I have a new MacBook Pro 13'. I already configured Icloud and I can find on maps devices sucha as Ipads, Iphones and Mac´s, but something is happened with my own MacBook Pro, I cant locate it on the Maps, I only see the image of the MacBook Pro and the instruction for locked it or send a message. I did all troubleshooting explained on support web page (location activevated on security, etc) and the problem still remains.Â

Yesterday, I had to re-format my external hard drive so that it could be "recordable" within Pro Tools, which wasn't a major issue, I just had to move everything from my Lacie drive to another drive, do the format, and then throw it all back on. It took a little while but this also included moving my nearly 60gb itunes library. Now that it is on the newly formatted hard drive, itunes doesn't seem to be able to find the majority of the songs any more. I've tried changing the music folder and a few other things, and there is no way I'm going through and doing the "cant find music - click here to find it" palava. Is anyone aware of a way that you can "mass find" all of the music in any way other than starting the library again and adding all the music (I don't really want to lose all of my play counts and ratings if possible!)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got the clear moshi clear guard keyboard cover, it seemed to be one of the best ones out there, however I just read in a thread, that they can block venting & cause it to run hotter. Is this true? where does the mac vent out heat? I thought a keyboard cover was a good idea, to protect from spills etc.
View 24 Replies View RelatedSince a large ant walked into the vents on the back of my MBP three days ago causing repeated rattling noises coming from the interior for several hours (like the ant had gotten half-stuck in one of the fans or the hard drive), I've got super-scared/anal about stuff getting into the laptop. I still don't know for sure whether the ant caused any lasting damage and whether he/she's still in there.
So I have a general question: what could have been damaged by this animal or what could be damaged by future invaders or the occasional food crumb falling into the keyboard and/or speaker holes? Secondly, what can I do to clean the laptop? Is it safe to hold a vacuum cleaner to the air vents, keyboard, speakers, or is there a danger of destroying something (like the speaker membrane) due to the suction?
My Mac continually gets the "no location available" indicator. Why?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI accidentally dropped my "Applications Folder" off my Dock when I first got my Mac and it disappeared. When I put it back by dragging the applications folder onto the Dock, instead of assuming the Applications Folder logo, it took on the logo of the first application in my Applications Folder: the Address book. Now, my desktop permanantly has the picture of the Address Book instead of the picture of the Applications Folder.
How do I fix this? ive followed other thread advice with no luck. Is there a way to re-set the Dock? Where does the logo live and how do I get it back there?
What happened: I was working late one night on a Keynote presentation. My battery ran out, and the computer did that hibernation thing it does when there's no battery power. I got my charger, connected it to my computer, and then pushed the power button. It started up for a second in to the gray screen it usually goes to. Then I turned around, tugging the magsafe charger out of the connector on the computer. This caused my computer to shut down again. Now I can't get it to boot at all.I've tried pretty much everything to deal with this. Multiple forced reboots, resetting PRAM and NVRAM, etc. I booted to original OSX disc and ran disc utility, but I discovered that there is *no disc to boot to*.

We have a macbook and a mac mini. I just replaced the stock macbook hdd with a 500gb WD drive no problem. Also, I have a time machine backup on an external hdd ready. The problem is I cannot find my OS X dvd anywhere. However, I did find my OSX DVD for my mac mini. Still, when I turn on the macbook all I see is a folder blinking with a question mark in it. Doesn't seem to work, but I have almost zero mac savvy. How can I get my OS installed tonight?

ver. 10.7.3: 2.4 GHz core 2 Duo with 4 GB of DRAM. I have three questions:Â 1. Where can I find the manual for my machine i.e. hardware manual and or consumer/connaisseur manual? 2. Does it have a zip media drive? I'm looking at the left side of the machine and I see small square shaped slot for a disk of this sort. I know this is a common type of media storage for cameras and would like to confirm that it is zip. 3. And while i'm at it, could you remind me of the uses of the two ports advancing towards the back of the computer next to the USB inputs.
