OS X :: How To Stream Media With EyeConnect To PS3?

Dec 10, 2009

I'm trying to make this a reality, but although Eyeconnect is switched on in the system preferences the PS3 does not appear with any Eyeconnect media server. Is there anything I can try for this? Maybe a plug in?

Hardware :: Possible To Stream Media From Time Capsule To Xbox 360

Oct 24, 2008

I've an xbox 360 and have my external HD connected directly via it's usb port for playing movies on the TV. I'm thinking about getting a time capsule and I'd probably attach my HD to it's usb port. What I'd like to know - Is it possible to stream media from time capsule directly to xbox360 yet. Does the Time Capsule support uPnP. Do people on here think that Apple will support uPnP on the time capsule any time soon?

Applications :: Can I Stream Divx Files With VLC Media Player?

Jan 31, 2010

I was wondering if it is possible to use VLC media player or video LAN to stream divx videos off the internet. I like to watch divx videos on stagevu but i dont like to use divxs player because it seems buggy. I have downloaded VLC before I had the divx player and couldnt figure out how to get it to play streamed videos. Is VLC capable of this or is it just for media on the hard drive or a disc.

ITunes :: Media Folder Location Moved - Deleted All Media?

Apr 24, 2012

I recently changed the iTunes Media Folder default location to a different area on my drive. I waited a couple minutes and the files did not move. I was unaware you had to go into your settings and also select to consolodate files. Since the files didn't move I reselected my default location and kept trying to go back and forth a couple times. After letting it sit for a couple more minutes I noticed over 200 GB's of files were missing. I looked in each folder I tried to change the default Media Folder location to but they were not in either of them. I have also ran multiple system file recover programs and been unable to find them.

ITunes :: New Music Added To Media Not Media/Music?

Apr 1, 2012

I've been doing some reorganizing lately, including updating my file structure from My Music to My Media, with Music, Books etc within it.  I did this using the built-in iTunes option (File->Library->Organize Library->Reorganize files in the folder "iTunes Media"). I have both "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library" switched on.

When I performed this reorganization I noticed that the media folder was still called "My Music", not "My Media", though the directories within for Music, Books etc were all there and organized correctly.  So I renamed the folder to "My Media" and updated this name in the Advanced Preferences by changing "iTunes Media folder location."

When I now add new items to the library I find they are being added to the directory My Media, and not to the media-specific subdirectory (Music or Books or whatever) even though the entries within iTunes itself appear in the appropriate media subsection.

OS X :: Stream Videos From Mac To TV?

Sep 29, 2010

First of all, my (stand-alone) DVD player has recently broken so I'm currently having to watch DVDs either on my MBP or hooking up an old Powerbook to my TV and connecting it via VGA cables (old TV that doesn't have HDMI). I will buy a new TV when budget permits but wondered if there is anything else I can buy as an alternative.

AppleTV looks OK but I only watch a few movies from iTunes. I still hire DVDs, movies for the kids mostly, and also watch TV using the Slingbox application. Neither of these will work through AppleTV.

So is there anything that I can connect to a TV and stream everything, the whole display rather than a single application like iTunes, from my Mac? I just need something that will replace long cables stretching across the living room.

OS X :: Can Stream Through My Xbox 360 But Cannot On MBP?

May 26, 2010

When I stream through my Xbox 360 it works perfectly fine, the buffering prevents any jitteriness or stuttering. However when I try and stream on my MBP it gets jittery after about the first 3-4 minutes. For the first few minutes it is fine.

Anyone else have problems streaming from Netflix?

MacBook Air :: HD Stream Low Quality On 1.6 Than 1.8 Rev B?

Jan 11, 2009

I just went to a Apple store and tried a HD episode of CSI Miami on both a 1.6 HDD and 1.8 SSD.

After a while I realized the graphics was more blocky on 1.6 than the 1.8. No matter what I checked and stopped I could not change it. No other program was running, I let ot rest etc but still it had more choippy graphics.

And yes, I made sure it was rev B not rev A...

Btw, they both had 'the lines'.

If graphics is determined by the graphic card and they both have the same how come the video was not the same quality? Is it really the .26 GHz that made the difference???

I was almost ready to go for a 1.6 HDD but now I have to reconsider.

OS X :: Xbox360 Stream Off AirDisk

May 13, 2009

hows it going. Im new here but ive been a Mac Geek for 12 yrs. Anyways ive got a question that started out as a curiosity but now i "need' to know...lol!

Basically ive been using Connect360 to stream music to my XBOX and the occasional movie. I will soon be swapping out my iMac G5's HDD (250GB) for a WD (750GB.) Ive decided to buy an enclosure for the "old" HDD and connect it to an ABEX as an Airdisk. Connect360 is great but having my iMacs fans going and the "jet engines" they call fans on the xbox, can get pretty annoying after a while.

So essentially what i want to do is stream off the Airdisk but have the iMac off. Is there anyway i can make this happen?

OS X :: Using ISight To Stream Video?

I am not a huge fan of reality TV, but recently tuned in to an episode of Gene Simmons Family Values only to she Gene's daughter log on to a computer to view a streaming video from her Apple Notebook to see who was taking items from their kitchen.

I would love to be able to set up my Apple to view what in the world my bird, a large Macaw, is doing throughout the day to get nuts and seed some 10 feet or so from her cage. She is a great bird and doesnt scream or bite, but she is a trip and loves to joke around.

Applications :: Cannot Get Netflix To Stream HD On MBP

Jun 9, 2010

I have a MBP unibody and I can't get netflix to stream HD on my computer. If I can get it to work, I'm going to buy the cables to hook my MBP to my HDTV. According to the Netflix website, to stream HD on your mac, you need a screen resolution of 800 x 600 or higher and high speed internet connection (they say 5mbps and I have 16mbps). Also, my silverlight is up to date. But whenever I try to watch an instant movie that is HD capable, it does not play it in HD. I was wondering if you guys who use netflix can tell me if you've been able to stream in HD on your mac?
