Jun 16, 2009like many others I've been using FireFox the past year, but now I want to migrate back to Safari 4. With all my bookmarks that are now in Firefox, of course! Safari 4 has got an import feature. But what kind of file does it want? In any case I haven't a clue how to export my bookmarks from FireFox into any particular file. Do you?
The only thing I could think of to do was go into FF's Bookmarks edit mode and copy/paste the bookmarks menu into an .rtf and an .html file. But that bombed: Safari 4's import wanted neither.

Software :: Importing OSX Opera Bookmarks To WinXP?
Feb 16, 2009So I backed up my Opera Bookmarks rigorously in case the Mac died. Well it died. And since I'm using a WinXP machine for the time being I'd like to bring those bookmarks over to the PC. The problem is they are in a .hqx format and I don't know how to extrat it. I tried WinRAR and 7zip without success. Of course I realize now I should have saved them as a HTML file... Then I think I could have brought them over with no issues. Please confirm if possible. And if you have any ideas (both my Macs are dead for the time being) on the bookmark thing, please let me know. All the other files are ok - text files have some glitches but most are fine. The ones with glitches have to be resaved in RTF format. If course the least important (.avi) play perfectly!

Mar 18, 2012All my bookmarks in the bookmarks bar. I want to move them all so they are just in bookmarks menu dont want anything in bookmarks bar. I have edited renamed moved the bookmarks from bookmarks bar without a problem until I quite safari. Once I reopen safari all changes I made disappear and it reverts back to original with all bookmarks on bookmarks bar. what am I doing wrong that i cannot make permanent changes to my bookmark bar on Safari 5.1.3?

Jun 7, 2012After my recovery drive went missing and trying to reinstall it, had to do a format of my hard drive and reinstall everything once I got OS X reinstalled and up-to-date, I tried to import my bookmarks from a backup bookmarks file, when I quit safari and re-open safari bookmarks were missing and default ones back in place. When searching though the forums for how to fix this problem but too know unluck they did not work.
