View 21 Replies View RelatedI am in the market for a keyboard skin for my 2010 13" MBP. I looked at the Moshi but apparently there is a heating issue. What keyboard skins, if any of you use it, do you guys recommend? And did Speck update their shell cases for the MBP yet?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a keyboard skin or protector for my 13" late 2010 MBA. Does anyone know of any? I know of moshi but I've heard conflicting reports on it's compatability..
View 22 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed that with a keyboard skin, the sound is much worse (muted, no treble) on the MBA? Is this common to all Macs or is it only on the MBA? Is the keyboard the, y'know, vent or something for the speakers?
I have a 13" MBA, and a Moshi clearguard skin.. I'm a first time Mac switcher so I didn't know if this was common. I do 900miles of research before every purchase, even been lurking around this forum for ages now, but I never read about anything like this - only that keyboard skins may or may not make it run warmer.
Will the clearguard available right now fit on the Oct. 10 MBA 13" laptop keyboards? Are they releasing a new skin specifically for the new line of macbook airs? What's the deal?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I have the 2008 white Macbook and I recently got the infamous palmrest cracks repaired for free by Apple. Do you think buying one of these skins will help prevent the cracks as it would lessen the pressure when I close my laptop?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Moshi Palmguard/Trackpad cover on my Black MacBook and would like to now protect the keyboard as well. I don't want those shiny marks to start showing up on my space bar. I searched the forums but didn't find any solid suggestions. Can my fellow Blackbook users point me to something I won't regret purchasing?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got my old macbook replaced by the new unibody macbook. I had a keyboard skin on my old one to protect the keyboard and it was the full version to cover the palm area as well from dirt and wear. Do you guys think its necessary to get a skin that covers the palm area on the unibody or will a skin that just covers the key suffice? Is the palm area on the unibody easily scratched or worn in color? Any ideas on where to find the best deals on such products?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to just closed my Mac instead of pressing the shutdown button; I tried this time but I cannot shut it down anymore, also my keyboard cannot control the volume or turn on the keyboard-light. Also I remember there is like a back-up shortcut (or something like that don't know what is it exactly named) consisting of three keyboard button.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my friend was using his MacBook and went to do something else. He came back and the screen was black, he hit space and nothing, tried the trackpad and nothing. He restarted by holding the Power button, and it go to the log-in screen, but he can't type anything, or use the trackpad. He has tired restarting several times and no luck. He also tried an external Keyboard/Mouse and that didn't work.
He did plug in a Flash drive and the light turned on, so the USB ports are at least getting power, but nothing is working.
I'm thinking of buying a MacBook but I have one reservation. I'm moving from a Powerbook 12"...
What's the consensus on the MacBook keyboard in terms of ease & comfort of use? I write for a living so a good keyboard is pretty essential. I've always been mostly satisfied with my powerbook keyboard, it's pretty comfortable although I occasionally mash a neighbouring button with my big clumsy fingers. The MacBook keyboard looks a little... weird. How is it?
Yesterday I had a Leopard software update which included new keyboard firmware. I did the update and the keyboard continued to function normally. This AM I booted my MacBook Pro and discovered the keyboard no longer responds to inputs. However, the MB does responds to an external USB keyboard.
Now I don't know if I have a sudden hardware problem or the MB keyboard is not working as a result of the firmware update. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? Can I go back to the earlier revision of the keyboard firmware?
Hmmm - while writing this I just realized I have a bootable image of my system made a few week back on an external drive - I'll have to try it.
I just bought a new 2012 aluminum Wireless keyboard and the function keys do not work properly. I am currently running OS 1.5.8. I would expect most keys to match the icons on the keyboard. I do not want to upgrade to Snow Leopard or Lion. I have installed an aluminum keyboard upgrade 2.0 and this did not help. I just want the the keyboard functions to match the icons on the keyboard.. Volume up...volume down...

I just got a generic usb keyboard to use with my mbp as schoolwork is taking its toll on the keys and I wouldn't mind preserving it a little better.
This keyboard is the dynex from bbuy that's labeled in windows crap but was cheap and works fine on the mac. Unfortunately, everytime the mbp comes out of sleep, the keyboard is unresponsive and i have to set it up again in settings.
Just hoping there's a simple fix and that it's not terminal
thanks in advance.
I bought a new i7 iMac about two months ago and love it but the Bluetooth keyboard it came with recently started acting up. It randomly disconnects and when it does it will type whatever letter I last hit on the keyboard repeatly.

I would like to edit my o , u , and a keys to create ??d 䠨alt + u = ? + o = ?tc...) Is this possible? It's a bit annoying switching between the different keyboards when I would like to make an umlaut.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy desk configuration for my imac includes a keyboard tray. I am contemplating just not using it, however it really does put the keyboard in a more natural place for me to sit correctly. If I want to use the wired keyboard though, I will obviously need some type of usb extension. I have read these came with the old keyboards, but they don't come with the new ones. Does anyone know where I can find one that is compatible with the aluminum keyboard? Would the extenders that came with the old Mac keyboards work (in case i can find one on ebay or something)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just bought a Mac mini to use as a media centre, and I picked up the Apple wireless keyboard and mouse while I was at it. It wasn't until I got home that I read the "requirements" section on the side of the mouse and keyboard boxes, where it states that an existing keyboard and mouse are needed for setup.
I have a USB mouse, but no keyboard (my other Mac is a MBP), and nowhere to borrow one from (all my friends have laptops).
I've connect a Microsoft keyboard to my Mac and swapped the control and commany keys in system preferences.
The weird thing is Microsoft's keyboard can't understand the swap. When I press the control key, sometimes it thinks I am pressing command and sometimes it thinks I am pressing control.

I alternate between French and English regularly when typing, but every time I have to go to System Preferences (or add an ugly flag that does not match the color-scheme to the status-bar) and change the language. Is there a way to have a keyboard shortcut that switches between two keyboard shortcuts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedBluetooth says my keyboard is paired, configured, and connected (and it works).Keyboard under System Preferences says "no keyboard found" and it continues to search for the keyboard. View 4 Replies View RelatedAnyone have any idea? I'm thinking of getting a refurb MBP here in Japan, but it comes with Japanese keyboard that I'm really not used to. Apple have MBPs with English keyboard only for new units, not refurbished.
So I'm thinking of buying the English keyboard from parts site on the net and replacing it myself. However, I'd like to know if there's any driver change or anything needed on Mac OS X?
In the System Preferences, I don't see any place I can set what type of physical keyboard layout I'm using. Please advise if you've any experience.
I have a 2.16GHz MacBook and some of the keys stopped working and I did a computer formate and that didn't fix the problem. I was wondering if a version 2 keyboard would work on my version 1 MacBook. (the only difference is the Fkeys have the newer lineup) did anyone try this before?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is an idea that I have since I bought a MacBook Pro and it's because I love the trackpad and I use it instead of the mouse.
So the keyboard of an iMac can have integrated the keyboard itself + the trackpad in just a single "device".
The place of the trackpad can be where before were a numeric keypad. It can have the other features that have the MBP's keyboard.
