OS X :: MAC Partition Doesn't Show Up When Pressing Option At Startup
Feb 18, 2009Was trying to install Windows XP through BootCamp. The installation did not go through, and I quit it. After I tried to restart the computer however, it kept going to a black screen with a blinking _ on top.
I restarted, pressing the "option" key and the only partition that shows up there is one for Windows. I can't see one labeled "Mac" or something like it anywhere. I tried using the Repair Disk Utility but it won't actually give me the option to repair ir.

Feb 12, 2008I bought my iMac a few months ago and still can't get to watch what I need to for my business. I breed and own Thoroughbred Race Horses and need to be able to watch races on the web. The people in the store said sure no problem but I still cannot. I have downloaded Flip4Mac which seems to have failed miserably plus Real Player, Quicktime etc.

Sep 15, 2009For the past few months, I've tried to restore my iPod Classic because it randomly restarts itself, not to mention moving on the following song during the middle of a song that is already playing. However, it seems iTunes won't restore it. The following message appears every time I try to do this:

But that website simply doesn't help me out. I've taken my iMac to a Genius and he basically said that something is corrupted in OS X. I should mention the fact that programs such as Onyx and Maintenance claim that I am not the admin when in fact, my account is the only account on the computer. The funny thing was that I created a new account and restored the iPod through there, it would work just fine.
So, besides that long explanation of my problem, is there anyway I can fix this without having to resort to placing all my files on an external and installing a clean copy of OS X? Would archiving and installing back to Leopard do the trick?
Software :: Some Flash Video Sites Not Working Properly
May 29, 2008I'm having an issue where certain flash sites don't work properly, they just sit there loading and never actually do anything.
The vast majority of sites work just fine, youtube, google video, gamevideos.com, the escapist, etc..
But some sites such as [URL] simply will not play the videos.
In addition to that, [URL] will not work either, but there I at least get an error message stating that "flash local storage is not turned on". In this case I've tried to load the flash manager and turn it on, but after changing it and going back in, it seems that my changes were not saved and my local storage is stuck at 10k max.
The exact same sites work fine on my friends PC using my wireless connection.
I have tried to uninstall and reinstall flash with no success.
I've tried both firefox and safari, neither work, but the flash stuff seems to be global on the machine, so I suspect it's more of a problem with the flash than with a specific browser.
I've even tried to run firefox as root, install flash as root, etc thinking that it was something to do with not having permission to write to wherever flash was trying to store stuff.
I've got Firefox 2.0.0.14, OSX 10.4.11, and Flash 9.0.124.0 installed.
I suppose I'm most concerned about pandora.com, but I think the video issues may be related to the "local storage" error I'm getting aswell.

Nov 23, 2007-Downloaded a movie from a torrent site (Dont shoot me, I rented it like 6 times)...
-After download was complete, i opened it up...
-it was an .mp4 file and it played in Quicktime and I could see it AND hear it, everythings' fine...
-I drag the file into iMovie HD...
-After the clip (or movie) was imported I played it and it doesn't show video, i can only hear it.
ive been wondering what it could be, i upgraded to quicktime pro to try and convert it to .mov and still, same thing happened...
Applications :: Video Editing - Put Together Slide And Sound Show
Mar 9, 2009I am new to video editing and am currently looking for a software for Mac to put together a slide + sound show. I am looking for a software that will allow me to play and edit the slide show and music at the same time, i.e. I will have the show and the audio track available for editing on the screen at the same time. The slideshow is a series of jpegs, that will have 3 to 4 timelines running together at the same time, each timeline will be fading in or out or dissovling at the same time so that the transition will create a new image through layering the timelines (am I making sense?).
For the sound, I need to be able to mix multiple tracks and while the show is playing and will be able to increase/decrease the volume of individual tracks at any point of the show. Final cut will suit the video need of my show, but not the audio need (if it does, please let me know), while sound booth will satisfy my audio needs (but I cannot put them on the same screen). I am looking for software that will do the show + sound editing job on the same screen and will not cost as much as FinalCut or Soundbooth. It would be great if there is a good free software.

As I only have a few images to use I'd like to be able to just simply repeat the images until the track stops.Being not terribly Mac/technically minded I'm having problems. Dec 7, 2014So I found the lost project in FCPX. It has a music tract, text and video. When I pulled the project down for editing, I am able to separate the music from the video, but the text bubbles do not appear above the video allowing me to change the misspelled words that need editing.I've searched all of my backup drives for the original footage in case I have to re-edit the whole thing, but I'm unable to find the original footage. Every event in my libraries appears as a finished project.

Specific Calculation in calculator causes '0' error.Steps to Reproduce:
Open up dashboard calculator. Type 54 - 27 press the '=' nothing happens, press again and it displays '0'.
Expected Results:
Correct answer.
Actual Results:
When '=' is pressed, nothing happens, press again and it displays '0'.
Regression:
Always happens.
Notes:
I have noticed that this problems occurs EXACTLY the same on the iPhone latest OS as well.

May 2, 2009I have a buddie who has an iMac and if he closes a program by pressing the red 'x' in the upper left corner
it closes the app completly, i have to close the app then go to the finder bar and press on the name of the open app and go down to quit in order for it to quit completly, how do you set it up to close completly by pressing the 'x'?
(example: if firefox is open, i hit the red 'x' and the program closes, but in the finder bar on top of the screen, it shows the name still and in the dock bar it shows a little white speck under the app and it is not closed completely.

Sep 16, 2009When I upgraded to Snow Leopard I thought that Quicktime X was supposed to be better. -.- ...NOT the case! I usually obtain .mkv movies with DTS or AC3 audio which I can't play since I don't have a receiver right now.
But since I upgraded to Snow Leopard, Quicktime 7 has been shutting down as soon as I press Export? Which puts a huge dent in everything since that was the only way for me to go from 1080p .mkv w/DTS(AC3) to 1080p .mp4 with stereo.

Apr 27, 2012i found that my mac's "shift" key was kept being pressed.so i sent it to Apple,and they fixed it but after about 2 days of normal status,my mac become incredible slow.I cant even do my typing normally but this time i let a friend of mine to fix it, and he removed the ox system i had,repalced with XP the XP runs great but i didn't do much things in XP,cost i don't like it..so i turn my mac into OS system againthen my mac runs normal but the whole things turned into a tragedy angain after i pressed "shift" mac become really slow ,and makes out big noise.I couldn't bear it , it's now the worst machine i have.does it still a hardware mistake with my "shift key".

Every time I insert the disc and press "c" my screen goes completely dark. I thought it could have been a problem with the sensor so I flashed a light into it but it didn't work. I even tried putting it directly towards the sun light and still it doesn't work.
