MacBook Pro :: Won't Turn On - Flashing Sleep Light
I bought a new mpb , i7. a few weeks ago it turned off and it wouldnt turn back on when i connected it to the power source , the sleep light however kept flashing, and it madethis sound like if it was trying to boot. anyway,i left it charging for a bit and it started working on its own.
however, lately its been shutting down when it runs out of battery instead of hibernating (which is really frustrating). and just now its doing the flashing thing again, cept for a much longer time.. any idea how to resolve this/what might be wrong with it?
MacBook Pro Won't Turn On / Odd Flashing Light
My wife's MacBook Pro has failed to start. Strangely the button to open the lid on front flashes. The computer recently had a new mother board put in. Feburary. Bit of a waste of money on and old mac. But there you go.Now we can't get it to turn on.Disk drive macs a sound but screen doesn't even turn grey. Can't seem to reset PRAM. Get no chimes at all.
MacBook Pro :: Won't Turn On, Sleep Light Blinks Once?
I own a MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz and my problem happend like this:Last night I stopped playing SC2 and closed my MBP, then this morning I noticed that while it was closed, it had not gone to sleep mode, or at least that's what I thought, because it was too hot and the fans spinning hard. I openned it and showed no video, but remained on. After a 5-sec power button restart, it flashed the sleep indicator once and did nothing else, except for the HD spinned for a sec.I took the battery off and gave the computer time to cool off, because I sensed it way too hot. After I reinstalled the battery, I was able to turn it on the normal way, it worked just fine, but later I closed it again and when I openned it, it showed no video again.I repeated the process of letting it cool down, but with no effect this time. The sleep indicator turns on once and it does nothing.I tried swapping the memories, resetting the SMC, tried booting pressing control + command + r + p, tried booting without the battery, tried booting without the magsafe, nothing has worked. Now what happens when I press the power button is I hear the HD try to spin for half a second and the sleep indicator turn on once.
OS X :: Macbook Won't Turn On - Sleep Light Flashes
my Macbook (I believe a 2008 model wouldn't wake up from it's sleep like it does every time I open it (I usually set it to sleep rather than shut it down). I turned it off manually, but when I attempted reboot it does either one of two things:
a) When I simply press the power on button, the screen stays black and the sleep light fades on once, but then fades off and all mechanical sounds abruptly stop. b) When I press and hold the power button, the sleep light fades on, but then flashes about 10 times rapidly before fading in and once again abruptly turning off.
I have tried this with the charger plugged in several different outlets, not plugged into the Macbook, waiting, removing and putting back the battery. A Google search said it might have something to do with the RAM and pushing it back in, but I have no idea how to do that.
MacBook Pro :: It Won't Charge And Have A Flashing Green Light?
I have not used my MacBook for a couple of days n today realised it needed charging when I come to use it so I plugged it in. I get a green flashing light but it won't charge? I have only had it since April so can't see it being the mac is it the charger itself?
MacBook Pro :: Wont Turn On Charger Light Flashing Orange
New mac user. Got a macbook pro model a1278. When it is plugged in the charger flashes orange faintly. Tried resetting the smc but nothing. Any ideas? Hard drive might be bad but other than that im not sure.a bad hard drive would cause this.
MacBook Pro :: On / Off Light Won't Turn On
The on light at the front of the base (right edge) went out. I have a late 2011 MacBook Pro 13 inch. The apple on the cover side of the monitor still comes on.†Oddly enough, this happened right after I installed a trial of Photoshop version 13.0.0 Beta. Should I just have the light replaced or could this be a signal of other problems? I don't have a lot of new stuff installed since I'm coming from a pre intel mac desktop.

MacBook Pro :: Won't Turn On After Sleep?
i'm typing this with a look of scared-********ness on my face...Ok, so i had my MBP (i think it's the 4,1 model, 2.6 core2duo with 4gb ram BTO) connected to my tv and a couple of external hard drives, set it to sleep last night with the lid open, hit the spacebar this morning to wake it and nothing happened I disconnected frok everything and tried the following to no avail:-Holding the power button turns it off but hitting it again brings it back to the same state, sounds like it's working but keys don't respond and monitor's off.-I tried resetting PRAM but keys don't respond-Took off battery, held power button down for 20 seconds-Took out the two RAM chips and swapped them around-Tried reconnecting the TV to see if it would re-detect monitors-Closed the lid to see if it'll re-sleep and wake up properly but what it does is that the light on the front lights up but doesn't start blinkingAt this point i can't think of anything else to do so please help me out!I'm taking out both battery and RAM chips and leaving it on the bed in hopes it will lose all charge and memory of this ****-up.Btw, there's no warranty and no applecare on it, if push comes to shove i will take it to an applestore but one: i can't really afford that right now and two: i don't really trust them here in greece
MacBook Pro :: Won't Wake From Sleep - Lid Light Very Faint
Last night after I shut my MBP, I went to re-open it a few minutes later to find the computer to do nothing. If I try a hard restart with the power button it sounds like it is going to boot but nothing happens. The only real indication I have that it is even on at all is the light on the lid latch is on but not pulsating. When the lid is up the light is very faint and when the lid is closed the light is bright. I have tried most of the things i saw on the apple support site with no luck.
MacBook Pro :: Auto Sleep - Won't Turn On
Over the weekend, I removed my battery with the magsafe adapter still plugged in. There was no immediate problems, MBP continued to work fine. After leaving it idle for a while, it went into auto-sleep. Now, someone at home tripped over the magsafe cable and disconnected it. Since then, I have not been able to turn the computer on. (with or without battery) The battery I removed is with a friend and I have a spare battery. Upon inserting the spare battery, the battery indicator blinks 5 times. (According to Apple Support this means I need to replace the battery) My current battery is still with my friend. How come the MBP wouldn't turn on with just the adapter plugged in? I've owned Apple Laptops since 9 years ago and have never come across this problem. I'm getting my current battery back today. Not sure if it'll sort things out.
MacBook Pro :: Appears To Turn On But Sleep Light Remains On And No Start Up Screen?
This morning, I synced my iPod with my MacBook and upon completion and permission to disconnect the device, I pulled out the USB cord. At that point the computer instantly turned itself off, and when I hit the power button, I could hear the system trying to start up, but the screen remained black and the sleep light glowed continuously. I unplugged the charger, took out the battery and put it back in, and tried all the troubleshooting tips under the Apple Support guide with no success. I also discovered that when I closed the laptop while it was "on," it would seem to boot up a little more before returning to the black screen. I left it alone for a few hours, and when I tried again to turn it on, it booted up normally and as I was searching for updates, it shut down again as it had earlier.
Does anyone have anything for me to try? I don't want to have to take it into a shop because I can just barely afford to, but I need this computer! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :-)
MacBook :: Won't Turn On No White IR Light And The Fan Doesn't Respond?
So this morning I woke up and went to press the power button of my Macbook, but nothing happened. I noticed that there is no white IR light and the fan doesn't respond. I checked the battery, it was at full. The power cable was also green when i plugged it into the Macbook. However, it still wouldn't turn on.
Just a general comment, I use the Macbook as a printer server and to browse the internet, so nothing intensive is forced onto the Macbook. So then I tried resetting the SMU, didn't work. I tried turning it on with only battery , and then with only power source, both didn't work either.I have never spilled anything on this macbook, never dropped it, smashed it, or abused it in any way. However, it is 2 years old and I never bought Applecare (Usually, if something is defective, it will show within the first 30 days). I assume it's a logic board failure, and it's going to cost around 700 to fix (which i'd rather just get a new macbook).
I was wondering if anybody know of a reason why the logic board broke, or if there is any remedies that i haven't tried yet? Also, I'm thinking of pawning it off on ebay and then save up and wait for the Macbook Pro refresh. Does anyone have an estimate on how much I can get for a broken Macbook (screen is fine, 4gb of ram (i might replace it w/ 2gb instead) 250 gb HD (might replace with 80gb HD instead), 2.0 ghz c2d (prbly useless cuz the logic board is fried)
Spilt Tea On Macbook Won't Turn On / Dim Green Light
Last week I spilt tea (english tea with soy milk) on it while it was CLOSED, but it got into the side plugs and etc. I turned it off, and put it immediately in rice to dry it out, and later took the battery out as well. I tried to turn it on, but nothing except for a very pale green light coming from the plug itself. After many attemps of turining it on still no success. A roommate opened it up and cleaned the rusty bits with pure alcohol, but still it won't turn on. The rust was only close to the part where the plug goes.Does anyone know if it's just a matter of replacing a piece or something more expensive? I'd like to find out before I go to a repair place.
MacBook Air :: Won't Shut Down -white Sleep Light On
When I recently tried to shut down my MacBook Air, as I always do when I'm finished using it, it wouldn't. The Finder menu bar went away, and I let the minute timer run out instead of pressing shut down (as that didn't work). The screen turned off, and I shut the lid, but the white sleep light was still on. When I opened it up it acted as if it was awaking from sleep. It never shut down. It said "The application Finder failed to quit....etc" So then, I opened the force quit menu and "relauched" finder, as this is the only option available (all other applications are not running, just finder), but the only thing that happened was that the bar went away. Restarting and shutting down only does that.

MacBook Pro :: Sleep Light Doesn't Blink When MBP Left To Sleep?
I set the MBP to sleep in 10 min through the Energy Saver pref with the option to sleep the hdds. When it's about to sleep the screen dims, then turns black, then the sleep light comes on but does not blink no matter how long I leave it. The blinking only happens when I close the lid or when I select the Sleep option under the Apple logo. Is that normal behavior?
Out of seemingly nowhere, my iSight light turned on and now wont turn off. The only program I had open at the time was Firefox. When I try to open up PhotoBooth it says this:
There's nothing listed under USB High-Speed Bus in the system profiler either.
I've tried logging out of my user account, restarting, shutting down, unplugging and holding the back button for 5 seconds ...none of that worked. I tried resetting my Mac's PRAM and NVRAM. That didn't work either, and that's where a second problem appeared: when I try to shut my computer off, it freezes. I have to shut it off by holding the back button.
Is repairing the permissions and/or disk worth a shot? Or should I just take it straight into the Apple store? I hope it's not a hardware issue because I just recently had a new hard-drive installed after it broke down on December 15.
PowerPC :: G5 Won't Turn On ... Blinking Power Button / White Light Every 4 Seconds
I have a G5 dual 1.8 power PC...Bought some ram put it in & booted up. Then a red light came on the logic board behind the power button. The machine wouldn't turn on....I called apple care & we rearranged the ram, now the red light is gone but my system still won't boot up. The white power light blinks every few seconds... the apple store told me sorry can't help because your machine is vintage. Even if my logic board is fried is there a place to buy one on the cheap?
IMac Intel :: Screen Won't Turn On - Automatic Sleep
So I've been pretty happy with my iMac i7 so far but in the last few days, I've been having some issues with the sleep function. I first noticed an issue where I couldn't wake my iMac back up from sleep. The screen wouldn't turn on after pressing a bunch of buttons on the keyboard or clicking the mouse and I would end up having to reboot the computer entirely. The second issue with the sleep function happened this morning. I tried to manually sleep my iMac before going to work and it just refused to sleep. The automatic sleep seemed like it still worked however as the computer went to sleep later (after a few minutes of inactivity).

IMac PPC :: Power Outage G5 Was In Sleep, Now Won't Turn On
my G5 was in sleep mode during 2 power outages. She will not turn back on, have tried unplgging, wait then replugging and turning powerstrip back on. Also tried holding down command, option, p & r keys along w/ powerbutton..I'm on my kindle fire rt now,  but definitely need my Mac back up.
IMac :: Won't Turn On - Left Sleep - Plug In Surge Protector
my Imac is an Intel-based 2.4ghz with a 250 gb harddrive early 2008 model and my problem is it won't turn on. I just left my imac on sleep and then the power trip at my house, my imac was plug in a surge protector, and now it won't turn on.
MacBook Pro :: Light Blue Screen Flashing?
When shutting down, we get a familiar light blue screen before the computer turns off. I'm getting this flashing at me while operating my MBP. It seems to happen twice, every so often. The screen will turn blue and become empty simultaneously for about a half second - then the screen I'm expecting to see comes back for about half a second - and then the light blue screen comes back again for about a half a second, and then everything goes back to normal. What the heck is this?
I must say, I'm having a little bit of a difficult time with my switch to Apple from Microsoft last November. I've already had to replace the logic board, it appears as if my network card is no longer working (I can only connect via WiFi) - and now I'm having this odd light-blue screen flashing... My video card?
MacBook Pro :: Laptop Won't Turn On And Won't Hold A Charge?
I put my 17" Macbook Pro to sleep overnight without the power adapter two nights ago, and when I woke up yesterday it wouldn't turn on, even with the power adapter plugged in. The battery was almost dead when I put it to sleep (2% charge), but after leaving the adapter plugged in all day yesterday the battery indicator on the bottom only has one light glowing solid.I've removed the battery and tried to start it with just the power adapter, I've tried Ctrl+Cmd+Power Button, I've reset the PRAM, I've reset the SMC, and it still doesn't work.
MacBook Pro :: Flashing Red Light On Power Chord?
I have an old macbookpro which doesn't have a good battery.  last night it shut off because I didn't have the power chord attached.  now I can't power it up.  the light on the power chord flashes (slowly) between red and green.
MacBook Pro :: Light Indicator On The Front Of The Laptop Was Flashing Then It Turned Off

I pressed the power button but all i hear was the DVD Drive turn on then when I released the power button, everything, turned off. But when i keep holding the power button for around 5 seconds, the light indicator on the front of the laptop was flashing then it turned off.
