OS X V10.7 Lion :: Unable To Send An Email From An Application Such As Filemaker, Acrobat, MS Word, Etc

Jun 25, 2012

I have noticed that the ability to send an email from outside Mail via one of the several applications that has the capability has disappeared.  Whenever I try to send a message I get an error message from the app.  For example in Filemaker I get "Some of the files that are needed are either damaged or have not been installed. run the installer to correct this problem."  In Acrobat I get "The SendMail doesn't know how to talk to your default mail client.  select a different mail application to use."  In MS Word the menu selection is dimmed out.  From Pages however it works fine.

OS X Mavericks :: Can't Open Microsoft Word Documents

Jun 5, 2014

I downloaded Maverick OS X 10.9.3 and now I can't open my Microsoft Word documents! The message I receive when trying to open a document read:  You can't open the application "Microsoft Word" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.

I wish I knew this before I upgraded to Maverick.  It happened to my iphotos as well but after purchasing new software for iphoto, I have been able to retrieve my photos.

OS X Mavericks :: Tags Via Cloud On Word Documents Not Visible

Jun 30, 2014

I am a Mac user under the latest software.

We are using via the google cloud word documents that we can share with PC users.

I marked on my mac in the cloud the tags to different documents. I see them visible next to the file once in a time in the color that i used. If i look under icon tags on my toolbar i see the color label active.

All my other users work on windows, and they do not see my tags. Is there a way we can make that happens for everybody and that the tags stays next to the document file.

MobileMe :: Any Way To Move Contents Of IDisk Directly To Documents In Cloud?

May 29, 2012

Losing iDisk really stinks. What, exactly, are we paying for with the "cloud"? The iDisk was the only thing I really used except for e-mail, which is available free. Anyway, enough griping. Is there a way to move the contents of iDisk directly to the "documents in the cloud" feature?

Software :: Send Address Book Names Directly To Bcc?

Jun 24, 2008

In Panther, I was able to click on names in AddressBook and they would go to "To:, Cc:, or Bcc" whichever I had previously selected. In Tiger, they all go to "To:" no matter which one I select. This is a step backward in Tiger. Not being able to drag and drop into the Subject line is another step backward.

Of course, I can drag the names from "To:" to "Bcc:", but I have forgotten at times and ended up having all those names sent to my recipients.
Is there a way to send Address Book names directly to Bcc? How does Leopard handle this?

OS X :: Word Documents Between Mac And PC?

Oct 19, 2009

Im going to be purchasing a 13" Macbook Pro but coming from using a PC my whole life I have a few questions:

Firstly would you recommend iWork or Office? And can iWork read and edit work documents?

Secondly, If I am creating a Word document on my Mac and then send it to someone that is using Office on a PC will the formatting etc be the same? Im thinking of the scenario if I am filling out a job application form and then send it to the employer I don't want the formatting to be messed up since that would preclude me from getting an interview most likely. Also, are there any other compatibility issues I should be aware of with sending things between Mac and PC? I know if these will be problematic I can always install Windows 7 via Bootcamp, but id rather they were do-able on OSX.

MacBook Pro :: Can't Access Any Of My Word Documents

Mar 15, 2012

I just upgraded my laptop to Lion. Now I can't access any of my Word Documents. I 'got' around that by opening them up in 'pages'. HOWEVER, I can't access my emergency records organizer (where I keep all my bank account info, IDs and passwords, etc.) Is there a new application in Lion that allows me to to store this data? I'm not real happy with Lion right now, because half of my life/documennts were Word documents that can no longer be opened-unless I want to open EVERY last one of no fewer than 1,000 Word docs in 'pages.' Not only did I pay to upgrade to Lion, but I'll have to pay for another version of Word. Macintosh is on my___list right now.
