i have a macbook that is a few years old. a small horizantal 'section' about 1 cm wide has lost sensitivity to tracking and clicking? ever run into it before? hoping it isn't the end of life for something..

Ever since up upgraded to lion, my trackpad is ultra sensitive. I'll have my thumb hovering over the pad while scrolling around or circling on a page, and it will think i've tapped it. I've checked all my settings and can't find anywhere that changes this.

Is the trackpad sensitivity still a problem for anyone else with a MacBook Pro? I'm using Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) on a 2008 Penryn non-UB, and downloaded/installed the new 3.1 update manually and the Trackpad is still incredibly sensitive with accidental clicks galore and "dragging". What options do you have under the Trackpad tab, on the Bootcamp 3.1 Control Panel? I have:

I used to be able to click then while holding down my finger highlight an area of text to either copy and paste or to search. Not any more! Also my trackpad will not allow me to click hold and move things. I do not want to have to use a mouse.

I have a Rev C Air with the SSD, snow leopard 10.6.1 and all of a sudden I have lost the pinch and squeeze, three finger swipe. All that works is the scrolling. Checked in system preferences and all of the appropriate boxes are checked.

I was watching a show on my mid-2012 15' rMBP when my keyboard and trackpad suddenly stopped working. I tried to hibernate (closing and opening) my laptop to no avail. it was only after i had reset it (held on to the power button) did my keyboard and trackpad return to the normal state. Is there any logical explanation to this?

Once this happens I no longer have a cursor so I can't fast forward etc. I have to right click (two finger click on my trackpad) to find my cursor. It also happens when I exit the podcast and go back to the menu. How can I prevent this from happening?

Just got a new MBP 15" AG this week and was wondering if you can adjust the sensitivity of the keyboard backlight. It seems to come on even in a fairly well lit room and I mainly only need it in a completely dark room. So I find myself hitting the backlight keys to turn it off and then whenever it wakes from sleep goes back to full bright. Didn't find anything in the keyboard preferences and found a program called Lab Tick which will take care of the level on wake.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI had a look today at various models of the MBP, I must say I like everything about them except the keyboard, to touch type on it, it feels very cheap, very "lack of response". I am a fast touch typist, and I am used to bashing out 60+ wpm, however I found on all the models I tired, 13,15 and 17 the keyboard is all much of a much. I found typing fast that characters don't appear on the screen.
I assume somewhere in the options there are settings to change the keyboard sensitivity? That's really the only thing putting me off buying one, well apart from also deciding what screen size to get. Portability vs. Screen Size. I wish Apple offered an i7 version of the 13" MBP, that would make the choice easy.
I'm considering buying a new MBP, and I'm wondering about the chances that washing the keyboard with a little bit of water on a cloth would trip the LSIs. Is there a "safer" way to get rid of dust and the like?

I use a Razer Deathadder and ever since I've started using it I've had to reset my sensitivity settings (via Apple -> System Preferences -> Mouse) after every system restart. I've read a bit about it online, some seem to think that deleting the Razer driver would work, but it hasn't for me. Any ideas on why the settings keep getting changed back to default?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an late 08 unibody Mbp and a 11 mba, I have noticed the glass trackpad on the air is much closer to the glass on an iphone in the way your finger reacts to it... the least bit of moisture and your finger doesn't glide as easily. On the pro it seems to have more of a coating to allow for smoother use under these normal conditions (humidity). Has anyone else noticed this? bottom line the air trackpad almost seems more polished.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy MB's trackpad button is spoilt, I think there's something wrong with the spring which makes it unclickable and sometimes remains pressed.
Is there anyway to disable only the trackpad button but not the whole trackpad? Tapping still works, but the MB mistakens it as dragging sometimes because the button is stuck as a pressed button.
i have safari 5.1.2 when i expand the 'show more' section below a video to view the extra information, the info will not show the box expands but it's blank. the only way to view the info is highlight and drag downward the text you can see at the very top of the box

My iPhoto (called Photos) resides in the Media section of the finder window unlike the Pictures folder which is grouped in the Favorites section. The media section does not show up in the regular finder window. It shows up only when trying to attach a file. I've tried to drag and drop the Photos folder to drop inside the Pictures folder but it won't.Â
I'm hoping to reorganize my iPhoto library to an external drive and am having difficulity making sure I'm finding the correct files, etc.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a new MacBook Pro (A1286) 2.66Ghz which is just over two weeks old. Whilst watching a video on YouTube a horizontal line appeared across the screen. I tried rebooting, however, the line was still present. I have tried switching between the 9400/9600 and the line is still visible.
The line is still there when I boot the laptop into Windows, does it look like I have a faulty GPU/logicboard on my brand new MacBook?

I have a white line in the display where I also have my dock. So it's not always on the same Display. You can see a few pictures attached that show you that this line is some kind of weird. Windows that are always in the front like "About my Mac" are over this line and if I open all windows of one program I get three of those lines.
The lines are here since I updated my MacBook to the newest firmware.
