View 1 RepliesAfter initial problems loading the driver of the CD I was advised the do a software update on my iMac and to download the latest driver from the Epson site in the U.S. Having done all of that and successfully loaded the software the iMac still cannot find the printer driver when trying to add a printer.Â
I have previously loaded everything and have printed via usb but have not been unable to print wirelessly. Has anyone any clue as to what I might try?
Quick Time used to work fine, but now when I click on Watch Trailer in Apple Trailers, the link opens ok, but when Quick Time opens, it gives an error that says "A necessary data reference could not be resolved". When I click on Ok, the window closes.
Any ideas what to do? I did recently upgrade my hdd and used Time Machine to restore my data/programs.

I am hoping someone out there would be willing to assist me by getting a dump of their system SMC keys so I can do a comparison against my system. Ideally it needs to be done on a 2008 Alu 20in iMac with SMC version 1.29f1
You need to have SMCFanControl on your system and know where the smcFanControl.app is located.
Open Terminal
cd to the directory that has the smcFanControl.app
cd smcFanControl.app/Contents/Resources
type ./smc -l
select and copy the output and save/post
exit terminal
Some of my beautiful photos have been deleted. So I asked the quetsion on Yahoo Answer. Someone recommend me to use Nice to Recover Data for Mac. Can it help me to recover my favourite pictures?

I want the most secure and most protected so I do not have any chance for me to loose my information. I hear good things about g tech, what are your experiences? Should I go with a RAID, will it work with IMAC? I did tons of research and found nothing but conflicting info about each brand. My eyes are bleeding now.

I have a EMac with Mac OS X vs 10.3.9 Prior user erased hard drive. Took to ADR data recovery and they scanned the hard drive and were unable to recover any data. Looking for input on other techniques to recover data from hard drive or other companies that specialize in Mac data recovery.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have lost all my data from my harts drive. The laptop is under warranty. I have been told that they have replaced my hard drive but could not get any data off the old one. I have now lost all my data, photos, files, music etc. NO backups, only simply because i did not know how to do them. Is there any way of getting the files back? All my work spreadsheets and accounts were also lost.

So, I'm trying to recover some lost files. I put it on Data recovery 3. Everything went fine until the power in my house went out, stopping the entire process. NOW when I try to run the process, it just stalls at 33,3%, with no indication of how much time left...
Need some help here. My friend is a DJ and had an external drive with tens of thousands of songs on it. The plug broke on it and I think that corrupted it since Eject was not used. I pulled the 3.5in HDD out of the case and hooked up up with some other external plugs I have.
When I run Data Rescue 3 on it, it shows that it sees almost all of these and the only two formats it counts up are mpeg and mp3s. Data Rescue then finishes the scan and has a bunch of crap files that are not needed, but none of the songs show up. What is going on here? Did I miss something in Data Rescue 3.
The drive is a 1TB drive and the backup drive we are using is 640GB, but there was only about 250GB of music on the drive to begin with.
Yesterday, I had to re-format my external hard drive so that it could be "recordable" within Pro Tools, which wasn't a major issue, I just had to move everything from my Lacie drive to another drive, do the format, and then throw it all back on. It took a little while but this also included moving my nearly 60gb itunes library. Now that it is on the newly formatted hard drive, itunes doesn't seem to be able to find the majority of the songs any more. I've tried changing the music folder and a few other things, and there is no way I'm going through and doing the "cant find music - click here to find it" palava. Is anyone aware of a way that you can "mass find" all of the music in any way other than starting the library again and adding all the music (I don't really want to lose all of my play counts and ratings if possible!)

is it possible to download software for a mac from a pc onto a usb drive then install onto mac?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a mac powerbook afew weeks ago and have been downloading different applications for it on a PC. I have tried puting these files on cd's, dvd's, and external harddrives, with no luck getting them to install when put onto my mac.
I have followed tutorials for mounting disc images on macs with no apparent results.
The files are Dmg and I'm only familiar with mounting ISO's on pc's and am not even sure if there is a difference.
I have been using magic iso and magic disc to mount and burn the disc's on my pc. Am I missing a step or is this application no good for creating discwith mac's?
Do I need to convert the DMG's to iso's?
I am a totally new Mac user and am struggling with the concept of these .dmg files that are downloaded to my desktop when i install a new application (example firefox) and then when i try to delete this file after the installation completes it appears the program requires this to run?
What do you typically do with the files after installaion? Is there a default setting someplace that tells the OS to dump and store these some place else in my HDD?
I also dont understand the icon that then gets placed on my desktop of the (in this example) firefox application... it looks like a new drive but its actually how i start the application? is it the equivalent of a link in windows or is that the .exe and my default file save settings are screwy?
well i used to listen to my music on a site called projectplaylist.com it was great. this christmas i got a macbook and new ipod! so after buying some songs for my itunes, i had an idea. i decided to head over to projectplaylist.com before you put the song you searched for in your playlist, you can view the url. so when i put the url that ended with.mp3 into a new tab. it automatically started downloading and went straight to my itunes, and now the song is there working perfect. This is working great, but is doing this harmful to my mac? it was my only solution to the illegal and unsafe limewire.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I download and burn mac applications on a pc CD with win2k will a new MBP be able to read the disk and use the application installers without a hitch? From what I remember, dont PCs add an extra bit or something that corrupts the file somewhat? I also have an old Mac with OS9 on it, should I just download the apps on there and burn them with it instead? I need to make sure I have these apps available the day the MBP arrives, so I wanted to know the best way to go about it. All I have is an old Pismo with OS9, and an old pc with win2k
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I download the latest version of Safari from Apple's website and try to install it, I get a message telling me that I cannot install to my hard drive because I don't have some sort of security update.
It gives me numbers like the x.x.x version but when I search for it in Apple's website it gives me a few different versions for the update for both Tiger and Leopard.
Is this normal? If so, anyone have a link to the correct security update?

I had to reinstall today (long story) and it seems like quicksilver's site is down. I'm not sure if I'll make it through the night without QS (semi-serious). Does anyone know what's going on? Or anywhere I can download the most up to date beta?
