Do you all experience this much? I'll get pop-ups that make themselves new tabs, or separate windows themselves. I have the option checked to block them in preferences. Is there any add-on you all use that may help? I know some things are going to get through no matter what. So I just thought I'd see what others experiences' were.

(trashed)Deleted FF profile (trashed)Attempted stoping any process in the activity monitor(nothing there)Force quit FF (nothing there) Searched every place I can think of for any file named Firefox or Mozilla with no results.cannot find anything in a "profile" that looks FF related Tried re-downloading FF and re-installing(same error prompt) Tried restarting the comp I made the switch to Apple this year because owners and users of Mac seem to very proud of their product, so does Mac according to the price.

So I am running Firefox version 3.0.8 and when I go to highlight anything with my mouse (Like moving from left to right while holding down the button on my trackpad which should highlight the text) it highlights, but the whole window for Mozilla Firefox moves too, even if I have the text box in use, it does happen with other programs.

I am at present studying Dreamweaver at home on my Mac Pro OS10.6.8.
Part of the process of making a webpage, one has to open it through the internet. Firefox is my choice but unfortunately when pressing F12, Firefox opens but does not open my Dreamweaver based work.
I have searched online and it appears quite a few years back alot of people were experiencing the same with their (now older) versions of Firefox.
When I click a link that opened in a new window (such as a link to a new thread here I get e-mailed to me, when I open that e-mail in Gmail and click the link, it opened the thread in a new window.
Is there any way to get it to open in a tab in the same window? There was a setting for that in IE, but I can't find it on my new iMac.
By the way, it's been about 2 weeks now and I love my MAC even more!

On every restart, Firefox opens by itself and installs itself in the dock no matter what I do. I've made sure the settings in Lion are correct for re-opening apps. Also, I tried to delete a line from a Stickie and it reappears on startup. It's just in my user profile. I created another test user and it didn't happen.

About a week ago, my macbook quit opening internet pdf files. I checked for new software updates but it hasen't worked. No error message shows up, just a blank screen.

When browsing through my HD or external HD every time I click a folder it opens a new window. WHY? Is there any way to have it all use one window? I found in Finder there is an option to always open in a new window but this option is not checked.
In case it matters I am running OSX 10.6.3.
So I would like to have my files open automatically once there downloaded, be it .pdf, .ppt or .doc.

Please go easy on me as I am new to Imac and apple systems. I have always used windows before, and when you open an attachment in windows it just opened in to a new window. Is there a way to do this on an imac, rather than have it go into the pop up downloads window, for you to then click it, for you to then delete it once you have read it. All I really want to do is look at it. It seems a very long winded way of looking at an attachment. Is there a way of changing the settings or is this just the way it goes.
