to check on webmail and CB is saying they have locked my account for suspicous activity and i should remove the " virus" and they will reopen my account. I thought that macs did not get viruses.Â

Apr 28, 2012When I email a number of jpegs as attachments (from newly acquired iMac) to pc users they are unable to view them as attachments.
I have removed the auto signature and also changed to Palin Text as suggested in other threads but still no joy!
I also tried a solution suggested in another thread that involved typing something into Terminal which shows works at iMac end to show jpgs as individual attachments but there is no clip when it arrives in outlook on pc just a joined up line of thumbnails.
we regularly have to send emails with several images attached - I know you will suggest using the zip folder but many businesses block these from their systems and the folders are stripped from the email.

Jan 31, 2012Just recently i sent an email (yahoo mail) attachment to my friend.She got the email but when she opened the attachment it loaded and was blank, with nothing there.I think she has a window computer, if that helps.I sent it to myself. Feb 6, 2009I am searching for a plugin, software or a solution for a situation I have with an Excel/Word Mail Merge.
It's a law firm we specialize in DUI/DWI and Reckless Driving defense. We subscribe to a data collection service that pulls data from various court systems around the state. We are then given this data by jurisdiction. The Excel files we receive come with 2 workbooks in one file for Traffic and Criminal arrests data with name, address, reason for arrest, etc, etc.
What I have been doing is opening each Excel file and copying and pasting into a new worksheet only grabbing the DUI and Reckless driving arrests because tis is all I am needing from the various files. I then save the new workbook and do a mail merge with Word from this newly created workbook.
Now my question is there such a plugin or software that will combine all the Excel files I receive from the Data collection house and then be able to filter out only the DUI and Reckless Driving arrests to a single Excel Workbook?

I am really struggling with the weather part!! I need to somehow pull the temp and if its snowing or raining from the internet into excel. I have all the addresses and zip codes for each property. I was thinking i could write a formula that looks at an RSS feed or website (like yahoo or Google weather) based on the zip code of the address. I could also write the formula that pulls the weather to excel then VLOOKUP the zip. Does anyone have any ideas about this?? I am not sure what to do!!

They had assured me of compatibility at purchase citing the new open format. The MAC Excel 08 file won't open on the MAC on which is was created with their Numbers program either.

Nov 30, 2014I'm trying to turn on the excel functionality where I can see shortcuts when I hover over a button e.g. the bold button i would expect to see something like this "bold cmd+B". I have tried searching communities but I could find the answer. I found the answer for windows but not for mac. Below you can see a screen print to illustrate the issue. Excel only shows "bold" when I hover over the bold button and not "bold cmd+b". Im using excel 2011.Â
