Jun 4, 2009I am trying to send a group email. When I go to send the email I do not want it to real "undisclosed recipients" I would like when it shows up in their box it reads as the group email name I give it. I receive emails occasionally where people send group emails and it reads the group name they gave it not "undisclosed recipients" How do I accomplish this?

May 7, 2012In previous OS Mail I could bounce rubbish straight back to originator,and in most cases it stopped completely, but Lion has nothing! It is emasculated!Junk mail is limited and does not apply the filters I set to divert such email to 'Trash', the soft option Apple has settled for. Why has Apple removed Bounce feature since people like myself are plagued with 10 to 20 rubbish mails every day for 'Undisclosed Recepients'?

OS X Mavericks :: Dictation Feature Is Not Working
Aug 24, 2014I have Mavericks 10.9.4 I'm trying to use the Dictation feature for the first time and I cannot get it to work. First of all, I downloaded the Enhanced Diction, ~750MB. Diction is 'on' and the enhanced dictation is enabled. When checking the internal microphone for operability, I tried 'automatic and internal microphone'. It shows good activity when speaking.
Once I am in a field where I can add text, I will double click the FN key. I hear a 'one beep' sound, not the normal siri sound, and the microphone DOES NOT show up as it does on my other MAC. However, when I started the computer in safe mode (yea, I know the microphone is disabled), the microphone shows up in the text field. So this means, something is disabling my microphone in normal boot-up.

OS X Mavericks :: Using Restore Feature Reinstall?
Sep 10, 2014My iMac (2009 version) OS 10.9.4 runs sloooow to start and load. It takes about 5 minutes before I can use my IMac. I have used DiskWarrior, TechToolPro, and ran DiskUtilities repair permissions and disk a zillion times with no difference. I wanted to try "Restore" feature by starting up with Option key held down. I do not use TimeMachine. I used DiskUtilites to repair permissions and disc with no difference. I note that there is a choice to reinstall new copy of OS X. Will that result in wiping out all my third party applications?

Dec 25, 2009I have had Snow Leopard for a while now but recently I realised that there was one feature I didn't seem to have....and that is put away. It just does not show in the right click menu on any of my items in my trash. Option clicking the file also does not show this menu.

Sep 8, 2014My mother just got an iMac 27". It is running at 2560x1440. However, at this resolution even on the big monitor the menu bars are quite as is the font on the menus. In windows which she used to use and which I use, there's a "Large Fonts" feature which increases the size of the font on menu bars, and the button on the window manager.Â
However, I can't seem to find this feature on the mac. I increased the cursor size. I increased the default size of window content in safari etc. And can incr. the size of the dock. But no where can I find a "large font" feature. I can drop the resolution, but this is obviously a bad solution as this just makes everything fuzzy and ugly. Is there any way to preserve resolution and incr. menubar sizes/font sizes? The zoom feature is does not have acceptable behavior to conveniently incr. menu size (most of the time it zooms the menus right out of the frame, and the PIP mode is also poor) Â
OS X Mavericks :: Search Feature On Preview Disabled After Annotating
Jun 20, 2014Running Preview 7.0, upon opening a PDF I am able to perfectly use the built-in search feature to search text made readable by OCR. After adding a text-box/annotating within the document, however, the search feature is messed up: the document will return matching hits for my term, but they aren't highlighted within the document body and I get the "funk" alert noise when clicking on results in left-hand results column. Â
Attempted fix: Printed the document as PDF. Searching this document only will return results if text that I search was typed in one of the text boxes I added. Â

OS X :: Edit Mail's Previous Recipients List?
Oct 12, 2009So my dad is finally switching from his beloved gmail.com web app to Mail. There is just one problem. A bunch of his contacts that he normally emails are already in Address Book. However, Gmail has a list of about 300 people that he has emailed in the past. He probably still emails about 100 of them from time to time.. I noticed Mail.app has a "Previous Recipients" list, and you can delete entries from the list or add them to address book. Is there anyway I can manually add some of the email addresses from his Gmail account into that list? In Snow Leopard, the file seems to be located in ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book/MailRecents-v4.abcdmr
I know I can just export all the contacts and put them into Address Book, but he uses his address book's all contacts field on his iPhone, and I don't want to clutter that with those email addresses. Unless there is a way of making an entry that appears in a specific address book group, but not in all contacts.

Jun 10, 2012We have had a software problem with my wife's mac. I set her up as a user on my iMac, then we wiped her machine and reconstructed. Here is the problem. On her laptop now, there are no previous recipients in Mail. As it turns out, she really needs these. They are on the iMac. I need to move that list from the iMac to her laptop.
I have looked in Library/application support, but can find no entry for Mail or Address book. I know that there must be a file somewhere with this data.

OS X :: Create Address Book Group From Email Recipients?
Nov 10, 2009I'm in college and get a lot of emails from a lot of different groups and I often have reason to save them as a group in address book, but I usually stop once I realize that I need to add each of the people to my address book one by one, and then add them all to a group as I go.
Is there a way to streamline this? In an ideal world I would like to be able to create a new group in address book and just copy/click and drag all the address from the email to the group. But, like I said before the biggest issue right now is having to add each person to address book one at a time, simplifying that process alone would be a huge help. Any suggestions, is what I'm thinking of even possible?

Aug 17, 2010I saved an email in Drafts a few days ago, and just sent it out recently. However, there was a problem during the sending. Several copies of the same email were sent to the recipient. After restarting my computer and the application a message keeps popping up stating: Some actions taken while the account "my acct name" was offline could not be completed online. Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox "On My Mac" in "On My Mac" so that you can complete the actions while online.
Additional information: The connection to the server "imap.gmail.com" on port 993 timed out.
or The IMAP command "APPEND" (to Drafts) failed with server error: Could not parse command. Along with this message the same email shows up in my Drafts folders. I've deleted many copies of them, but they keep coming back the same way. I'd also like to mention that that particular email account is not getting mail for me, but the app is getting mail for my other emails. All accounts are online. I'm not sure what to do.

I know I can add the Previous Recipients to my Address Book, but I'd really love to get them into a text file the way it's listed, specifically in this case because of the Last Used date column. I found one post on the Apple forums with a way to do it via Terminal, but the steps weren't clear and I wasn't able to do it (I'm a complete dummy when it comes to Terminal and scripts and the like ).

Mar 1, 2012I tried to send an email to almost 300 recipients through Mail. For whatever reason (not important to me for these purposes) the message cannot send on the server it attempted to use. The message itself remains on my desktop, with a dropdown error message over it. Here's the problem: due to the number of recipients, the dropdown menu goes beyond the lower end of the monitor.
When I view the message in Mission Control I can see that there are options at the bottom of the error message like Edit Message, Try Later, and Try Selected Server, but I cannot click on any of those to try any of them. Also, Tab seems to have no effect on what button is highlighted, and Try Selected Server remains the active choice. If I press return it will try the same server that did not work and then the message remains. I have also tried going into the Outbox and deleting the message but that doesn't work either.

May 12, 2012Previously, I have had no troble removing obsolete enteries from Previous Recipients in Mail.Of, course I also remove these enteries from my Address Book. Now, when I hit the "Remove From List" button, the entry disappears, but it reappears the next time I check the Previous Recipients List. I simply cannot get rid of obosete entries.

May 26, 2012I noticed that when I send an email to a pc user, my standard typeface (Verdana)Â in rtf mode, it comes back as Times New roman in the reply. I used to work with Entourage and Outlook where I never had that problem. How can I fix this?

Sep 11, 2014I got the newest 15" MBP and I'm trying to get power nap to work, but as far as I can tell, it does not work yet.Â
I enabled power nap both when the laptop is connected to power and on battery, but every morning when I look in iTunes, my podcasts have not been updated since last time i closed the lid.Â
I also tried to start downloading a podcast and close the lid, and when I open it again, the podcast has not progressed in the downloading.Â

The map application does not display any maps - only a grid. It doesn't work with Iphoto either. Thought I'd try to re-install the map application but can't find it in the app store.
*One curious thing (I can't imagine this has anything to do with it but....) the app store does not seem to recognize I have upgraded to OSX 10.9.4. I know I'm running this version as this is what shows when I click on "About This Mac" yet the app store won't reflect it. The download button is always ready and waiting for me to click it
