1) Bluetooth is ON:
I can't turn it off. The checkbox is inactive.
But I can turn it off, if I choose "Share my internet connection for other units". (I don't know, if this is the right text in english, because my OSX is in german)
2) Now Bluetooth is OFF:
But I can't turn it on, because the checkbox "ON" is inactive.
It turns only on, if I choose "New Unit"(?). Then there is a new window, that says, that this is only possible if Bluetooth turns on. If I say OK, bluetooth turns ON.

What's the problem. Why is this f* checkbox for turning bluetooth on and off inactive?
This is not a hardware problem, because I can have stable bluetooth connections.
I did a smc and am pram reset. But it doesn't help.

Can one of you clever bods point me in the direction of what cable I need, and also what do I need to do to the iMac to make it behave as just a monitor? Is it just a matter of plugging in the cables and off I go?

Jan 4, 2009Had (used) iBook G4 several months now & thoroughly enjoy it, even tho' I live in the sticks where there's no hi-speed/wireless available; I connect to internet & power, which is fine.
This weekend I went to turn off my iBook & it wouldn't turn off. It's now permanently on, with opening info barely visible (like I need to click on F2 to brighten up, except nothing happens).
Currently using my "back up" computer, my iMac Grape, which is pretty much an antique by now.

Jun 20, 2012I bought MBA Mid 2011 last March, and I have updated OSX into the last update. Yesterday I connected my MBA into a server to open several spreadsheet files. I succeded. But then - I don't know exactly what's going on - maybe my MBA went off because I turned on the Power sleep at 15 mins. Then I couldn't turn on my MBA. Battery status was about 80%.

Jul 1, 2012I have a Macbook pro 2011 13" which I keeps shutting down constantly. I erase the macintosh hd drive as suggested, also did the ctr, command, option, p and r step and when i try to reinstall the mac os x snow leopard it goes through the process and gets as far as 3 minutes into installation and then shuts down. Even when I try to install the mac os x lion from the disc utilities screen it goes throu the same process and then shuts down and reboots. it constantly shuts down and reboots.

Apr 7, 2012I am using a rocketfish thunderbolt to HDMI dongle, HDMI cable to the TV. The TV seems to recognize that something is connected, but the message on the screen still says no signal. I've tried the various HDMI inputs as well as the HDMI/DVI input. I use the same HDMI cable to connect to the iPad to the tv without problems.
My Macbook shows "Samsung" under displays, so the machine is connecting to the tv. Could this be a firmware issue on my TV? The TV is approx 3 years old. This is part of the reason I bought this machine

If I open the macbook and remove the battery the green light turns on and I can turn on the macbook.I have already bought a new battery and its not charging.Could it be the magsafe board? I am asking because the light goes on without battery so I thought that the magsafe board maybe is working.

Apr 27, 2012Recently the buttons on my trackpad stick, as there stuck down even when I touch the pad lightley it responds as though i'm clicking down when i'm not. This means that its perminantly clicking and highlighting. Its so annoying.I have googled it and had so many different answers on how to fix it, some said restart the laptop, some said it is a software problem and some said to tap the trackpad lightly. I have updated my laptop with the update that came through and the pad still sticks, and i have restarted my laptop and it still isnt fixed.
I dont know why this is happening as the laptop is only 8 months old and i take such good care of it. Is there anyway to fix this?

May 2, 2012Yesterday morning it took longer than usual to shutdown. I didn't think much of it at the time. After shutting down I put it in my laptop bag, drove to a friends house. When I arrived there it would not turn on. The power cord wasn't displaying any sign of life either. I followed some instructions to reset the SMC via the (left) shift + ctrl + option keys along with the power button. It still wouldn't power on. I took it to the Apple store. The Genius said he'd be back in 5 minutes, he took it to the back room. After 20 minutes he came back and said he had no idea what was wrong with it. He asked if my data was backed up, which it was and then went on to inform me that it would need to be shipped to another facility to troubleshoot it. He warned me that water damage would void my warranty, which shouldn't be an issue considering I've never spilled anything on it. He inspected it in front of me and commented how it still looked brand new.
