MacBook Pro :: Possible To Reset To Factory Settings But Keep Certain Items?
I would like to reset my mac back to factory settings, but I need to retain the microsoft office 2008 for mac. This is because the University I went to allowed me to buy it for about $10, but with a one time download capability. So if I loose themicrosoft office 2008, I am going to be dishing out the $170 to get it again. I want to reset it because I feel like i have a bunch of extra stuff that is just clutter, and I don't simply just want to delete things, because I'm afraid it might be essential for something else. I have a seagate 320GB external hard drive, is there anyway to reset my computer back to factory settings, and extract just the microsoft word 2008 for mac?

MacBook Pro :: Factory Reset - Copy All Settings?
Im setting out to my hometown for 5 days and all of my stuff are on my iMac. I dont know, how to copy all settings ,etc from iMac straight to the Macbook Pro. As far as I think, the only way is first to reset the Macbook Pro. Take a Time Machine backup from the iMac. And then restore the copy to the Macbook Pro. Is that the only way left for me? And how do we factory reset the macbook pro, so everything gets deleted and becomes new and ready for a new Tim Machine restore.

MacBook :: Reset To Factory Settings And Snow Leopard 10.6 Install?
I would like to wipe my MacBook Core 2 Duo, currently running 10.5.8 I just recieved the Snow Leopard 10.6 disk, before I upgrade, I want to wipe this laptop completely as if it were new.  Will this be an option during the install of 10.6 or do I have to go about it another way?  Here is the catch, I recently moved, and misplaced the CD's the MacBook originally came with.  So all I have is the computer and the Snow Leopard 10.6 cd.

MacBook Air :: Can Reset Laptop To The Original Factory Settings
Is there any way you can reset your MacBook Air to the original settings you first recieved it in? I've noticed I have way to much junk to go through and try to delete it all and when I try to delete something it does the poof thing it's supposed to, but later I notice it has not been deleted. I've tried restarting my computer, and completely turning it off for 24 hours then seeing it its gone, but it never deletes.

Hardware :: Airport Express - How To Reset To Factory Settings
I recently moved to a new place. At my old apartment I had my express plugged in, never constantly unplugged it or anything and it worked fine.

I move into my new place and now my express wont work. I did a factory reset, holding the reset while plugging it in, reconfigured it to extend my network as I use it to connect to xbox live.

Everything will work for about 2-3 minutes and have internet until the light goes solid yellow. It wont show up in the airport utility or anything. I look at it and it is shutoff while plugged in. No blinking light, no solid light just nothing.

I cant find any information on any other resets and I assumed factory was way to go after it wasnt working the first time.

I have NO idea what to do now. I assume its dead completely unless there is something im doing wrong.

I have had it for a little over a year. Not exactly sure when i bought it. I think I am within a month of the warranty expiring. This sucks. I dont have my proof of purchase or anything. But I am positive I bought it around this time.t does the normal start-up by blinking green then solid yellow while starting then it resets, "starts up" one more time then shuts off completely.

I've booted up my Mac this evening only to find that something weird has happened. My Dock has gone back to how it was when I first got my MacBook. All Histories for Firefox and everything else have disappeared. The software I use regularly are asking me for Serial Numbers.

Basically everything that I've tailored (screen savers etc) have been reset to factory defaults. All applications I've installed are still there only I can't use them as they're asking my for the Serial Numbers.

I am working on restoring my Macbook to its factory settings. I am planning to "wipe" my computer clean before i install 10.6 (snow lepord) and then later install mac lion.

i know that i need the installation discs to accomplish such a task. do the disks have to come from my specific operating system? can i use a disk from an older operating system (such as 10.4)

MacBook Pro :: Restoring Mac To Factory Settings?
I have inserted the "install disc" many times. However, my laptop is never able to start up. It alternates between a black and grey (no apple or wheel) screen.

I've tried holding down the "C" key while rebooting..that didnt work.

I've tried clicking restart when it instructs me to...that didnt work

I've tried going to system preferences --> startup disk --> clicking the install drive and it still didnt work.
