I recently purchased a MBP and am really enjoying using it. However I have a few issues that I have to get taken care of or I will prolly end up going back to windows.
First major issue is that I have to click twice on mostly everything. If im in a different window and want to click on a link in the browser I have to click twice.
I have windows 7 installed on bootcamp on my 2010 imac. Bootcamp drivers installed. The magic mouse right click is not working properly in windows, but it works perfectly in osx. I usually need to right click twice, sometimes more to get it to right click.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs a long time Windows user when I first started using OS X a couple years ago, I remember the mouse control driving me nuts. It can be quite hard to get used to the OS X acceleration control. I explored a couple of the programs to let you customize the acceleration, but I guess my brain eventually just adapted as it stopped bothering me.
Now though, I am spending a good amount of time in Win 7 on my new Mac Pro. I'm finding that again, every time I go into OS X I find the mouse control very hard to adjust to. It's a Logitech Anywhere MX Mouse and I installed the drivers in both Win 7 and OS X.
Perhaps I am just loosing my mind...but it would be nice if I could have the exact same mouse experience when switching between OS's.
(edit: As a little bit of a further observation, I think the Win 7 mouse refresh rate is several times faster than what I observing in OS X and this is probably a big part of why I am feeling like I have more control in Win 7. Doing circles with my mouse in Win 7 creates a much more complete circle.)

I'm sure that many of you have noticed how the acceleration path for the mouse tracking on OS X feel "different" than Windows and my problem is that I prefer the OSX method of tracking and can't stand the fidgety nature of windows tracking (especially while using the new buttonless trackpads which work great on OSX but fail miserably on windows). I did a search on google and found that there are many ways to get the OS X tracking to "feel" like windows using software like USBOverdrive but I couldn't find any solutions for my problem which involves the opposite, getting windows tracking to feel like OS X.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought a mighty mouse, happy as I was, plugged it in and started my ibook running OS X 10.3.9.I know the mighty mouse shouldn't have full functionality (as the software delivered with it is >10.4.2).The problem is that the right click doesn't work right. When I try to right click it sometimes takes the right click, sometimes takes it as a left click (which is extremely annoying in firefox or finder).
I have SteerMouse (I'm a windows/linux user too) installed but when I de�nstalled it the problem remained.
When I plugged the mighty mouse in my pc (at that time running windows) right click just worked.When using a cheap mouse (from pleomax) the right click on the ibook (with Steermouse installed) works all the time.
I find this al really confusing. Seems like it can't be the hardware because it works on windows, but it can't be the software because another mouse does work.
I noticed that when right clicking at the total right side near the "expose-button" (not a position my fingers lay naturally) right click works all the time. I don't hope this is normal?

I recently connected my mighty mouse to the keyboard and changed some settings on the middle mouse button. Later I reconnected my microsoft mouse, and tried to change the settings back. Now, everything works as per usual, but my middle mouse click-drag scroll doesn't work
I can scroll by using the wheel up and down just fine, but if I try to click-drag, nothing happens. Is there any way I can fix this?

I just bought a macbook pro last week. Since using lion, I have noticed a problem clicking. Such as opening folders, minimizing windows, clicking the back space button etc. I click on a few folders and they open, and then I try to click on another one and it refuses to open no matter how many times I click on it unless I unselect it and try again. It is not consistent to specific folders/icons, it just happens at random.
It is as if the OS is not registering clicks consistently, like it were a hardware problem. Also my right click malfunctions at times and will either not work or will behave like it is the left click and vice versa and takes awhile to regulate itself. Keep in mind I use both a wireless usb mouse and my trackpad and this is a problem I experience with both of them. I am using the latest version (10.7.3)

My imac core i7 arrive (it's great). However, the question I have is that when I double click (left) my my magic mouse (yes I enable the right/left click buttons). So when I double click the mouse on a web browser on the empty space (the space to the right of the red/yellow/green button, nothing happens. I want to send it to the bottom of the dock like in all of my previous mac. The double clicking of the mouse does nothing. Note: please don't confuse my simple question with the System Pref/Doc (minimize windows into application icon) situation. I know how to do that. Note that mouse acceleration in OS X cannot be terminated completely, unless you are using something like USB OVerdrive. Assuming you are not using or do not want to use USB overdrive or similarly complete solution, read on.

You'll get a Unix executable file. Open a Terminal window and drop the file onto it.
After "killmouseaccel", type "mouse" (without quotation marks), and make sure a space remains between the two words. Then hit enter.
Effect is immediate. Logging out or restarting will kill the effect, so you'll have to run it each time. You might be able to set it to an automatic script upon logging in. Something I haven't figured out yet.
Ideally, it's best to increase the mouse tracking speed first (using instructions I posted elsewhere in this forum), which should be permanent until you reset the speed in the actual mouse pref pane, and then run the executable to kill mouse acceleration.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm having some trouble with my Logitech V450 Nano mouse. It feels awkward compared to a regular PC mouse.
To be more specific, I have trouble accurately moving the cursor. When I move the cursor a short distance, it feels like I'm moving through mud. By contrast, when I move the mouse over a longer distance, it feels much faster. This makes it really difficult for me to close windows and play any sort of FPS game.
Now, the Logitech software allows me to change the mouse acceleration, but it still feels really awkward. I've experimented with almost every setting but the speed still doesn't feel accurate/consistent. Does this make sense or am I taking crazy pills?
Is there a way to disable mouse acceleration in OS X like this is in Windows, hopefully without resorting to a third party program?
And is there any way to turn off anti-aliasing, or turn it down further than the "light" setting? I've always really disliked anti aliasing...

View 1 Replies View Related I�m not a complete dummy but I am not too good with macs, as I have ony switched over from a PC a couple of months ago. I have a new unibody MBP. Everything is fine, except for the mousing situation.
I have done some research as to why the mouse feel is downright brutal for me with OSX. The acceleration curve is different than in Windows. My only complaint with Apple right now is that they do not offer any kind of fix for this. I want to throw my macbook out the window when using an external mouse.
MS Intellipoint is supposedly the only true fix. Anyways from what I have read, MS Intellipoint will only override OSX�s cursor acceleration curve when using a Microsoft mouse. This person (link at bottom) found a way around it, although I think he is doing it with an "alphagrip". I need to see if I can do it with a Logitech wireless mouse. On the bottom, people commented that it worked for them. I find his directions very unclear, but that may be because I am not a wizard.

I had to dissassemble my wireless Mighty Mouse to clean it properly, as the trackball was unable to scroll up and down. As I had cleaned the trackball, I attached the two internal cables to their respective "slots" again and assembled the mouse.
Now my right button does the same as the left button (right click = left click). I tried dissassembling the mouse again, but I cannot see what I could have done wrong. After all, there are only two cables to attach and de-attach inside it.

I need some help. just recently got a new macbook pro. 15 inch 2.66 i7 model. i partitioned my harddrive and installed windows with bootcamp... windows loads just fine, only issue is my keyboard and track pad are not working. i've tried plugging in keyboards and a mouse via usb and they still dont work. i've started in safe mode and still nothing. has anyone had this issue before? know any way to fix it?

It doesn't work with gpu acceleration on HD videos (no white square on left corner) in Safari and Firefox, and as expected, the Nvidia 330M doen't even kick in. However, it does work in Opera 10.5 on the Macbook pro, and in all browsers in my '09 20" iMac (9400M)! I already repaired permissions, uninstalled and reinstalled flash, and I can't get hardware acceleration in flash on the macbook pro! It reports version 10,1,81,3 in both Macbook and iMac. If anyone with a 330M iMac has Flash 10.1 preview (gala) installed, please try it - select 720p and see if it gets a small white square on the left upper corner.
