Oct 25, 2009Some how I changed this in my Home Folder. How can I change it back. I looked in the Library Folder for icons but couldn't find anything.

OS X :: Restore Hard Disk Icon On Desktop?
May 1, 2010somehow the HD icon on the desktop got removed by a prev owner. When you go to Preferences > General > Show HD icon - that does not restore the icon. OS X 10.4.11 Any ideas how we can get this icon back to the desktop?

Apr 4, 2010I am new to this site, and I'm not very computer savvy as this is my first mac. Today I noticed a folder/icon at the bottom of my desktop that had the "@" symbol on it, and the letters "http" below it. My concern is, I don't know how it got there. When I clicked it, it went to a band website I go to. I guess I'm concerned with security and want to know if this is anything I should worry about being as I've never seen that little icon before. ty.

MacBook Pro :: Can't Restore App Store Icon
May 20, 2012I moved my App Store Icon into my Trash quite some time ago. I tried to restore it, but haven't been successful. I get this message: "You can't open the application App Store.app because it may be damaged or incomplete." I can't get it back through my Apple icon in upper left. It's not there. I can't find it through Finder. My software is up to date.
My operating system is Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. I don't know if that means I have Snow Leopard or not. I do not want to upgrade to Lion because it will cause previously purchased third-party digital scrapbooking software to quit working. How do I get the App Store Icon back? Everything I can find about getting it seems to be driving me to Lion. I can't even FIND the App Store anymore.
