View 1 RepliesI have a 2011 iMac 27 inch I purchased in around December. I have the most updated version of OS X Lion. My wifi connection to my router keeps dropping and losing connection. This does not happen to my other devices (MBP, iPhone, iPad). There was a fix for OSX Lion which worked for a bit but now it's happening again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Yosemite my Wi-Fi connection is awful! It connects and disconnects every 10 seconds, this has only happened very recently so I think its linked to the upgrade to Yosemite...Â

My laptop drops the wi-fi connection every time the cover closes for sleep mode. It just started doing that recently. What settings should I do to make it stay connected? My other Apple devices continue to work normally.

I just got Lion and a new iMac. It disconnects the wi-fi everytime it goes to sleep. This messes up my vidoe uploads that take more than a few minutes.

I've had problems related to both WiFi and Bluetooth ever since going Lion. However, after updating to 10.7.3 (the large update) from 10.7.2 the WiFi always drops whenever I switch my Bluetooth audio on. It resumes after disabling the bluetooth audio. Please note that Bluetooth is always on in both cases, I just switch the audio output. Tried resetting SMC and PRAM - didn't work Â

Randomly, my computer seems to be disconnected from my wi-fi network. It is not a routeur problem since every other devices still work when the computer doesn't.

My problem is at home the wifi works great but at work or on a public network it disconnects every minute. Only happened since upgrade to Yosemite. I'm aware lots of people are having issues with WIFI since upgrading to Yosemite.Â

My brand new imac randomly disconnects from the internet. We have a BT hub - wifi. I have googled this issue and see that it is relatively common and it is incredibly frustrating. It is fairly simple to reconnect each time but it is driving me mad having to. It generally happens when the computer is asleep but sometimes in the middle of doing something.

I have a mid-2010 Macbook Pro with a 2.53 GHz Core i5 processor and 8 GB of RAM, running OS X 10.10.1. For the last few weeks, at apparently-random intervals, the machine has been rebooting while I've been using it. I can't tie this to anything in particular that I'm doing. It may go a couple of days before a restart, or it could be like today, where it's happened five times in the last four hours. I've tried resetting the PRAM and the SMC without apparent effect.Â
When the reboot happens, the system first freezes for roughly 30 seconds--the mouse pointer won't move, it's unresponsive to keyboard input, etc. The system then appears to power down--the screen and external monitor go dark, fans stop, keyboard backlight goes out. A few seconds later, it powers up, gives the boot chime, and goes through the normal boot sequence. At no point does it give the "your computer was restarted because of a problem" message, and I don't see anything in the Console app that looks like a kernel panic.Â
About two years ago, the logic board was replaced to address a somewhat-similar issue--the system had been freezing and could only be recovered by a hard power off (holding down the power button for several seconds). Â
I'm not sure where to start looking for the cause of this problem, since I can't figure out anything in common with the circumstances surrounding the reboots.

I've begun to notice a ring, roughly three inches in diameter, in the middle of my Air, Rev C, Screen. It is a white ring, a couple of millimeters thick, that I can see best behind an all white screen, i.e. a blank page of a word processing document.
Anyone seen anything like this before. I can actually see part of it right on the white of the page I am typing in this thread.

My iMac G5 desktop will go to sleep after I use it for about 20mn or so. I Can wake it but it will go to sleep faster and faster until I just give up. Then if a let it rest for a while I can come back and use it for another 20 mn or so before it start. Going to sleep again. Could it be heating up and my fan is broken?

Recently my iMac has been booting really slow and I've run out of ideas to fix it. So far I've used Onyx to tune everything up, repaired permissions, repaired disk using the disk utility (no errors came up), and I've cleared PRAM. I have XP as a partition using Boot Camp. Its starting to get really annoying.

What's more, when I restart to my bootcamp partition, the internet works fine. It's only in Mac OS that I have a problem.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a MacBook. So far I am loving it. Unfortunately a very strange thing happens. Whenever I download something with the Macbook every other device at my house becomes unable to connect to the internet until the download is finished. It doesn't matter if it is a WiFi device or not. The connected devices are: a WinXP Netbook, an ubuntu9.10 desktop PC (please notice this is connected with an Ethernet cable, it's not wifi), a WiFi and a Samsung Bluray reader. To complicate things even further, I noticed that even the MacBook itself cannot do anything else (such as browsing the web w/ Safari and/or Firefox). I tried to download large files such as a movie from iTunes store and the iPhone SDK. The download rate is about 600Kb/sec.
I have a 6Mb/sec DSL w/ AT&T and the modem is a 2WIRE 1701HG. Granted, it's pretty cool to have a laptop that can hose wireless networks. These are some info from my network:

My new (to me) G4 runs fine (OS 10.5.5) except that after about 45 minutes, it just quits and returns to the login screen. I first noticed this as I was attempting to update software. Download proceeded, and after about 45, back to login. Sitting, running unattended, with all power save options set to "never" it does the same thing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just bought an Imac 21.5inch, mid 2011 - Lion 10.7.3 (11D50) and the wireless connection keeps stopping either it shows it's connected or it's not connected at all. This happens every 30 mins or so, sometimes after 5 minutes or sometimes I can get away for a few hours. I'm using a Draytek router with 3 Wifi aeriels and in the house I have 2 mac minis, an ipad, iphone, android phone and a couple of other PCs, none of which have this problem. I've tried changing the router from G to N and also checked who else nearby is in the same wifi settings, I'm set to 6 others set to 1 or 12. So wouldn't think there is interference. I've only just bought this machine so wondering if it's a problem with Lion or the iMAC. Â

I have a issue where I get the spinning beach ball of death and it lasts for about 20-30 secs, but I get this every 4-5 mins..I have used CleanMyMac to remove all the crap and run all the cleaning and maintence tasks on Onyx to clear the computer up; to be fair it is kept very clean most of the time anyway.I have checked the hard drive and corrected all permissions as well as verifying the drive itself.I have run a Memtest 2 pass on the RAM and had no errors. Both of these were done in single user mode from boot using the Terminal.I am running a 2009 Mac Mini with a 2.6 Core2Duo, 6Ghz RAM, 160GB SSD drive. It is plugged in via the mini display port to an HD Tv and connected through the optical port to an amp for audio. I am using the wireless bluetooth Mac keyboard and Magic Mouse.

I've recently moved into student accommodation, which only has wired internet access in the rooms. This is fine for my MacBook, but causes problems for the iPad! So I've been attempting to share the MacBook's internet connection through AirPort using the "Internet Sharing" option in System Prefs->Sharing. This works great, but after a while it disconnects for no apparent reason.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've found many different explanations to why bluetooth on my Macbook would 'overheat' and then disconnect from all devices, only to show 'Bluetooth Not Responding'.
I was wondering if anyone has found a fix to this problem. I'm current on all updates running Snow Leopard. Normally, the bluetooth keyboard and mouse works for up to 5 minutes or so, but then loses its connection until it 'cools down' and then this process just repeats. The laptop is currently on a cooling fan and rarely needs the internal fan to even kick on so not sure what else to do.
My Macbook 2009 continously disconnects itself from the airport and wifi. After it disconnects it takes about an hour to get it to work again. It is not my router because my iphone is still connected to wifi when this happens This also only happens at my home router.

I have a 17-inch MacBook Pro and a 27 inch Thunderbolt display. I've been using both for about 2 years now. On occasion, the display disconnects for no obvious reason. Unplugging it from my MacBook Pro and replugging it in seems to solve the problem, but its been happening more frequently lately.Â
