View 8 RepliesRight now I am able to view my Wiki data only through [URL] when I try [URL] I get a 404 Not Found. One thing that I think is interesting is that [URL] and [URL] both give me the "Welcome to Lion Server" page. I enabled the Wiki service and the Web service both through the Server application. My first thought was that I needed to configure a "Web Site" under the Web service to point to the proper directory location (such as in Snow Leopard Server). I've tried several different directories for the "Store Site Files In" field, such as "/Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default" and "/usr/share/collabd/coreclient/public" to no avail. The Lion Server documentation shows how to migrate wikis, but I didn't see anything about configuring the service (either in the Wiki service or the Web service).Â

I have tried to do this via "get info" on the containing folder, via the server tools and via disk utility, but I have still not managed to correct the problem.

With Lion Server Apple killed the FTP Service & GUI to configure the FTP. In the NET I found plenty of description how to enable to ftp, but I found nothing how to configure the sharepoint and ftpusers with the command line. Is their any instructions around. We need to use ftp for some industrial machines we do not offer SFTP. We tried also the Rumpus FTP Server but this isn't stable enough.

I have a brand new Mac OS X Lion server. How do I go about setting up my Lion server to download updates for my other workstations (about 30). These workstations are mixed with Macbook Pros using 10.6 as well as some using 10.7, iMac's using 10.6 and 10.7 and Mac Pros using 10.7. What do I need to do on the client side as well so that they can download from my OS X server. I have created a DNS entry for my OS X server in my DNS as well as a static IP.

My new Xserve started up and I was able to configure it remotely via Server Setup Utility then after I input all of the settings it hung on finishing the setup for about an hour. I then restarted the Server and now I cannot see it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm sure we've all seen the weird IMAP glitch where mail subfolders appear down lower on the mail.app pane instead of nested neatly under the mailbox itself. Usually you can get around this by changing the Inbox IMAP prefix to "" or "INBOX" or "/" or some such path that the server recognizes as the root path to your IMAP folder. Unfortunately, this sometimes means you are unable to work with those folders or introduce other problems.Since I am running Lion (Client) and Lion Server as my mail host, I would think that there is an appropriate answer to this either on the mail.app client settings, or perhaps with a Lion Server configuration through DOVECOT. I don't mind if the solution is a command-line one, but I need to be able to easily set up my mailboxes so that mail subfolders appear properly under each mailbox, instead of being hidden away lower on the page where it is very inconvenient to find, especially when you are using multiple email accounts.

I have an HP EX490 Mediasmart Server that I'm trying to get Remote Access to work with my Airport Extreme (N/Giga version). Unfortunately HP doesn't recommend the Airport Extreme for Remote Access use since it doesn't support UPnP. I followed one guy's steps to manually configure the port forwarding to get Remote Access to work, based upon comments it works for some and doesn't work for others. I've provided screenshots that match his instructions, and I was wondering if anyone has had luck and are there extra steps since I have the latest firmware on my Airport Extreme? I really don't feel like buying another wireless router if possible, but if I need to, any recommendations that has a USB port so I can print wireless with my current printer?

I have Mac OSX 10,5,8 Leopard, and I had my computer working with the printer. One day it stopped printing and I tried to reinstall it, the result is that no longer works. It is connected to the home network through a router and certainly it is not a printer problem as my son can print wirelessly with his laptop. Mpreover, i tried to install it again and while my Mac allows me to load the printer driver from the disk or the web, once I go to the "printers and faxes" menu and click + to add a new printer, It does not appear in "My printers" menu or in the "By default" menu.

How do you configure Leopard so it automatically hides all file extensions? I've gone to Finder/Preference/Advanced and unchecked the 'show all file extensions' option, but it does nothing. To remove the file extensions, I literally have to go into each individual file. There has to be some way around this, but I'm new to OS X. As far as I can tell, extensions are showing for most (if not all) file types (e.g. avi, pdf, rtf, doc, docx, etc.).

I'm currently using 3 other Macs on the WiFi network all running Snow Leopard, so I know that network works. I tried renewing the dhcp lease and I have it set to using dhcp and to configure ipv6 automatically, and there are 2 ip addresses under dns servers (I typed these in because they showed on my other MBP). I can't even upgrade the MBP because I have no ethernet cable and can't plug it in to update it. I can do to get it to work?Â
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a MacPro3,1. It currently runs 10.5.7, and I use it for development. I bought Snow Leopard on Friday, and I'm worried about installing it. I have a flashed Sapphire 4870 card running in addition to my 2600 XT (stock.) I made the BIOS with which I flashed the card using a python script I found on MacRumors.
I know the card works pretty well in 10.5.7. I have Dual-DVI, rotation support, and Quartz Extreme working. Sleep does not work (crashes the machine) but I'm pretty okay with that; I seldom sleep the Mac anyways.
I understand that to get everything working in Snow Leopard, I have to add the device ID to a .kext file that is installed with Snow Leopard.
I've found the device ID in System Profiler on this line:
Device ID:0x9440
Is this the right line to look for a device ID? Should I be looking somewhere else?
Also, on [URL], netkas says "just need to add dev-id into ATI4800Controller.kext." for my kind of card. How do I add the device ID to the kext? I think it goes somewhere in info.plist, but I'm not sure...
Will I still have Dual-DVI? It's very critical that I have it working, so I'd like to make sure before installing the new OS.
I'm faced with the daunting task of migrating from Panther Server to Leopard Server. The present server is the Primary DNS serving several web sites (some of which is running MySQL databases). I have the luxury that we've bought 2 new Xserves last year, but due to time constraints, I haven't time until now to seriously consider the steps to this daunting task. We're also currently using a linux box for the firewall (it does no routing, just iptables rules). I want to migrate away from this also and utilize either Apple's firewall or a router. Is there anything out there on the web that will help me in this process? I'm terrified of messing up the production environment, especially since the Xserve is our DNS.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCan anyone tell me how to correctly configure Apple Mail (Leopard) with Gmail IMAP so that you dont have to keep a duplicate of all emails from the All Mail folder on my local drive? Basically, when Mail syncs, it downloads all messages, then it downloads them again because they reside in the All Mail folder in Gmails web interface. Any suggestions would be appreciated as this takes up twice the amount of space that it should.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI run 10.6.8 server in a VM with Parallels Server for Mac. Lithium pinged me early Monday morning to tell me that my calendar server wasn't reachable. I found it had kernel panicked. After resetting it and verifying the directory structure and permissions, it booted fine. But availability or free/busy wasn't working for all users! The events were all there. Invites could be sent and received but when a user checks for availability when creating events. they see the daily work hours grayed out but not anything corresponding to a scheduling conflict. Â
Things I have Tried:
- bounced ical server
- Rebooted the server
- checked the owners and permissions for the data store hierarchy. (_calendar:_calendar 750)
- checked for xattrs on .ics files in several calendars
- deleted .db.sqlite for several users in several dir in their calendar stores
- in the past I have found that some iTIP invitations seem to get "stuck' causing problems with an individual users free/busy and deleting the inbox resolves this so I deleted several inboxes
-I moved a copy of the data store to a test server and pointed several clients at it.Â
The issue persisted in all of these cases without any change in behavior with one exception; somewhere (i lost track of where) during this process users also lost their delegation preferences. I'd love to find out how and where that is stored so that it can be restored in the future. It seems pretty fragile...Â
I found one way to restore the functionality; copying a users __uid__/<GUID>/calendar out. . Moving all the folders under <GUID> out of the way and dropping the .ics files into ical with their account configured in that instance. Although this worked for selected users, I have many, many users and calendars so this solution would be suboptimal. Â

The lost configs are everytime the same: VPN (complete) and iChat (a secondary but very important Host-Domain). Of course a can restore them from a backup but that shouldn't the standard procedure after a restart....Â
